Is “Grey’s Anatomy” on tonight? No. ABC’s long-running medical drama is taking off a couple of weeks, and it will air its 426th episode, titled “The Marathon Continues,” on Thursday, May 2. Here is the official synopsis: “Mika and Teddy receive a patient from a nearby penitentiary; Catherine pushes back on Link and Monica’s treatment plan for a VIP; Bailey tries to integrate wellness into the residency program.” Watch the promo video above for Season 20 Episode 6, and read on for everything to know about “Grey’s Anatomy.”
Note that the new season was delayed until mid-season due to the writers’ and actors’ strikes of 2023. Because of the late start, the 20th season will be the shortest since the first season with only 10 episodes total. Behind the scenes, Meg Marinis has taken over as showrunner from Krista Vernoff, who departed after Season 19.

Some time ago, news emerged that Rajinikanth is joining hands with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film is tentatively titled ‘Thalaivar 171’ and has great excitement amongst the fans. It’s the first time the actor and director have joined hands for a project together. Fans can’t keep calm as Kanagaraj has delivered some fantastic hits in the past, such as Kaithi, Master, and Vikram.
Thalaivar 171 Villain and Exciting Cameos
For an actor like Rajinikanth, the villain has to be menacing. A report by Dt Next stated that actor Mic Mohan might play the movie’s antagonist. The team has approached Mohan to play the bad guy and will soon announce if things are finalised. The actor is known for performing in popular movies like Nooravathu Naal, Sutta Pazham, Payanangal Mudivathillai, etc.

Note: This story contains spoilers from the “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 20 premiere.
“Grey’s Anatomy” hit the reset button in the aftermath of its traumatic Season 19 finale, including the exit of one of their own. By the end of the Season 20 premiere, Dr. Nick Marsh (Scott Speedman) announced he’d be leaving Grey Sloan Memorial to reunite with Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) at her new home in Boston.
His last move as residency director was passing the torch to the now Catherine Fox award-winning Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson), effectively bringing the series back to basics with her taking charge of teaching the hospital’s latest class of interns.
“I feel like if anyone can bring these interns back from what just happened, it’s the person who helped create doctors like Meredith Grey and Cristina Yang and Alex Karev,” showrunner Meg Marinis told TheWrap. “Bailey doesn’t always get the credit that she deserves.

Grey’s Anatomy continues to rewrite the TV history books, extending its record as the longest-running primetime medical drama with the upcoming landmark 20th season, which premieres this Thursday, March 14.
This also marks the first season of Meg Marinis, an 18-year Grey’s Anatomy veteran, as the series’ showrunner. And she is not planning it as the drama’s final chapter.
“I’ve not been informed that this is the last season so I’m going to keep going and telling stories as long as they let me,” she told Deadline in an interview tied to the Season 20 premiere. “We still have stories to tell. We receive a tremendous amount of support from the studio and the network and from Shondaland. So I’m going to keep going until they tell me to put that pen down.”
Created by Shonda Rhimes, Grey’s Anatomy comes from Rhimes’ Shondaland and ABC Signature, part of Disney Television Studios.

It’s hard to believe Grey’s Anatomy has been on the air for almost 20 years.
As a midseason replacement back in 2005, the show wasn’t expected to break out in the way it has done.
Despite big casting shake-ups, it remains one of ABC’s most popular dramas and will likely be on the air for countless more years.
With Grey’s Anatomy Season 20 just around the corner, it’s time to take a look at everything we know about the milestone season.
We even have an update on Ellen Pompeo’s return as Meredith Grey.
Get all the details below.
Grey’s Anatomy Season 20: when will it premiere?
The medical drama will return from an extended hiatus on Thursday, March 14, at 9/8c.

When news emerged that Grey's Anatomy Season 20 production was underway, there was a big question mark over Ellen Pompeo's name.
After departing as a series regular during Grey's Anatomy Season 19, Meredith Grey returned with professional and personal breakthroughs later that season.
Her story was seemingly at its end, but Pompeo had been adamant about coming back here and there following her exit.
And it seems she still has a soft spot for Meredith and her former colleagues because she's lined up more than one appearance in the upcoming season.
The news came courtesy of costar and director Debbie Allen, who was asked by Entertainment Tonight about Pompeo's status on the call sheet.
"Miss Thing is there, honey," enthused Allen.
"She's in the first episode, and she's in the one I'm going to direct.

We'll be old and gray before Grey's Anatomy ends!
Grey's Anatomy continues to make records and hold its own as a cultural juggernaut in the television landscape as it comes off 19 seasons on the air.
And while there has been a revolving door cast over the past nearly two decades, including the titular main character, Meredith Grey herself, it shows no signs of slowing down.
One of the most exciting aspects of Grey's Anatomy Season 19 is how the series found a way to reinvent itself.
It served as a reboot within the series, and the show pulled it off remarkably well with a fresh batch of interns who have already made their mark and feel like the next generation of this series.
No one could've anticipated that a new version of Og "M.A.G.I.C" conveniently, also "M.A.G.Yk" could bring back the familiar vibes of Grey's Anatomy's heyday,...

With the conclusion of Grey's Anatomy Season 19, there's a big question about which cast members will return for Grey's Anatomy Season 20.
Thankfully, we have some answers.
Deadline revealed Thursday evening that James Pickens Jr. and Chandra Wilson will be back as Richard and Bailey, respectively.
The move means they will become the longest-serving series regulars as they are the only two remaining cast members who have been with the medical drama since the start.
Kevin McKidd, who joined the cast during Grey's Anatomy Season 5, will return as Owen.
Kim Raver, who first appeared on Grey's Anatomy Season 6 and returned in Season 14 after a five-year break, will return as Teddy.
The Raver news being revealed months before production is set to get underway, given that Grey's Anatomy Season 19 Episode 20 concluded with Teddy's life on the line after collapsing.

Whether you’re more familiar with Juliet Mills from her title role on Nanny and the Professor or from her work as wacky witch Tabitha Lennox on Passions, there’s one fact upon which we can all agree: she’s a delight.
Funny, fearless and capable of turning a reading of the phonebook into an acting masterclass, Mills is now casting her spell on Grey’s Anatomy in the recurring role of Maxine Anderson, the unlikely roommate of Adelaide Kane’s Dr. Jules Millin.

After almost two decades of healing wounds, both physical and romantic, the staff of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital is still going strong.
Despite the onscreen departure of series star Ellen Pompeo, Grey’s Anatomy has already been picked up for its 20th season, meaning fans had plenty to celebrate at the show’s PaleyFest panel, held at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday.
Krista Vernoff — who will depart as showrunner after the 19th season — was joined onstage by 15 members of the current ensemble cast, including Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., Kevin McKidd, Caterina Scorsone, Camilla Luddington, Kelly McCreary, Kim Raver, Jake Borelli, Chris Carmack, Anthony Hill, Alexis Floyd, Harry Shum Jr. Adelaide Kane, Midori Francis and Niko Terho.
The audience unleashed raucous applause as soon as moderator (and original castmember) T.R. Knight appeared, and they only grew louder as series stalwarts such as Wilson and Pickens took to the stage.

Today is a beautiful day to find out which of Grey’s Anatomy‘s new surgical residents you are. At the beginning of Season 19, we were introduced to five new surgical interns: Dr. Jules Millin (Adelaide Kane), Dr. Benson “Blue” Kwan (Harry Shum Jr.), Dr. Mika Yasuda (Midori Francis), Dr. Lucas Adams (Niko Terho), and Dr. Simone Griffith (Alexis Floyd). Although fans have already been trying to make the M.A.G.I.C connection between these two sets of characters, there’s no denying that these new interns have kicked off the season with a fresh new start. There’s Mika, whose sense of humor sometimes gets her in trouble, and Blue, who is competitive to a fault. Lucas is considered the “black sheep” of his family, and Jules isn’t afraid to break the rules in order to do what’s right. And let’s not forget Simone, ...

Grey’s Anatomy continues to write TV history with a renewal for a landmark 20th season, extending its record as the longest-running primetime medical drama. Along with the pickup, which was fully expected, ABC also confirmed Deadline’s report that Meg Marinis will serve as showrunner for Season 20. She replaces longtime Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 showrunner Krista Vernoff, who is leaving both series at the end of this season.

“Grey’s Anatomy” has been renewed for Season 20 at ABC.
With the renewal, the series continues its run as the longest running primetime medical drama in TV history. In addition, series executive producer Meg Marinis will serve as showrunner on Season 20. Marinis takes over from Krista Vernoff, who was reported to be stepping down from “Grey’s Anatomy” and its spinoff “Station 19” back in January.
The Season 19 finale of “Grey’s Anatomy” will air on May 18. The show has seen a number of exits this season, most notably Vernoff and Kelly McCreary (who’s played Dr. Maggie Pierce for nine seasons) — and series lead Ellen Pompeo, kind of. Pompeo has been with the show since it debuted, but in the Feb. 23 episode, her character Meredith Grey moved from Seattle to Boston. She will continue to provide the voiceover at the beginning and end of each episodes, and she’ll also appear on the finale.

It was such a fun hour.
Teddy and Owen finally made amends, Maggie seems lost, and Richard learned the truth about Catherine's prognosis on Grey's Anatomy Season 19 Episode 10. Meanwhile, the interns continue to shine.
Grey's Fanatics Meaghan Frey, Joshua Johnson, and Jasmine Blu discuss the hour.
Teddy and Owen finally apologized to each other and made up. Thoughts?
Meaghan: Thank god! It's about time we move past the drama between those two.
I actually loved the apology scene between the two of them; I never thought I'd be saying I love a Teddy and Owen scene again. The moment felt genuine, and I could feel their years of love and friendship.
Unfortunately, I'm not holding my breath that it will last. Writers, please let Teddy and Owen be happy for five minutes so we viewers can get a break.
Joshua: I was surprised to find myself enjoying a Teddy and Owen scene again too,...

May Tank rest in peace!
We got an upsetting loss on Grey's Anatomy Season 19 Episode 8 with the death of Tank, while Simone's ex returned to her and Lucas' surprise. Also, Teddy is officially the new chief.
Join Joshua Johnson, Meaghan Frey, and Jasmine Blu as they discuss the hour.
Were you shocked by the outcome of Link's surgery with Tank? Do you think there will be blowback on Link and the hospital after such a high-profile death?
Joshua: I wasn't entirely shocked by Tank's death; from Link's first scene talking about the surgery, it was obvious that the patient would die. Even once we got to know Tank, I knew he would die: he was so likable, everyone was rooting for him, even his mother phoning in to "admonish" Simone and Blue was a hint that Tank was going to die.
I was very moved by the story and cried when Tank died.

Meredith Grey performed her “last” surgery at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital during the winter premiere of “Grey’s Anatomy” on Thursday. But Ellen Pompeo’s final episode as a series regular felt more like a “see you later,” leaving plenty of questions unanswered and the door open for her character’s return.
ABC promoted the episode, titled “I’ll Follow the Sun,” as Meredith’s big farewell to Seattle. Previews for the hour paid homage to the many traumatic moments, goodbyes, accomplishments and near-death experiences the doctor has procured across 19 seasons and over 400 episodes, but the hour itself played more like real life — with a dose of romantic comedy frustration.
The installment began as Meredith and her children arrived at the hospital for her last day on the job, in the aftermath of her longtime Seattle home sustaining damage in a fire. In a conversation with love interest Dr. Nick Marsh...

Since Grey’s Anatomy first premiered in 2005, it has aired 19 seasons, 406 episodes, and birthed 3 spinoffs. Naturally the show has had to adapt as cast members come and go throughout the years. This sometimes makes it hard to recall what exactly went on in season 1. Although who can forget Addison Montgomery (then Shepherd) saying the iconic line, “I’m Addison Shepherd … and you must be the woman who’s been screwing my husband.”
With every new intern class that Grey’s introduces viewers to, it always throws in a few Easter eggs to remind fans what made them fall in love with the show in the first place. However, it seems season 19 wanted to take this even further. Grey’s Anatomy season 19 launches a soft reboot that allows the series to ground itself in its season 1 roots. As the lead of Shonda Rhimes’ medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy,” Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) has been through a lot: The death of her mother from Alzheimer’s, being held at gunpoint, miscarriages, getting stranded in the woods for days after a plane crash that killed her sister, watching her husband dying in a car crash, nearly dying from Covid, and more and more tragedies than one can reasonably list.
Now, the character is (hopefully) moving on to greener, less traumatic pastures in the midseason premiere “I’ll Follow the Sun,” which sees her leave hospital/deathtrap Grey Sloan Memorial after 19 seasons. A teaser for the episode, which will premiere on February 23 on ABC, was released Wednesday out of the channel’s Television Critics Association winter press conference.

ABC has released more information and a new promo for Grey’s Anatomy‘s Feb 23 winter return, entitled “I’ll Follow the Sun,” which will mark Meredith Grey’s (Ellen Pompeo) departure from Grey Sloan Memorial.
In the episode, written by Grey’s executive producer/showrunner Krista Vernoff and directed by series’ executive producer Debbie Allen, it’s Meredith’s last day at Grey Sloan Memorial and the doctors plan a goodbye surprise, while Nick confronts her about the future of their relationship. Elsewhere, the interns compete to scrub in on Maggie and Winston’s groundbreaking partial heart transplant procedure, and Richard asks Teddy an important question.
“Sometimes change is good, sometimes change is everything,” Meredith says in the voiceover for the promo.
And when she is toasted by her colleagues on her final day at the hospital, she deadpans, “You know I probably will be back next week.”

Meredith Grey is about to leave the building.
Grey’s Anatomy wrapped up its 2022 episodes Thursday and left viewers with a big pill to prepare to swallow when the ABC medical drama returns in February with its winter premiere.
In a clip for the Feb. 23 return (watch it, below), leading lady Ellen Pompeo’s Meredith prepares to say her farewell to friends, family and colleagues at Grey Sloan as she moves with her children to Boston.
While the promo certainly points to Pompeo’s final time on Grey’s Anatomy, that’s not the case — at least not right now. In August, Pompeo signed on to star in and exec produce an untitled limited series for Disney-owned Hulu. With the gig, Pompeo scaled back her time on Grey’s to only eight episodes in the show’s current 19th season. The winter premiere is the seventh,...

Despite big names leaving Grey's Anatomy, they always pop back up.
The same can be said for Jesse Williams, who has closed a deal to return to the ABC medical drama for Grey's Anatomy Season 19 Episode 5.
Williams will also direct the episode, airing November 3, and titled "When I Get to the Border."
Deadline first reported the news.
This marks the second time Williams has returned since exiting as a series regular in early 2021.
The star returned for the Grey's Anatomy Season 18 finale earlier this year on ABC alongside longtime co-star Sarah Drew, who plays April Kepner.
However, Deadline reports that Drew will not be a part of the upcoming episode.
The highly anticipated hour features Meredith on a trip to Boston, where she catches up with her longtime friend.
It's unclear what the purpose of the trip to Boston will be, but it will be nice to see these two share the screen again.

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers for “Everything Has Changed,” the premiere of Season 19 of “Grey’s Anatomy,” which first aired on Oct. 6 on ABC and streams on Hulu starting on Oct. 7.
“Grey’s Anatomy” is diving back into its past to begin its future. The Season 19 premiere of ABC’s long-running medical drama kicked off with a slew of brand-new cast members — the class of surgical interns on their first day at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, much like the pilot episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” introduced that cast on March 27, 2005.
These freshmen interns, though, are the opposite of the Meredith Greys and Cristina Yangs we met all those years ago. Because the Grey Sloan surgical residency program was shut down last season after a patient’s death, this new group was selected in desperation: They’re the rejects and malcontents who didn’t make it elsewhere. New series regulars Harry Shum Jr.,...

Spoiler Alert: This story contains details of the Grey’s Anatomy Season 19 premiere on Thursday.
“Everything Has Changed” is the title of Grey’s Anatomy‘s Season 19 premiere, which aired tonight. Yet, a lot of it also felt very familiar. In a throwback to Grey’s Anatomy‘s pilot, the season opener, set six months after the Season 18 finale, chronicled the first day of Grey Sloan’s new interns, played by Harry Shum Jr., Adelaide Kane, Alexis Floyd, Niko Terho and Midori Francis, just like Episode 101 did with Meredith and her fellow wide-eyed rookie interns.
In another likely nod to the Grey’s Anatomy pilot — which famously started with Meredith having a one-night stand with Patrick Dempsey’s Derek — one of the new interns, Jules (Kane), also accidentally had slept with an attending, Link, on the eve of her starting the program. The revelation sent Link on a wild Hr goose chase, with Meredith deadpanning,...

Full of “Aww!”-some throwbacks to the past and tantalizing harbingers of the future, Thursday’s ultra-zippy Grey’s Anatomy got the long-running ABC drama’s Season 19 off to a pretty fantastic start. We got, if not full, at least partial resolutions to two cliffhangers (Meredith and Nick’s relationship status and Owen and Teddy’s legal woes). We were introduced to the five new surgical residents who are pumping fresh blood into Grey Sloan. (More on them here.) And we had dropped on our heads two surprises — one of them delightfully Derek-based. And if you keep reading, we’ll go...
