Six months after launching a new venture called The Valleyfolk, four former cast members of the bygone news channel SourceFed are cooking up a new series tailored to the tastes of their viewers. It's called Your Show, and its a variety series that combines the format of Saturday Night Live with the feel of YouTube.
Your Show features The Valleyfolk's four co-hosts -- Joe Bereta, Lee Newton, Steve Zaragoza, and Elliott Morgan -- across a series of sketches, man-on-the-street segments, news updates, and more. Sets range from a simple couch to a news desk that looks like a Diy version of SNL's 'Weekend Update' hub.
The first episode of Your Show is now available on the official Valleyfolk YouTube channel, which has more than 200,000 subscribers. A second installment is expected to arrive in two weeks.

Luke Barats is taking over his former comedy partner's old gig. Barats, who served as one half of the sketch comedy duo Barats and Bereta between 2005 and 2013, will replace Joe Bereta as the Creative Director of Defy Media's Smosh brand.
Barats will succeed Bereta after the former comedian opted to depart his post in order to dedicate his full-time focus to The Valleyfolk, a spiritual successor to the SourceFed channel he helped make famous. According to Defy, Bereta will take over the Creative Director gig on an interim basis, with the opportunity for a long-term extension at a later date.
The Barats and Bereta channel was one of YouTube's most fruitful sketch comedy hubs during the video site's early years. Its co-founders created a number of memorable viral hits, including 'Mother's Day' and 'Man Vs. Toddler.'

Joe Bereta is one of four former SourceFed hosts working on a new channel called The Valleyfolk, and in order to fully devote himself to that project, he will leave his previous post. Bereta is stepping down as the Creative Director of Defy Media's Smosh brand after spending more than three years at the company.
Bereta, an experienced online video creator, came to SourceFed in 2012 after previously co-hosting the popular sketch comedy channel Barats and Bereta. At the start of 2015, Bereta departed SourceFed in order to join Defy Media, where his work primarily concerned Smosh-related concerns. He helped launch web series like Every [Blank] Ever, through which Smosh has been able to spotlight its growing cast of actors and comedians.
Beyond Smosh, Bereta also launched shows on other Defy outlets. He brought Epic How To, which he hosted, to the AWEme channel in 2015.

SourceFed is back...sort of. Four the news/commentary/comedy channel's original hosts -- Elliott Morgan, Joe Bereta, Lee Newton, and Steve Zaragoza -- have reunited to launch a new venture called The Valleyfolk, which looks as if it will be a spiritual successor to SourceFed.
Beginning in 2012, Morgan, Bereta, Newton, and Zaragoza (along with Meg Turney and Trisha Hershberger) began hosting cheeky, bite-sized videos, which often broke down strange or outlandish stories from the news. Thanks in part to their shared charisma and chemistry, SourceFed flourished and became one of YouTube's best channels. Such success proved fleeting. Morgan and Bereta left the channel in 2014 and Newton said goodbye in 2015, among other departures. The resulting high rate of turnover contributed to SourceFed's cancelation in March 2017.

SourceFedNERD has a new face among its ranks. The Discovery Digital Networks-owned YouTube channel welcomed Australian media personality Maude Garrett to the SourceFedNERD team.
Garrett is well-known in her native country as a radio and television personality. Previously, the Australian hosted two Nickelodeon Australia shows: the kids’ afternoon segment Sarvo and the reality series Camp Orange. Garrett moved to Los Angeles in 2013 to interview top celebrities and host the Hot Hits Live from La radio show.
“A multi-faceted talent like Maude is extremely hard to come by, so welcoming her to the SourceFedNERD crew was a no-brainer,” said Jeremy Azevedo, who was made Head of Discovery Digital Networks in Los Angeles in December, via a release. “Maude’s hosting experience coupled with her infectious personality make her a perfect fit for SourceFedNERD, and we are so happy to have her on board.”

During Defy Media’s presentation at the 2015 Newfronts, the digital media company announced Every [Blank] Ever, the first new web series to debut on the Smosh channel since Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla launched their sketch comedy hub nearly ten years ago. The first episode of Every [Blank] Ever is now here, and it takes on obnoxious social media uses by humorous cataloging “Every Instagram Ever.”
In addition to Hecox and Padilla, Every [Blank] Ever also includes three other contributors to the Smosh channel: Keith Leak, Noah Grossman, and Olivia Sui. Joe Bereta, who recently arrived at Defy Media after leaving SourceFed at the end of 2014, serves as the series’ Creative Director and makes a cameo appearance in the first episode.

The last remaining member of SourceFed's original hosting team is leaving the channel. Lee Newton, who has spent the last three years delivering offbeat news stories on the Philip DeFranco-founded channel, has appeared in her final SourceFed video and said her goodbyes to her colleagues and fans.
Unlike Joe Bereta, who left SourceFed at the beginning of the year in order to take a job at Defy Media, Newton's post-SourceFed plans aren't known, but she will at least renew her presence on her personal channel, which she has updated infrequenty since joining SourceFed.
In 2012, Newton, along with Bereta and Elliott Morgan, appeared in SourceFed's first video. The channel has grown to reach 1.5 million subscribers and collect more than 716 million views, and along the way, it has undergone some personnel changes. The Super Bowl kicks off on February 1st, and in anticipation of the biggest game on the NFL's schedule, a number of content creators have turned to YouTube, where millions of viewers are hungry for football-related content. As it turns out, there are dozens of great Super Bowl-centric videos on the Internet this year, and no, they're not all ads. Here are seven gridiron-related releases that caught our eyes this year.
7. Super Bowl Xlix: Patriots vs. Seahawks NFL Films preview by NFL
A week before the Super Bowl, the NFL finally launched its own YouTube channel. There's a ton of great content on there, but nothing will get football fans more excited than the NFL Films preview of the Big Game--even if it doesn't use this song.
6. How To Get A Super Bowl Ring - Epic How To by AWEme
AWEme's new series began by winnings its viewers an Academy Award.

At the end of 2014, Joe Bereta left his gig at SourceFed in order to join Defy Media, where he has adopted the title of Creative Director. Two weeks after his arrival at Defy, Bereta has hosted his first video on the network. He is the narrator for Epic How To, a series that teaches viewers the easiest ways to accomplish extraordinary feats.
Epic How To lives on the AWEme channel, which is best known for hosting the Man At Arms series and has more than 2.6 million subscribers. In each episode, Bereta, accompanied by some typographic animations and an introduction from the Honest Trailers voice, will lead each viewer on a journey from anonymous nobody to accomplished pro.
The first installment takes on a timely subject by explaining the easiest way to win an Academy Award. This explanation involves short-subject documentaries, depressing subject matter, and catchy titles, and the video includes...

If you thought 2015 was going to be Frozen-free, you’re more clueless than Olaf planning a day at the beach. (That’s a Frozen reference, if you didn’t understand. Go watch Frozen. Before the next one comes out.)
Yes, we might all be sick of “Let It Go” — even the director knows you’re sick of it — but how can you not listen to it one more time, or a million more times on loop, when you’ve got a little baby like this absolutely freaking out over it:
News: Listen to Lea Michele sings “Let It Go” on Glee here!
“He is fabulous and I love him,” dad Joe Bereta says.
We agree. It doesn’t matter that his reaction is the same every single time:
Every time it’s perfect. Never stop dancing, little baby. Never let it go.
And find out how Idina Menzel’s son uses Frozen to charm the ladies:...

Bereta announced his departure from SourceFed in a blog post on his personal website. In the post, Bereta showed some love for his SourceFed coworkers while explaining his decision in the most Joe Bereta way possible:

Xbox is counting on the fact that blowing stuff up never gets old. Microsoft's gaming console partnered with several of Discovery Digital Networks’ biggest YouTube stars to real-life objects go boom as part of the networks' “Week of Explosions” marketing campaign. Xbox’s campaign celebrates the October 28 launch of Insomniac Games’ newest title, the open world, third-person shooter Sunset Overdrive. The marketing effort features online video personalities from Discovery’s SourceFed, SourceFedNERD, RatedRR, and The Vloggity. Each star was tasked with the awesome job of blowing up random objects (that have some connection to Sunset Overdrive, of course) over a four-day span (despite the “week” title). For one of the “Week of Explosions” videos, you can catch RatedRR’s Richard Ryan and SourceFed hosts Matt Lieberman, Sam Bashor, and Joe Bereta explode cans inspired by Sunset Overdrive’s featured energy drink Overcharge. Get ready to discuss more than just politics. Mashable just announced its new series called Monumental, which finds famous YouTubers and entertainment personalities debating which four items in a given category should be “immortalized” onto a digital picture of Mount Rushmore. The series is hosted by Elliott Morgan of ex-SourceFed fame. Each episode starts with eight different contenders fighting for a spot on digital Rushmore within a chosen category. Two guest panelists eliminate the first few options with Morgan, and then the panelists each have 10 seconds to argue why their choices should be in the final tally. The entire group chooses the fourth item together. The show will feature such panelists as Lee Newton, Kermit the Frog, Joe Bereta, and Timothy DeLaGhetto. Shane Dawson and Roman Atwood make an appearance to debate the top 4 viral videos of all time in the first episode, now live on Mashable’s YouTube channel.

Elliott Morgan and Meg Turney are leaving SourceFed. First, let’s provide some context. SourceFed is one of (if not the) most successful channels to come from the now defunct $100+ million YouTube Originals Initiative. YouTube star Phil DeFranco leveraged his already massive and actionable fanbase to launch the multiple-times-a-day news program (which I once described as being a kind of Daily Show for the YouTube generation) back in January 2012. Since then, SourceFed has amassed over 1.3 million subscribers, racked up over 660 million views, and spawned at least one geeky offshoot. The show’s success, no doubt, factored into Revision3’s acquisition of the brand along with other assets in DeFranco’s portfolio, as it displayed how the twentysomething online video entertainer and entrepreneur could build new brands that weren’t centered around him being the only individual on camera. And second, let’s get back to Morgan and Turney. Morgan was...

Considering all the success SourceFed has had, it's hard to believe it only began in earnest in January 2012. In just a year and a half, SourceFed has managed to cross the one million subscriber plateau, reel in more than 400 million views, and take home some serious hardware at the most recent Streamy Awards. We talked to one half of the SourceFed crew--Joe Bereta, Elliott Morgan, and Trisha Hershberger--about all the amazing things their channel has accomplished over the past 18 months. Tubefilter: How does it feel to cross one million subscribers? What do you have to say to your many fans? Joe Bereta: Holy crap! It's crazy. I discussed this in our million subscribers video. More than six months after it aired its last episode, MyMusic has resurfaced. The Fine Bros have released a trailer for the musical sitcom's second season, which will return old favorites while also enlisting the talents of several new cast members. Benny and Rafi Fine announced the second season back in May after a successful initial run that included 34 episodes. Altogether, the MyMusic channel has amassed nearly 400,000 subscribers and close to 30 million views before even factoring in the added engagement provided by the show's many, many transmedia elements. So what's in store for season two? In general, the trailer suggest that MyMusic's general tone will be the same, with broad caricatures serving as parodies of common music genres. Adam Busch's Indie and Grace Helbig's Idol will continue in their leading roles, and there seems to be a much bigger role for Jack Douglass' much-abused Intern 2 this time around.
