Is “A Star is Born” destined to sweep the Golden Globes? Maybe not. Though it’s still the front-runner to win Best Film Drama and Best Film Drama Actress (Lady Gaga), according to the combined predictions of Gold Derby users, Bradley Cooper has fallen ever so slightly behind in our forecasts for Best Film Drama Actor. Now it looks like Rami Malek (“Bohemian Rhapsody“) has the inside track. But it’s so close that it could still go either way.
Malek now leads with odds of 17/5. That includes support from 8 out of 16 Expert journalists we’ve polled from top media outlets: Erik Davis (Fandango), Bonnie Fuller (Hollywood Life), Tariq Khan (Fox TV), Jack Mathews (Gold Derby), Michael Musto (NewNowNext), Tom O’Neil (Gold Derby), Sasha Stone (Awards Daily) and Susan Wloszczyna (Gold Derby).

The Best Actress Oscar race isn’t the only place where Emily Blunt is making a move. The “Mary Poppins Star” is closing in on the top spot in our Golden Globe Best Film Comedy/Musical Actress predictions, with a handful of pundits now betting on her to take home the prize.
Once Olivia Colman was confirmed to be going lead for “The Favourite,” Blunt has been in second place behind her fellow Brit. She remains there, but Colman’s lead has shrunk to 69/20 to 39/10 for Blunt in the past week, thanks to the positive reactions from the “Mary Poppins Returns” screenings. Three Experts, Michael Musto (NewNowNext), Susan King (Gold Derby) and Edward Douglas (Weekend Warrior), are backing Blunt for the win, as are two of our Editors, Chris Beachum and Marcus James Dixon.
