It's always a bit of a balancing act when it comes to portraying serial killers in media. With the extreme popularity of the recent Netflix series, "Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story," discourse surrounding the morality of featuring real-life murderers in entertainment has been prominent in many circles. Family members of Dahmer's real-life victims have called out the show for exploiting the tragic stories of their relatives. Many believe that the show glorifies a man who horrifically killed mostly Black men and boys. You can certainly argue that the show doesn't glorify Dahmer, but with there being so many Jeffrey Dahmer costumes on eBay that they had to ban them from the platform, it's clear that many people are engaging with Dahmer as if he were a fictional character.
This sort of moral quandary in filmmaking isn't just limited to serial killers, and actor Paul Dano has grappled...

Finally, some big news comes out about the upcoming Arkham Asylum series. Currently, the world of Batman has seen multiple headlines in a manner of weeks as news about the new Penguin series and Joker 2 has come to light. Interestingly enough, The Batman 2 still hasn’t been greenlit by Warner Bros. Discovery, though the studio is clearly all in on Matt Reeves’ vision of Gotham City. Part of that vision is Arkham Asylum, an HBO series that will follow the criminals of Gotham City. The infamous place was showcased heavily in the latest Batman feature, with The Riddler and

Earlier this year “The Batman” introduced us to a terrifying new version of classic villain The Riddler. And now the actor that played the character, Paul Dano, is exploring this version of the Riddler’s tragic backstory in a new comic book series – “The Riddler: Year One.” Now, a new video, timed to the release of the first issue, sheds some light on its secret origins (watch below).
The shocking story of a forensic account turned Gotham City super-villain, written by the Riddler himself.

Back in the ancient times before the advent of pop culture websites, us film and TV nerds had to scrounge for our movie news in some really weird places. I vividly remember stumbling across a bit of rumor mill gossip in the family's copy of TV Guide, of all places, that concerned Robin Williams and "Batman," and it always stuck with me.
We knew that Tim Burton was working a sequel to the 1989 box office smash, but didn't know what it was about at that time and the TV Guide writer was absolutely positive that the villain for "Batman 2" (as they called it) was going to be The Riddler played by none other than Robin Williams. My mind raced at this possibility, picturing the manic energy of Williams going up against the dark, brooding Michael Keaton Batman.
So, when Danny DeVito was announced as playing The Penguin I remember being disappointed.

Ever get a feeling of déjà vu while you're watching The X Factor? That's because after 11 series and hundreds of contestants, the live shows have seen a whopping 728 tracks performed so far. But like a wedding DJ reaching for his failsafe party anthems CD, the top five most popular songs have been dusted off and rolled out over 33 times between them.
Our geeky rules state that we're counting all live show performances and group songs, but not repeat performances from the same act in the same series.
=5. 'Feeling Good': 6 performances
Performed by: Beverley Trotman, Rachel Hylton, Stacey Solomon, James Arthur, Rebecca Ferguson, Andrea Faustini
Made famous by Nina Simone, this classic usually pops up in the traditional 'Big Band Week', and is a good excuse for an act to show off their sultry side. Stacey had a go with Michael Bublé in 2009, while Andrea tried out a more powerhouse version last year.

It's Fright Night on The X Factor this week and boy, wouldn't you know it! Not only are the acts all singing 'Fright Night'-themed songs (or, well, they're supposed to be) but one of them will be booted out before the night is out after Simon Cowell got fed up with them all for not trying hard enough. If that's not all scary enough, The Script will be popping along to perform.
So join us when the show starts at 8pm as we find out who gives us thrills and who gives us chills. And, of course, who's having a right nightmare and will have to leave the competition...

The X Factor has helped launch the career of dozens of pop acts over the last decade. It has also given us Chico Time. You win some, you lose some.
Here is our definitive ranking of the 15 most ludicrous acts to ever grace Saturday nights on ITV.
15. Rylan
Rylan was already a regular on the reality TV circuit before The X Factor (he was a runner-up in the Sky Living monstrosity Signed By Katie Price), and he was a little bit more knowing and calculated than genuinely bonkers.
However, even if those floods of tears at Nicole Scherzinger's Judges' Houses were staged, they were staged brilliantly. The perfect I'm-mad-me contestant after a decade of near misses.
14. 2 Shoes
Charley Bird and Lucy Texeira were harmless and fairly innocuous as a pop duo. They spoke only in Essex slang ("Roll!") and insisted on calling each other "shoe", but the most ludicrous...

In just over 24 hours' time, the 11 finalists on Britain's Got Talent will take to the stage one last time in an attempt to prove their worth (and win some money and a spot in the Royal Variety Show, of course). While it's hard to believe, the victorious act will be the eighth to take the crown.
Over the years, there has been a bit of a range of acts - we've had everything from dancers (George Sampson and Diversity) to singers (Paul Potts, Jai McDowall) to a gymnastic dance troupe (Spelbound) to a dog (Ashleigh & Pudsey) to well, whatever you would count Attraction as.
So, a variety, then. But this year, the complaints about too many singers - which have always bubbled in the background - have really started to gain ground. Are there just too many this year?

Sam Bailey, Luke Friend and Nicholas McDonald. These are our X Factor final three. The most uninspiring bunch of finalists since the grim days of series four, when Rhydian and Leon duked it out to a bore draw.
And even that series had Same Difference to help lighten the mood.
What have we got this year? We'll have to make do with Nicole Scherzinger waffling on about mushrooms and Sam Bailey's "balls".
This weekend's semi-final saw us bid farewell to Rough Copy, the final act in the competition that didn't have the energy levels and personality of a sloth.
Unfortunately, the trio were just a bit too odd for X Factor voters.
From their leather vests, bow-ties and backpack fancy dress combos to the giddy post-performance interviews with Dermot (did anyone think to point out that their "Rc!" chat sounded a lot like "arsey"?), they were never going to...

Paul Potts has revealed that he turned down a cameo role in the upcoming film about his life, One Chance.
James Corden will portray the very first Britain's Got Talent winner in the rags-to-riches biopic, to be released later this year.
Producers reportedly asked Potts and his wife Julie-Ann to appear as guests for the re-enactment of his own wedding for the film, but he found it too "bizarre".
He told The Sun: "Someone said maybe Julie and I should sit in the back of the church as part of the congregation at our own wedding but that would have been just too bizarre.
"It would have been real Hitchcock that would, because Hitchcock used to do that kind of thing.
"There wasn't the opportunity of another cameo because I was in and out of the country while they were making it so we couldn't have planned for anything like that.

Former X Factor runner up Rhydian Roberts has claimed that judge Louis Walsh doesn’t give a s**t about the ITV show.
The Welsh opera singer was pipped to the post by Leon Jackson in 2007 and was mentored by Australian judge Dannii Minogue.
Speaking to The News Of The World about the judges’ attitude to the talent competition, Roberts said:
“Cheryl, Dannii and Simon take their roles very seriously. Louis, on the other hand, finds it all hilarious and basically doesn’t give a s**t.
“But Louis is crucial to the panel because he adds the fun element.”
Mary Byrne also claimed that the Irish star is the most relaxed judge on the show.
The Dublin mum of one was responding to a question in her weekly video diary, when she admitted that the Irish star is really ‘funny behind the scenes’ of the ITV series. She said:
It’s definitely Louis.

Paloma Faith has admitted that she would love to judge on ITV’s X Factor.
The “Stone Cold Sober” singer recently tweeted that she’d like a job on the talent show, writing:
“I want to guest judge The X Factor!!!! Pleeeeeeeeeease Mr Cowell please!”
She later told Pa:
“I’ve tweeted that I’d like to be a guest judge on The X Factor, which I don’t think is likely, but I just think it would be nice for them to have someone who’s got something interesting to say on there,” she said.
Faith is currently backing the BT Digital Music Awards and she admits that the music business is finally coming to terms with the digital situation. She added:
“I think initially, the record industry struggled a lot with digital media because there a lot of aspects to it that can potentially destroy our industry, for example torrents and illegal downloading.

ITV have offered Simon Cowell a whopping £24 million contract but have warned the music mogul that it will be their final offer.
Cowell’s contract with the TV channel finishes this year and he has seemed unsure about whether he wants to continue making The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent here, when he is being offered such lucrative work in America. Contract discussions have been running on for week’s and ITV are now said to be growing weary of the wrangling.

Brother and sister act Same Difference have admitted that X Factor bosses forced them to mime, when they returned to perform their single on the show.
Sarah and Sean Smith competed in the 2007 series and finished third behind Leon Jackson and Rhydian Roberts. In 2008 they returned to the ITV show and performed their track “We R One.”
However, they have revealed that despite being desperate to sing live, producers told them that they could either lip synch, or not perform at all.
Sarah told The Sun: “We sang live from the beginning on The X Factor. But when we came back on to perform our first single we were told we had to mime.
“Because we’d got a lot of stick from people saying we couldn’t sing we really wanted to prove ourselves.

ITV chief executive Adam Crozier has insisted that Simon Cowell will not be moving The X Factor to Five, no matter how hard Richard Desmond tries to win his favour.
When he bought over the ailing TV channel last month, Desmond admitted that he would like to poach both The X Factor and Coronation Street.
However, Crozier says there is no possibility of this happening. He told The Mirror:
“Richard, thanks for trying…There’s a very short answer to that and it’s a very large no.
“We’ve got a longstanding relationship with Simon Cowell. One of the terrific things about him is his relentless pursuit of perfection and improvement and I think we share that. Jointly we are focused on that and nothing else.”

Simon Cowell has reportedly signed a deal with video game producers, who will turn his ever popular X Factor series into a game for the Wii, Playstation, Xbox and Nintendo DS.
The game, which sounds incredibly similar to Singstar, will see hopefuls singing into a microphone before being judged by Mr Cowell and the other judges, Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue. Familiar catchphrases and iconic put-downs will be loaded onto the disc, so you feel like you are taking part in a real life X factor audition.
The game will be released this autumn and an insider told The Sun: “There are millions of people across the world who want to be on one of Simon’s shows, so this gets them a step closer.

X Factor judge Cheryl Cole has claimed that while she has no real style icon, she does turn often to her Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts for beauty tips.
The ‘3 Words’ singer told Stv: “Who is my style icon? I can’t name anybody. I think now I’m 26, I know what stuff fits and what doesn’t, what stuff looks good and what to avoid. I know what suits me now.
“Nicola’s always got something in the pipeline. You can ring her and she’ll always have a new trick – her recent thing was shaving legs with oil.
“I think the most beautiful thing about a woman is when she’s just herself.”

Ashley, from Kent, told The News Of The World: “I walked into this dance class at a church and it was like I was David Beckham or something. It was amazing.

The 27-year-old said: “I used to sing in the shower, it’s where I found my voice, but not now. I don’t want to disturb the neighbours.
“Taking my kit off wasn’t something I expected to do, but as it was for a great cause I changed my mind.

Louis Walsh recently claimed that X Factor stars John and Edward Grimes would make £2 million this year but it seems as though the cash has not yet starting rolling in.
On an appearance on The Graham Norton Show to air this Monday, the twins admit that one of their cash cards has been cancelled due to insufficient funds and reveal that they don’t really care about money, just about their fans.
John told Graham Norton: “It’s not a big deal. At the end of the day, people go ‘yeah I am paying you this’.
“It’s just a figure and I just think you should be successful. We still go to all the sales, we are the same guys.”
When Norton asked him if he had a cash card, John replied: “I don’t know, it doesn’t work.”
Norton then blasted:”Louis Walsh, these boys, you’re bleeding them dry.

Simon Cowell has passed on the chance to sign X Factor stars Olly Murs, Stacey Solomon and Danyl Johnson to his record label.
A source told The News Of The World: “Simon has decided he won’t have anything to do with them in a professional sense going forward.
“He doesn’t have anything against the guys but wants to concentrate on turning Joe McElderry into a star. They’ve got a contract with Butlins to perform at summer school holiday gigs. And they’re making £100,000 from The X Factor tour – but this is still a massive blow.”
Last night a spokeswoman for Cowell’s label Syco added: “We never guarantee contracts for anyone other than the X Factor winner and this year we’ve decided to focus on Joe.
“However, we understand there is interest in other finalists from many parts of the musical industry and we hope they all do very well.

Former X Factor runner up Rhydian Roberts has said that Robbie Williams’s duet with Olly Murs on last Saturday’s X Factor show was “like two guys doing drunken karaoke”.
Roberts told iVillage that he was actually backing Olly to win the show, but thinks that his duet with Robbie hurt his chances of taking the title. He said:
“I could see that no-one wanted the title more than he, and no-one tried harder on the Saturday night performances than he did.
“The Robbie duet however, was tragic! This was such a shame for Olly on the biggest night of his life to have to prompt his idol and hope that he remembered the words to his own song ‘Angels’!
“They did get it back but the remainder of the song did look like two guys doing drunken karaoke on a night out.”
He added: “I felt it was...

Rhydian Roberts has said that Robbie Williams's duet with Olly Murs on last Saturday's X Factor final was a "car crash". The pair sung Williams's 1997 hit 'Angels' on the show, but while Murs was voted second ahead of Stacey Solomon, he lost the final vote to eventual winner Joe McElderry. While describing McElderry as a "deserving" and "highly likeable" winner, Roberts told iVillage of Murs: "I could see that no-one wanted the title more than he, and no-one tried harder on the Saturday night performances than he did. X Factor winner Joe McElderry has felt the need to address rumours that he is gay in today’s newspapers.
Joe has confirmed that he has never slept with a woman but added that he is definitely, 100% straight.
The 18 year old told The Sun:
“People say I’m squeaky clean but I don’t see things like that. I’m a normal person living the dream. What you see is what you get.
“I’m straight. I’ve had girlfriends, but I don’t have one right now. I haven’t slept with anyone, but I’m a young lad and I’m concentrating on my music.
“I know I’ll probably get offers but – for me – it’s all about the singing for now.
“Being recognised means you have to be really careful. I say, ‘Enjoy it, but don’t go over the top’. At the minute, the last...

Former X Factor runner up Rhydian Roberts, has admitted that he would like to duet with previous winner of the show, Leona Lewis.
Leona appeared on last night’s X Factor final, singing the Oasis hit ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’. Rhydian has said that he would like them both to record a rendition of the Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush track, ‘Don’t Give Up.’
He told The Daily Star: “I want to do a duet with Leona as she’s phenomenal.
“I’m very fussy when it comes to voices as I get quite technical but she has a superb voice. It would be nice if I could play Peter’s role and she could be Kate on Don’t Give Up.”

Have a look at this clip of Dannii Minogue and Stacey Solomon larking around backstage at The X Factor.
The pair have donned fake moustaches and my first thought was ‘you’d never catch Simon Cowell doing that!’
I wish Dannii Minogue was my gal pal!
