Warner Bros is developing a film about the Biblical King David.
The second project of its kind in the works, the film will be based on Rabbi David Wolpe's new book David: The Divided Heart, reports The Tracking Board.
"David is the most complex hero and anti-hero in the Bible," Wolpe told Variety. "He's a man who was a warrior, a prodigy, a poet, a king who united the nation and a man close to God who sins.
"I cannot imagine a more cinematic figure from the Bible."
Ridley Scott is developing a film based on the famous battle between David and Goliath with 20th Century Fox.
The veteran filmmaker's latest project is Exodus: Gods and Men, which tells the story of Moses's escape from Egypt, and will be released in December.

Well, this sounds awkward: According to ABC News, Rabbi David Wolpe of Los Angeles' Sinai Temple, where Monica Lewinsky and her family were members for decades, will deliver the benediction at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday (Sept. 5) night. So who's up before him? None other than former President Bill Clinton.
Wolpe, who was named the most influential rabbi in America by Newsweek, was highly critical of Clinton in the '90s over his relationship with Lewinsky, a then 24-year-old White House intern.
"He was a brilliant, talented, extraordinary child, and for the leader of the United States we need an adult," Wolpe told his congregation, according to the Associated Press in 1998. He also said that Clinton needed to "cleanse his soul."
In 2009, Wolpe wrote a piece for the Washington Post reflecting on the events.
"During the Lewinsky scandal, it was the lying and smearing of Monica Lewinsky that marked...

Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon is feeling the heat from Catholic and Jewish groups after reportedly calling Pope Benedict XVI a Nazi during an interview with actor Bob Balaban at the Hamptons Film Festival in New York on Saturday.
Newsday first reported the incident, and described the chain of events that led to the "offhand" comment:
She was discussing her 1995 film "Dead Man Walking," based on the anti-death-penalty book by Sister Helen Prejean, a copy of which she sent to the pope.
"The last one," she said, "not this Nazi one we have now." Balaban gently tut-tutted, but Sarandon only repeated her remark.
The Vatican has been open about Pope Benedict XVI's temporary membership in the Hitler Youth during the 1940s. As the report by Reuters explains, many children were forced to be part of the group during that time.
Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights,...

Reverend Billy 'exorcises' Bp while The Tree of Life finds some spiritual support
Reverend Billy rounds on Bp
In these days of insurrection it seems that no institution is safe from assault. Take oil giant Bp, which for the past two decades has been blithely offsetting its business practises by bankrolling exhibitions at London's Tate Modern – only for "Reverend Billy" to come and desecrate the deal. On Monday evening the Rev (a New York-based activist in the guise of a hellfire Pentecostal preacher) stormed into Turbine Hall to perform an exorcism. "Bp money is the devil!" he bellowed. "The destroyer of the Gulf of Mexico cannot be sponsoring the Miró exhibit!"
Egged on by a gospel choir, Reverend Billy, below, duly anointed himself in oil and then rubbed his head against the information board. "For 20 long years, Bp has embedded its foulness deep within the Tate, using the fair face...

Getty People celebrating Osama bin Laden’s death at Ground Zero
Late Sunday evening, just after President Obama announced that U.S. forces had killed Osama bin Laden, a Mark Twain quote quickly bounced around Twitter: “I’ve never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure.”
New Yorkers took that message to heart, gathering in Times Square and near Ground Zero and celebrating with paper-bagged beer, flag-waving and chants of “U! S! A!”
