Ike Barinholtz is going full dumbass.
That’s how The Mindy Project writer-star describes his latest character, Chris Chatman, who he’ll play for his newest project, The Chris Chatman Do-Over podcast, beginning Jan. 11.
The weekly show, which is being billed as an original improvised comedy, is the second of three installments in a series of podcasts from Amy Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions and Audacy. The first, which launched in September, is Say More with Dr? Sheila, which stars Poehler as a fictional, world-class therapist/life coach, who has questionable methods and credentials and sees new couples each week. “Clone High,” the animated MTV cult classic about a high school devoted to teenage clones of historical figures from creators Phil Lord and Chris Miller (the “Spider-Verse” franchise) and Bill Lawrence (“Ted Lasso”), returns with new episodes on Max 20 years after the cancellation of its sole season. The core group has thawed to confront a more complicated world of social media and new cultural norms, where “Riverdale” has replaced “Dawson’s Creek” as the coming-of-age template, complete with slightly more adult humor and even sillier situations — and fewer executive notes since the creators now wield greater power.
Back are Abe Lincoln (Will Forte), Cleopatra (Mitra Jouhari replacing Christa Miller), JFK (Chris Miller), and Joan of Arc (Nicole Sullivan). They are joined by new clone classmates Harriet Tubman (Ayo Edebiri), Frida Kahlo (Vicci Martinez), Confucius (Kelvin Yu), Topher Bus (Neil Casey as a canceled Christopher Columbus), and Sacagawea (Jana Schmieding). After 20 years, “Clone High” has returned with a second season after the teen animated series about a high school for clones of famous historical figures was revived by Max.
Created by Bill Lawrence, Chris Miller and Phil Lord, the show picks up two decades later after Abe (Will Forte), Cleo (Mitra Jouhari taking over for Christa Miller), JFK (Chris Miller) and Joan (Nichole Sullivan), among others, were frozen in the season 1 finale before the show was canceled over controversy related to one of its central characters, a young version of Gandhi (originally voiced by Michael McDonald).
While the series sees the main foursome returning after being thawed out in a very special season 2 premiere, Gandhi is not among them. In fact, the character is no longer part of the series, with “Clone High” revealing that he is still frozen.

There’s a funny little irony to the very existence of Max’s Clone High. Originally created for MTV in the early aughts, the animated comedy centers around a bunch of teenagers who are genetic copies of notable historical figures, reborn for a new era. Now the series itself has been resurrected with much the same DNA (creators Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Bill Lawrence all return, as do most of the voice cast), but in a whole new environment. But just as characters like Abe Lincoln (Will Forte), Joan of Arc (Nicole Sullivan) and JFK (Miller) adjust to their new normal, so too does Clone High, serving up a new season that feels every bit as silly and sharp as the show did the first time around.
Clone High couldn’t have known it at the time, but its first-season finale offered the perfect setup for a revival. In the 2003 episode,...

"Clone High" was a clever, silly animated show about genetic clones of famous historical figures — like Abe Lincoln, George Washington, and Marie Curie — getting sent to high school for an experiment. It served as a parody of high school dramas of the early 2000s like "Dawson's Creek" and "The O.C." And yet, the show quickly built an entertaining high school story of its own that was just as compelling, with the high concept shenanigans also letting the interpersonal romances breathe and shine.
The show was unceremoniously canceled by MTV due to both low ratings and protests about the portrayal of Gandhi in the series. Since then, creators Bill Lawrence, Phil Lord, and Chris Miller have all gone on to do rather impressive things. Lawrence co-created "Ted Lasso," and Lord and Miller helped revolutionize American animation with "Into the Spider-Verse."
But now, the clones are finally thawed, and "Clone High" is back,...

Clone High was easily one of my favourite animated shows, but the series was cancelled in 2003 after just thirteen episodes. Now, twenty years later, the clones are back! HBO Max has released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Clone High revival, which features the return of Abe, Joan, Cleo, JFK, and a few new faces.
The original Clone High series was created by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Bill Lawrence, all of whom have returned for the revival. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, directors of hits like "21 Jump Street" as well as the producers of "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," are at the top of the food chain in Hollywood these days -- but it wasn't always that way. Earlier on in their careers, when they were green, they made a little animated show called "Clone High" for MTV that, despite gaining critical acclaim and a loving audience, lasted just one season. Now though, the show is coming back on HBO Max, and we've got a brand new teaser trailer for the revival of this cult classic.
Lord and Miller have put their powers to use to bring back their beloved series, with original voice actors Will Forte and Nicole Sullivan returning as well. Lord is also back as Scudworth, Miller as JFK and Mr. B, Christa Miller as Candide Sampson, Donald Faison as George Washington Carver, and Judah Miller as Scangrade.

HBO has released a new trailer for the second season of its original series, "Avenue 5." The show was created by two-time Emmy Award-winner Armando Iannucci and stars Hugh Laurie ("House") and Josh Gad ("Beauty and the Beast"). If you haven't watched it yet, it's the story set about 40 years in the future aboard an interstellar spaceship. It's owned by clueless billionaire Herman Judd (Gad in a ponytail and some pretty wild outfits), who hired mainly attractive actors and models for his crew, so everyone would look good on the bridge and please the passengers. The ship itself is actually run by a second crew who weren't deemed pretty enough to be seen.
The titular space cruiser, Avenue 5, was supposed to be out on an eight-week cruise, but the death of an engineer and the temporary loss of artificial gravity changed their course. Instead of eight weeks, the ship would...

Hey everybody, remember that time Yahoo decided to get into the streaming game? No? Oh right… Well back in the mid 2000s Yahoo decided they would join Netflix in the streaming realm and, well, nobody really knew or bothered to look or care. All I myself really remember was there was something to do with Community and how they lost a whole bunch of money and that pretty much killed it. Yeah that’s pretty vague and I could probably sit here and Yahoo it but… I don’t want to!
But… There was always that one show. That one show that only ever had one season on the platform. That one show that has been spoken about in hushed voices since it was first aired. A show that garnered some...

Paul Feig is back with his sci-fi comedy series Other Space. It was originally aired on Yahoo! Screen back in 2015, but was cancelled shortly after, due to the platform being no longer viable. The digital platform Dust has now picked it up and is scheduled to host the series in August.
Other Space takes place in the distant future, the year 2105, where the Universal Mapping Projects (Ump) has been created by a multi-national corporate coalition. Their intention is – “to explore the universe for the purpose of scientific inquiry”. The main vessel that we see during the show is the Ump Cruiser, which apparently was once used as the setting for a reality show.
After a series of random and bizarre tests to see who should captain the ship, the title is soon given to the eager young man Stewart Lipinski (played by Karan Soni). Of course, the ambitious Stewart is...

Five years ago, one year before Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters hit theaters, the Bridesmaids comedy mastermind debuted a quirky, heartwarming science fiction series called Other Space. If you missed the streaming-only show back in 2015, the easiest way to describe the series would be Community meets The Orville, but better and more charming than both.
Other Space is like HBO’s Avenue 5 or Netflix’s Space Force, but funnier and far less cynical. And now, after a long absence, you can finally catch one of the best sci-fi shows you may have missed the first time around.
Check out a brand new trailer for the series right here…
In 2015, Other Space streamed exclusively on Yahoo! Screen. But after that service was shut down, the series didn’t return. But now, thanks to the new streaming service Dust, Other Space has found a new permanent home.

Silicon Valley was a wonderful sitcom for HBO that carefully traced and satirically commented on the tech boom. In our world, the companies were filled with geeks, nerds, and weirdos who were suddenly making millions off bits and bytes. There are the outsized figures who become household names and the financiers hoping to catch a rainbow. So, of course, it was an ideal setting for a series and it managed six seasons, despite interruptions and real-world distractions.
And here we are at the end. Warner Archive has just released Silicon Valley: the Complete Sixth Season on DVD. While the show was about technology and corporate America, it was also, at its core, about friends so it’s no surprise that through the start of Pied Piper through the final episode we still have Richard Hendricks (Thomas Middleditch), Bertram Gilfoyle (Martin Starr), and Dinesh Chugtal (Kumail Nanjiani).

On the heels of the launch of season 1, HBO has renewed comedy series Avenue 5 for a second season.
“We’ve loved every minute of Avenue 5’s inaugural voyage,” says Amy Gravitt, Evp HBO Programming. “Armando Iannucci and his team are masters of smart and incisive comedy, and the ensemble cast, brilliantly captained by Hugh Laurie, is second to none. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for our hapless heroes in season two.”
Created and executive produced by Veep creator Iannucci, Avenue 5 is set forty years in the future when traveling the solar system is no longer the stuff of sci-fi fantasy, but a booming, multibillion-dollar business. The series kicked off its nine-episode first season January 19.

Avenue 5 Episode 2
"Fly safe. Fly true," the mantra on the bridge of the Avenue 5 space ship, is a lie, forgery and irony wrapped in command indecision. The flight is hazardous and everything everyone thinks they know about what's going on is based on rubber stamped memos no one bothered to send transcribed from minutes no one was taking. Avenue 5, episode 2, "And Then He's Gonna Shoot Off…," begins with Captain Ryan Clark, played by Hugh Laurie, attempting to give the bad news about recent changes in travel plans. It doesn't go well. It barely goes at all because the most entitled of the guests aboard the space tourism vessel loses it at hello. "Don't insult us," Karen Kelly (Rebecca Front), resident rabble...

There’s a certain kind of comedy fan most likely to embrace a satire featuring lines like, “I don’t mean to be a Native American-giver, but now that my only child is a dog, would it be possible to get back the baby I gave you?”
If this head-spinning level of absurdity is your thing, “Greener Grass” will be, too. Writer-director-costar team Jocelyn DeBoer and Dawn Luebbe (former members of Upright Citizens Brigade) are sharp parodists, and they spare no one in their evisceration of suburban superficiality. But they’ve expanded this project from their original short film, and the lengthier treatment may incite some moments of okay-we-get-it antsiness from more impatient viewers.
The movie’s biggest asset is DeBoer, who plays sweetly dim soccer mom Jill with a commitment that’s alternately terrifying and heartbreaking. Jill, who works painfully hard to meet her community’s ideal, always wears...

In an industry increasingly enthused by the possibilities of world-building — or, more appropriately, the creation of worlds expressly for comic book movies that can sustain repeated films and planet-devastating battles while looking oddly familiar to the real world in the process — the ability for any filmmaker to craft something wholly unique and fully realized is still damningly rare. “Greener Grass” does it with two filmmakers. Directed, written by, produced by, and starring Jocelyn DeBoer and Dawn Luebbe, the Not everyone will vibe with the pair’s sharp upbraiding of the modern world, but those that dig what they throw down will love the inventive duo forever.

All right my dudes and lady dudes, stop quoting Guy Bilzerian’s law commercials because “Big Mouth” has now returned for its third season! To celebrate this great occasion, along with Netflix’s decision to renew the show through season six, we’re taking a look back at the show’s greatest episodes from the first two seasons and ranking all 21 of them from worst to best.
The show centers on a group of pre-teens who are being clobbered on all sides by puberty on both a physical level and an emotional one. The two main characters are Nick Birch (Nick Kroll) and Andrew Glouberman (John Mulaney), who are best friends but at different stages of puberty. It’s not kicking in for Nick, who still hasn’t even had a growth spurt, while it’s hit Andrew like a freight train. The effects of this include an early mustache and his own hormone monster,...

If you like overly saturated pastels, unhinged over-medicated housewives, and vicious takedowns of suburban social hierarchies, then “Greener Grass” is the fall comedy for you. The self-proclaimed “bizarro” film marks the directorial debut of filmmaking duo Jocelyn DeBoer and Dawn Luebbe, and was one of the surprise hits of the Sundance Film Festival’s Midnight section, known for hosting the festival’s zaniest genre offerings. IFC Midnight released the first official trailer today, offering a look at this avant-garde suburban satire from two singular new comedic voices.
The official synopsis reads: “In a day-glo-colored, bizarro version of suburbia where adults wear braces on their already-straight teeth, everyone drives golf carts, and children magically turn into golden retrievers, soccer moms and best friends Jill (DeBoer) and Lisa (Luebbe) are locked in a passive aggressive battle-of-the-wills that takes a turn into the sinister when Lisa begins systematically taking over every aspect of...

IFC Midnight acquired the U.S. rights to “Greener Grass,” a dark comedy starring “The Good Place’s” D’Arcy Carden and “SNL” star Beck Bennett that made its premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, the distributor announced Wednesday.
“Greener Grass” is based on a 2016 short film of the same name that won the Special Jury Recognition for Writing prize at SXSW. It stars, is written and directed by alumni of the Upright Citizens Brigade, Jocelyn DeBoer and Dawn Luebbe.
“Greener Grass” is a deliciously twisted comedy set in a demented, timeless suburbia where every adult wears braces on their straight teeth, couples coordinate meticulously pressed outfits, and coveted family members are swapped in more ways than one in this competition for acceptance. The film is a twist on everyday suburban life – both a love letter and an “Fu” – where the characters make life-altering decisions on a whim...

Somewhere in a strange corner of suburbia lives two married couples: Nick (Beck Bennett) and Jill (Jocelyn DeBoer) & Lisa (Dawn Luebbe) and Dennis (Neil Casey). While the two women are constantly competing with one another, practicing a kooky version of passive-aggression, the men bop around like idiots. At one point early on, the two pairs make out for an extended period of time only to realize they’re kissing the wrong person. In another scene, a baby is gifted from one mother to another, just because.
Written and directed by DeBoer and Luebbe, this is a very specific type of comedy. It recalls something like Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie or the viral Too Many Cooks. Irreverent, non-sensical, and awkward, this film introduces its world then doubles down scene after scene. Absurd things happen that are met with pedestrian reactions and vice versa. Bennett, the Saturday Night Live veteran,...

What would it take to make you happy: A different house? A different wife? Or maybe an altogether different life? Before you go coveting your neighbor’s fill-in-the-blank, you owe it to yourself to watch “Greener Grass,” an odd and wonderfully upbeat absurdist take on the American dream from improv comedians turned independent filmmakers Jocelyn DeBoer and Dawn Luebbe, who’ve imagined an upper-middle-class community where domestic bliss always seems to be just one lifestyle tweak away.
Just a sample of what that means: In the opening scene, a pair of soccer moms sit chatting on the sidelines of their sons’ match. “Oh, my gosh, I didn’t even notice. You have a new baby!” Lisa Wetbottom (Luebbe) notes appreciatively, to which her friend Jill Davies (DeBoer) beams with pride, revealing ultra-white teeth wired with braces. “Do you want her? She’s great,” Jill says, and cheerily proceeds to hand...
