Roku is continuing its lineup of Spanish-language originals with five new series from creators such as Juanpa Zurita and Jaime Camil. But that’s not all. The streaming player-turned-content hub also announced the premiere date for Season 3 of “Un Millón de Gracias” from Jennifer Lopez. Previously titled “Thanks a Million,” this year will mark the series’ first Spanish-language season as a new batch of celebrities give back to the people who have influenced them the most.
Each episode of “Un Millón de Gracias” follows a different celebrity who has been asked to give away $100,000 to someone who has inspired them by being a hero in their community. But once that person has been gifted $100,000, they will have to give away half of it to someone who has inspired them. This season’s celebrities will include Chiquis, Gina Torres, Jaime Camil, Javier “Chicharito” Hernández, Lauren Jauregui, Michael Peña, Michelle Rodriguez, Pau Gasol,...

It's the end of the road for the young men of The Buried Life. MTV has cancelled the show after two seasons on the air, reports EW.
The TV series follows "four regular guys on a mission to complete a list of '100 Things To Do Before You Die' and to help and encourage others to go after their own lists." Episode highlights include the boys making a toast at a wedding, learning to krump, playing basketball with President Obama, tell a joke on late night television, help deliver a baby, and sneak into the Playboy Mansion.
Sources say that the quartet (Jonnie Penn, Duncan Penn, Ben Nemtin, and Dave Lingwood) and MTV may still work together to find a way to keep the show going on the web or on new projects.

The gang behind MTV's "The Buried Life" isn't likely to leave behind a lengthy list of regrets when they kick the bucket, and for the season-two finale, the boys kicked off one of their biggest episodes ever: an hour-long opus packed with gutsy attempts at making a million bucks.
Ben Nemtin, Dave Lingwood and Duncan Penn recently kicked back on the MTV Newsroom couch to chat about the finale and said the inspiration for the episode came from one of the most popular wishes that people across the board want to fulfill: becoming a multimillionaire.

According to robsessedpattinson.com, this is a new pic of Twilight Saga leading man Robert Pattinson on the set of MTV's "Buried Life" TV show. The "Buried Life" show stars Dave Lingwood,Ben Nemtin,Duncan Penn, and Jonnie Penn, and they attempt to go through a bucket list of things they and the viewers would like to accomplish before they die. Of course, last night, was their attempt to steal a lock of Robert Pattinson's hair.

Robert Pattinson makes a reluctant guest appearance on the Oct. 25 episode of MTV's "The Buried Life," in one show's more bizarre challenges yet.
If you're not familiar with the series' premise, creators and stars Dave Lingwood, Ben Nemtin, Duncan Penn and Jonnie Penn attempt to go through their bucket list of things they -- and viewers -- would like to accomplish before they die. Next up? Stealing a lock of Robert Pattinson's hair.
Now, this clip -- of the team stalking Pattinson in a Hollywood club and trailing his car -- doesn't bode very well for their success, but there are a few photos out there of the cast posing with Pattinson, so maybe they're successful after all.
Confession: We've never watched this series before. But the promise of Pattinson, and this admittedly charming cast has us intrigued. What do you think of "The Buried Life?"

Fresh-faced, optimistic, and totally earnest, the four twentysomethings who created and star on MTV's 'The Buried Life' have a lot of things going for them: Hunky, all-American good looks (although they're actually Canadian). More than half a million "friends" on Facebook. And a successful show on MTV which relies entirely on their personalities, on-camera chemistry, and real-deal authenticity.
Now in its second season, the show's premise is deceptively simple: The stars -- Dave Lingwood, Ben Nemtin, Duncan Penn, and his brother, Jonnie Penn -- ask each other (and thus, their viewers) 'what do you want to do before you die'?

MTV certainly "digs" The Buried Life. The four stars of the reality series announced on The Oprah Winfrey Show that MTV is renewing the series for a second season that will air later this year.

The Buried Life premiered on the cable channel this past January 18th. It stars four friends -- Ben Nemtin, Dave Lingwood, and brothers Duncan and Jonnie Penn -- as they travel across North America completing their "bucket list," or the 100 things they want to do before they die. The "Glee" kids aren't the only TV stars who have hung out with Oprah Winfrey and President Barack Obama in the last month. Zap2it caught up with the cast of "The Buried Life" at the College TV Awards on April 10 in Hollywood. They were fresh off the plane from Chicago, where they taped "The Oprah Winfrey Show," and still riding the high of playing basketball with Obama.
During Season 1 of their show, Ben Nemtin, Dave Lingwood, Jonnie Penn and Duncan Penn tried and failed to challenge Obama on the basketball court, but a few weeks ago, their luck turned around.

There are not a lot of TV shows about well meaning people who do well intentioned things. I guess the theory is no one would watch them. Even Father Dowling Mysteries needed the mystery angle each week. This idea holds especially true in reality television. For instance, VH1 seems based solely on the theory that people only enjoy watching terrible people who are motivated out of terrible concerns- like a love of money (or Ray-j). That brings us to The Buried Life, a 2006 documentary series originally on the web that got rebooted and made its network debut on MTV on Monday, January 18 at 10Pm Et. The Buried Life challenges completely the nihilism promoted in VH1 styled reality. The concept is one part bucket list and the other My Name Is Earl. Four young men travel the country in a bus with a list of “100 things to do before they die.
