Plot: Mark O'Brien (John Hawke) is a thirty-eight year old writer-poet who, due to polio, is essentially paralyzed from the neck down, and spends most of his time in an iron lung. Due to his disability, he's a virgin, but while writing an article on the sex lives of disabled people, he's given the number of a sex surrogate (Helen Hunt) who- in six sessions, will make it possible for Mark to truly experience physical intimacy. Fox Searchlight has moved up the release date of "The Sessions," Ben Lewin's film starring John Hawke and Helen Hunt, to Oct. 19, the studio announced on Friday. The film -- formerly titled "The Surrogates" -- was originally scheduled to open Oct. 28. Also: Can 'Beasts of the Southern Wild' Go From Film Fest Sensation to Commercial Hit? This is shaping up as 2011′s lousiest box office weekend in North America with only $70M total grosses. Yes, even worse than Hurricane Irene’s. A lot of surprises in this weekend’s numbers and a fuller analysis is coming. But no surprise which new North American movie is No. 1: 1. Whoa unto us who cannot afford a week in the snowy Utah mountains. I'm dying to see Vera Farmiga's directorial debut but otherwise I have poured over precious few Sundance articles. There was too much Oscar noise this week to give it much thought. But here's what Sundance went for with a passion.
