Exclusive: Outlier Society is developing the Amazon MGM Studios action thriller movie, T-Minus, which is being co-scripted by Fall Guy‘s Drew Pearce and Watchmen and Station Eleven scribe Nick Cuse.
Outlier Society’s Michael B. Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo will produce with Pearce who is producing via his Point of No Return Films and Isa Dick Hackett via Electric Shepherd Productions.
Pearce
The project was initially developed by Pearce’s banner Point of No Return Films. Outlier Society’s Elizabeth Raposo heard the pitch—said to be an action-thriller along the lines of “Top Gun meets Back to the Future, with a Philip K. Dick twist”—and saw the potential for it to be the perfect Outlier project: an elevated piece with major tentpole potential.
While plot details are being kept under wraps, T-Minus will be adapted from the Philip K. Dick sci-fi 1974 short story A Little Something for Us Tempunauts.

The Accursed opens with a text crawling across the screen telling us about groups of Croatian women who banded together into groups or Sisterhoods, of three to harness the elements. And how all of them moved to the USA and prospered, except for one such trio. I’m sure you can guess who this film is about. And probably how it all ends up for that matter.
After emigrating to America Aishe (Jena Carpenter; The Hatred) catches Hana with her husband. In the ensuing chaos, Hana kills Aishe before she can complete an epic curse on her and her family. Which means that Nadia has to cut off Hana’s hand and bury Aishe with it over her mouth to...

Florence Pugh is attached to star in a sci-fi courtroom drama called “Dolly” about a sex robot that murders its billionaire owner. Though the film has not yet been greenlit, Apple TV+ acquired it in a bidding war, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.
Vanessa Taylor and Drew Pearce are writing the script, which is still being developed. No director is currently attached.
“Dolly” is inspired by a short story from Elizabeth Bear that first appeared in “Asimov’s Science Fiction” in 2011. The story follows a billionaire who is killed by a sex robot, forcing police to determine whether the robot was the murder weapon or the actual murderer. The bot then shocks the world by asking for a lawyer and pleading not guilty in the ensuing court case.
Apple Studios would produce the film along with Pearce through his production company Point of No Return Films.

Whether it’s coming out of Nashville, New York, L.A., or points in between, there’s no shortage of fresh tunes, especially from artists who have yet to become household names. Rolling Stone Country selects some of the best new music releases from country and Americana artists.
Canaan Smith, “Colder Than You”
After a few hits and an occasional misfire, Canaan Smith finds his country voice on the deliberately stripped-down new song “Colder Than You.” “For me, it all started with a hand-me-down acoustic. I’ve always felt like...

Songwriter Ian Fisher may work within the Americana and country world, but the Missouri native and high-school pal of modern-country star Chris Janson couldn’t be more of an outlier.
Fisher has spent the last third of his life honing his craft in Europe, and that experience manifests itself in the striking new video for his song “Long Line.” Filmed in an abandoned and supposedly haunted villa in Vienna, Austria, that once belonged to opera singer Maria Jeritza, the clip finds the normally unassuming solo artist embracing his theatrical side,...

Will Hoge’s eviscerating “Gilded Walls,” Colter Wall’s folksy “Plain to See a Plainsman” and Rachel Wammack’s marvelous “Damage” are among the 10 country and Americana tracks you must hear right now.
Jenny Tolman, “Rock & Roll to My Country Soul”
A country-blooded crooner who grew up within Nashville’s city limits, Tolman pines for a boy from the wrong side of the tracks — musically speaking, that is — on this honky-tonk shuffle. It’s a classic opposites-attract situation, with the singer reaching across the aisle to seize her rock-loving beau’s hand.
