Like all the best reality TV shows, “Shahs of Sunset” is a character-driven franchise that has been a guilty pleasure for many viewers. You may love the “Shahs of Sunset” stars or love to hate them. You may roll your eyes at their antics or applaud them. Either way, the cast is why many kept returning to the show that aired on Bravo for nine seasons.

Shahs of Sunset may be saying goodbye. The Bravo series is on "indefinite pause," a source told E! News on April 7. Shahs—which follows a group of Persian-American friends living in Los Angeles—was never formally renewed after season nine concluded in August 2021. The show first premiered in 2012 and originally starred Reza Farahan, Golnesa "Gg" Gharachedaghi, Sammy Younai, Asa Soltan Rahmati, Mike Shouhed and Mercedes "Mj" Javid. "Shahs of Sunset" will be joining Bravo's Sunday night lineup on December 2, for a "Farsi-filled fun" second season.
According to the network, this year finds Reza Faharan "in a full-blown self-proclaimed 'gaylife crisis.'" He'll be joined by series regulars Asa "A$A" Soltan Rahmatia, Mercedes "Mj'' Javid, Mike Shouhed and Golnesa "Gg'' Gharachedaghi as they navigate career and relationship pressures in Los Angeles' Persian-American community.
There's also been some cast restructuring: Real estate developer Sammy Younai has left the show, and Lilly Ghalichi (an attorney/swimwear designer -- seriously) is in the mix now.
Watch the trailer below, which promises plenty of partying, tears, and signature Tehrangeles shenanigans to keep audiences entertained this winter. "Shahs" returns on December 2 at 9/10c.
