CBS is debuting a revamped daily streaming politics show American Decides, which will feature a team of the network anchors and correspondents.
Set to debut on May 1, America Decides will feature Robert Costa, Caitlin Huey-Burns, Major Garrett, Ed O’Keefe, Nikole Killion, Scott MacFarlane, Weijia Jiang and Nancy Cordes. The show will stream on CBS News Streaming at 5 p.m. Et Monday through Thursday, re-airing at 6 p.m. Et and 9 p.m. Et. That slot is currently occupied by Red & Blue, which launched six years ago.
Robert Gifford, CBS News vice president and managing editor, said in a statement that they “aim to bring a fresh perspective that will leave viewers more informed, offering facts without opinion, and allow newsmakers to speak in a venue that goes beyond soundbites.”
The show will be based in Washington, and also will feature Anthony Salvanto, CBS News elections and surveys director, with the latest polling.

Nacho-loving rivals Guy Fieri and Bill Murray are teaming up for a “Nacho Average Showdown” virtual nacho-making competition on May 15 to raise awareness and donations for the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund (Rerf).

The live event will provide some laughs and raise funds for America’s restaurant workers facing financial hardship due to the Covid-19 crisis. Currently, eight million restaurant workers are unemployed.
Rerf was created by industry icon, Guy Fieri, chef and host of the Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, and the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (Nraef). The Fund provides restaurant workers with $500 grants, and 100 percent of all donations go directly to Rerf.

So I wake up after tossing and turning all night over the Coronavirus crisis, tune into CBS News This Morning, and there are hosts Mary Calvi and Chris Wragge standing in the pouring rain, the awning for the CBS Broadcast Center in the background. They are talking about how the building – the New York nerve center for numerous network and local newscasts – is shut again for precautionary reasons. Closed last week after people began testing positive for Covid-19, the building began to reopen with skeleton crews, but now it’s closed again. The local anchors cut to La-based Hermela Aregawi, who quarterbacked the newscast and introduced numerous CBS News This Morning journalists, all standing in the rain, in streets all over New York.
