David was the creator and director of the Hollygrove Children's Home Therapeutic Performing Arts program, in Los Angeles. Hollygrove, then known as the Los Angeles Orphans Home Society is famous for once housing Norma Jean Baker (Marilyn Monroe), when she was a child. Norma Jean Baker spent 21 months at the Los Angeles Orphans Home Society in 1935-36.
