Another grand addition to the traditional “Brit Flick” stable, featuring murder, intrigue, deception, drama and a twist-y turn-y plot that will leave you wondering “Who can you trust when the truth is buried in A Landscape of Lies” In a sea of gritty Brit flicks, half the battle can often be finding one that first of all grabs your attention but once they have it they can keep it? A Landscape of Lies, on paper, sounds right up my Sesame (Street, bit of rhyming for you there). It’s British, it’s fairly low budget and the cast is a veritable smorgasbord of “Hey, that’s him from that other movie I liked” or “Oh crap, its her… nice”. The performances are The area where the indie movie can...

Bashar Al Issa, a bankrupt Middle Eastern entrepreneur and Aoife Madden, an unemployed Irish actress join up to make feature films. Their first movie will have an almost unheard-of budget for a British film of £20m. But there’s a problem – the money never actually comes in. Undeterred, Bashar and Aoife submit £8m of production accounts to the British taxman and claim £2.5m in film tax breaks. The authorities smell a rat. They investigate, arrest, and charge the producers, and then bail them.
While out on bail, the producers decide to prove their innocence by actually making a film. They hire Paul Knight, a former nightclub bouncer, now a self-made film director, whose credits are some unreleased and unfinished films uploaded to Youtube, to make their movie for just a £100,000. The title: “A Landscape of Lies.” Paul Knight recruits an unusual cast that include one of the presenters of ITV’s daytime show Loose Women,...

Usually it wouldn’t bode well for a film when a) it has a generic title like Vampires; and b) when you discover it’s actual title is Bloodless, the very opposite of what you want from a vampire movie… Give me flesh-tearing vampires ripping people apart anyday thanks! But, all prejudices aside, I was still willing to give this British scary movie a shot – mainly in part to one of the films stars, Victoria Hopkins, and its producer, Steve O’Brien. Both names whom you probably aren’t that familiar with but both of whom worked on Zombie Women of Satan. A film who – even to this day – it seems like I’m the only fan of (that was certainly the case after its screening at Frightfest in 2009).

Okay, here's the idea behind Zombie Carnage (currently in pre-production but carrying a pretty kick-ass trailer already): Take one part The Running Man, one part Enter the Dragon, add a healthy dose of zombie violence and all the fun of "The Price is Right", and you've got Zombie Carnage.
E=MC2 productions, a UK-based horror production company, is working on Zombie Carnage, its first feature film. Currently raising funds for production, the team has already nailed down some interesting names to attach to the project. Craig Charles (Red Dwarf) and Victoria Hopkins (Dog House and Zombie Women of Satan) will star. Other contributors include Academy Award winner Dave Elsey on make-up, prosthetic master John Schoonraad and F/X supervisor Alex Gunn.
Filmmakers hope to begin shooting the project in early 2012, looking to "create an entertaining blood-pumping thrill ride of a movie that all horror fans will love." Going by the trailer,...

Miss Zombie Queen UK 2010 was announced this past Wednesday evening as Von, a self-described “metal-loving, living dead girl” from East London. Dancing her way to victory with stage blood during the speciality round of the event sent both judges and the crowd wild to walk away with the inaugural Miss Zombie Queen UK beauty pageant title as well as cash and voucher prizes and the chance to appear in Warren Speed’s sequel to Zombie Women of Satan, released on DVD June 21st by Revolver Entertainment.
Winner Von, in the speciality round, performed a Zombie school girl strip with a bottle of fake blood to the sound of Rob Zombies ‘Living Dead Girl’ . The two runners-up were Misty Moores (an “undercover agent and all round swell gal” who likes “likes swinging, jiving, ducking and diving,”) and Collette Von Tora who described herself as a “Zombie freak extraordinaire who has been...
