It's not Alex Rodriguez's baseball career or possible Hall of Fame induction that impresses his daughters. His two girls, Natasha and Ella, are most impressed with their dad's girlfriend Jennifer Lopez. "My daughters think of dad as a hero now for the first time. It's amazing," the former New York Yankees player said while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live. "They think they went to Heaven, and now they're hanging out with Jennifer backstage. They're dancing. They're singing with her." Rodriguez also said that his daily FaceTime calls with his daughters have changed in that they now call more often and ask for the "Jenny From the Block"...

No one is more pleased about J-Rod than Alex Rodriguez’s daughters. The former New York Yankees star, 42, and sports correspondent spoke with Jimmy Kimmel on Monday about his romance with Jennifer Lopez, revealing his daughters are thrilled by the match.
“My daughters think their dad’s a hero now, for the first time,” he quipped of his daughters Tashi, 12, and Ella, 9. “They think they went to heaven. Now they’re hanging out with Jennifer backstage, they’re dancing, they’re singing with her.”
He also noted that his relationship is the reason he gets to see his daughters even more.
“We usually call at least once a day on FaceTime, now they call three, four, five times,” he said, laughing. “It’s funny because when I pick up the phone, I’m like, ‘Hi Tashi, hi Ella,’ and I can see them. They’re like, ‘Hey Daddy,’ and they’re looking around behind me. And I’m like...

Plenty of tears (and time outs) ahead! Now that The Bachelorette is over, Jimmy Kimmel has a new reality spin-off for Bachelor Nation. The late night host debuted Baby Bachelor in Paradise during his Monday show, and it didn’t disappoint.

Miss last week’s episode? Want a quick reminder? Check out our recap.
It takes a poisoning, a spilled secret and some unfortunately placed hickies, but Outlander‘s Claire and Jamie are once more in accord — and just in time, thank the gods.
That’s because the Frasers will have to marshal all of their combined resources to combat the growing threat that is Le Comte St. Germain, who makes not one but two (we suspect) deadly plays for Lady Broch Tuarach in this week’s episode. More importantly, who wants an Outlander where Jamie and Claire aren’t shagging on the regular?...

Though their circumstances, carnal endurance and cheekbones suggest otherwise, Outlander‘s Jamie and Claire are, in fact, only human. Isn’t it nice to see, as we do in this week’s episode, that a bit of stress and a lack of sleep make them as susceptible to the same everyday bitchery as the rest of us?
Perhaps my current situation makes me a little sensitive to this kind of thing: Having a 1-year-old daughter offers me many gifts, but an overabundance of patience is not one of them, and my by-all-measures-amazing husband sometimes becomes the unintended target of my exhaustion.

That’s really the only acceptable response to this week’s Outlander, unless your vocabulary and/or heritage means you’ve got a long stream of Gaelic curses handy for the yelling. Because good God, guys: Black Jack Randall is alive.
I don’t say that with surprise; like many of you, I’m familiar with the books and knew this moment was coming even before the first time Randall leered at Claire in the woods. Still, though, the mere idea that Randall lives — and that Jamie may eventually learn of his existence, too — is a juicy...

Because Twitter deleted all the entries for our Ice Road Truckers contest, we're relaunching this one.
The History Channel has been branching out over the years in terms of programming, and it has found a genuine hit in the Ice Road Truckers series. Not a whole lot happens, but people love it all the same. If you're one such person, then you can now win a copy of its third season on Blu-ray. And, with all JustPressPlay contests, the way to do it is remarkably simple.
You just have to do two things to win:
1) "Like" JustPressPlay on Facebook (by clicking that link or on the box below "What's Hot" in the right hand column)
2) On our Facebook Wall, comment on the Ice Road Truckers Giveaway post telling us you want to win
The contest ends November 2, 2010. Good luck.
You'll find an official synopsis after the jump.

While it’s true that most of us Rejects write about films because we’re not quite bright enough to deal with the real world, so we live in fantasy land. Every now and then though, one of us, in a moment of confusion, ends up watching The History Channel and accidentally being exposed to something that could potentially teach us. This scares us and to get rid of the memories, we gather up anything that reminds us of that unpleasant experience and give it away. What I’m really trying to say is that The History Channel, our buds, gave us a pretty sweet prize package to celebrate Ice Road Truckers: Deadliest Roads hitting the air and we figured you guys like free stuff, so we’re giving it to you. Part of this deal is that we do the monkey dance and make you read the official copy, which...

Ice Road Truckers has always been one of those shows that just missed me. Reality shows frequently have trouble getting the final experience to match up with their on paper sell, but Irt worked that problem in the opposite direction of most. When I first heard about the show, I couldn’t imagine the interest. Well, apart from a certain Nascar “maybe a truck will go in the drink” sort of interest. Amazingly, the show has delivered, and the ratings show that I’m not alone in thinking so.
Still, as I mentioned, the show didn’t completely hook me. The crew is taking things up a notch now with Ice Road Trucker Deadliest Roads, and it’s hard to deny that this one makes it difficult to look away. We’ve moved to a job hauling loads in the Himalayas, on roads where on average someone dies every 4.5 minutes.

If you thought the ice roads of Alaska were tough-trucking, you ain't seen nothing yet.
Lisa Kelly, Rick Yemm and Alex Debogorski of The History Channel's 'Ice Road Truckers' fame are leaving the frozen tundra of the Dalton Highway for the out-of-this-world trucking action of the Himalayan Mountains on a new spinoff, 'Irt: Deadliest Roads' (premiering Sun., Oct. 3 at 10Pm Et).
Look for the guys and gal to navigate the crowded streets of Delhi -- locals aren't very attentive to traffic signals over there -- and the Himalayan roadways, which date back to 206 B.C. The Himalayan route, first built for yaks, has historically connected Central Asia with South Asia and provided a bridge among the cultures of India, China, Afghanistan, Nepal and Bhutan.
TV Squad spoke with Kelly, who calls Wasilla, Alaska home, about her trip to the Himalayas and the challenges...

"Irt: Deadliest Roads", is a new reality series premiering October 3, 2010 on History.
"..'Ice Road Truckers: Deadliest Roads', takes some of the toughest truckers from one of History's most popular programs and challenges them to haul their way through a new kind of hell on earth. 'Irt: Deadliest Roads' will test everything the ice truckers have learned in more than 40 combined years of driving, forcing them to adapt to white-knuckle road and driving conditions unlike anything they have ever faced.
"From the crowded streets of Delhi to treacherously steep, narrow and congested roads blasted into the mountainside, they're about to embark on an exhilarating, exhausting and terrifying adventure. India's Himalayan roadways are among the most historic on the planet. Dating back to 206 B.C., the Himalayas were an integral part of the famous Silk Routes, connecting Central Asia with South Asia, and creating a bridge between culturally and religiously diverse countries such as India,...

When Discovery Channel introduced The Deadliest Catch they may have irreparably altered the path of reality television. For one, it was actually depicting reality—albeit one very few ever encounter—and in a way that compelled viewership. How did it do this? It introduced a tension that no other reality series had been able to create: an actual sense of danger. Fear Factor featured a series of gross-out stunts that were highly supervised, relying more on its contestants’ own irrational cowardice than any real danger. Survivor’s title seemed to hint at competitors dying off one by one, but really, in the worst case scenario someone might faint from heat exhaustion and be flown home. Everything was just a bunch of immature people collected in a house complaining about one another. There was never any sense of danger or importance. At the very least, The Deadliest Catch had crab fisherman...

Ice Road Truckers - DVD Review
I once had a job where it was my job to obtain truck freight.
As I made my way all across the Us I realized that everything that we get in this country is obtained by the trucking industry. Bottom line. From the keyboards that you and I write on, the chairs we sit in, the produce and food we eat, the clothes we wear, everything gets here by truck.
That’s why knowing this information makes for a good primer in understanding why Season Three of Ice Road Truckers is such a thrill to watch. While not necessarily family entertainment, some of these road dogs are a bit salty, the program continues to feed my...

Let me say this right now: I grew up in New Jersey. This said, you should be aware that schools are closed for even a few inches of snow. People from New Jersey simply can’t drive in the snow. I don’t know if it’s just a mentality, or the fact that you are probably supposed to go below the speed limit or what, but we can’t do it, at least, not well. So I have a lot of respect for people who can, especially if they are driving on the most dangerous road in the United States.
The cast of Ice Road Truckers: Season Three are doing just that as they travel the Dalton Highway in Alaska for Carlile Transportation. Show veterans Hugh “The Polar Bear” Rowland and Alex Debogorski are joined by several newcomers, including the show’s first female driver, resident hottie and tomboy Lisa Kelly.
