The new releases just keep coming here in 2023, and while Scream VI continues to slash up the screen, another Nine brand new horror movies are coming along in its wake this week.

From Universal Pictures, Cocaine Bear was released in theaters on February 24, the film gobbling its way to a $51 million domestic haul. Worldwide, the current total is $65 million.

It’s hard enough living in an inhospitable climate without also having to deal with a giant, man-eating lizard. Yet in The Beast Below (originally titled Leio: The Terrible Giant), that’s exactly what the unaware characters have to look forward to as they search for water in the desert. This new monster movie, one of several “Thaiju” flicks to come out in the last year, is more an exercise in visual effects than it is a vehicle for creative storytelling or character work, however director Chalit Krileadmongkon still manages to dig up surface-level entertainment.

On March 14, 2023, the freshly titled The Beast Below will be available on major online retailers as well as in Walmart stores nationwide from 4Digital Media.

A trio of monster and horror films comprise first Filmart line-up.
New Thai production and sales company Neramitnung Film is launching its market debut at Filmart Online with a trio of monster and horror films, building on the success of box office hit 4 Kings.
The slate includes monster features Leio and The 100, both directed by visual effects specialist Chalit Krileadmongkon.
Leio is billed as an adventure comedy that follows a once-famous singer, played by former pop star Pichaya Nitipaisalkul, who returns to his hometown and takes part in a water field drilling contest, hoping to win a large cash prize.
