Since Chicago Fire Season 5 Episode 13 aired on Valentine's Day it was appropriate that the featured story was about Kelly Severide and his ongoing interest in Anna.
Severide went to Springfield this week, but didn't get the happy ending he was looking for. Neither did anyone else, unless you count the guy that Herrmann helped land a job.
Severide traveled to the Springfield Fire Department to consider Dennis Mack's offer to become the new Battalion Chief. Naturally he stopped by Springfield Med to find Anna and tell her about the news. But she surprised him by telling him not to give up Chicago for her.
Still, Severide hung onto the idea, telling Stella that it wasn't just about Anna but also about his not wanting to turn into his father. He has a point but he can also start by getting a hold of his romantic life. And not trying to...

Over the course of our lives, our real-life parents can teach us important lessons and skills but TV parents can teach us a lot of things too -- sometimes in 22 minutes or less. From Ward Cleaver to Al Bundy, TV fathers run the whole gamut of ideal to awful. But what do you think?
Who's the best dad on television, past or present? Is it the Festivus-loving Frank Constanza? The goofy Phil Dunphy? Classic Jim Anderson on Father Knows Best? Fun loving Louis Huang on Fresh Off the Boat? Maybe even the menacing meth kingpin Walter White?
We want to know. Tell us in the comments who you think is the best dad on television.

There are few British filmmakers that come with the reputation and pedigree than that of Ken Loach. In the approach of the release of his politically-minded documentary The Spirit of ’45 we were fortunate enough to sit down and speak with the notorious director.
Sitting in a rather quaint office at Loach’s production company Sixteen Films in Soho, we discussed his own memories of 1945, and how he feels Britain is today in comparison to the rather jubilant era. We also speak about those interviewed in the feature, his decision to make this as a feature film, and – given the director’s strong political allegiances, we also get into a rather fascinating, if somewhat disheartening conversation…
You can find out more and book tickets to the movie here.
1945 was such a pivotal year, do you think there has been a more defining year in Modern British politics?

I know, I know: you all dream of working for Stephen Colbert. You imagine he would be the greatest boss in the world – kind of like a super-cool Jim Anderson father to your inner Kathy or Bud. I imagine working for Stephen on ‘The Colbert Report’ is kind of like working for Db on the No Fact Zone: a cool boss, funny and talented work-mates, and an intelligent and appreciative audience that joins in the fun. But then I watch the show and think. “why does he treat his staff so badly??”
I love the alternative reality crafted by ‘The Colbert Report’, an absurd dimension that manages to convey truth. And Stephen Colbert perfectly plays the self absorbed idiot. It-getters understand his generosity of spirit and intelligence are always just below the surface. That’s why The Nation responded so heartily from the very beginnings of the show – it’s...

I’ve been asked to do a “best of” sort of post to close things out. My best of is sort of a “behind the scenes” experience that brought me to this site a long while ago.
So, where to begin?
Although I’ve only been a Completist a short while here, I’ve been a lurker and a follower of No Fact Zone for quite a while. I used my LiveJournal account as a means to follow Nfz ever since a memorable event, not only in my experience as a fan, but also as a milestone in the progress of the show itself: Rock and Awe: Countdown to Guitarmageddon! It all began with the first ever green screen challenge, followed by the coattail riding antics of the Decemberists and the subsequent rivalry that ensued. It culminated with the final show on December 20th, 2006 – a show that sealed the The...

Remember that 1950′s sitcom titled Father Knows Best? Well, if you do, then you’ll be happy to hear that a movie is coming and that Michael McCullers, Baby Mama helmer, will be in charge for directing the whole thing.
He will actually “update” the screenplay as well. With McCullers on board, we guess that this could be an interesting new version of the well-known story.
I’m sure you all know that Father Knows Best began as a radio program in 1949 and evolved into a television series that ran from 1954 to 1960, with Robert Young and Jane Wyatt in the leading roles. It was set in the typical Midwestern community of Springfield, where Jim Anderson was an agent for the General Insurance Company.
Every evening he would come home from work, take off his sport jacket, put on his comfortable sweater, and deal with the everyday problems of a growing family.
