Cystic fibrosis activist Claire Wineland, the founder of non-profit organization “Claire’s Place Foundation,” died Sunday as a result of a stroke she suffered just over a week ago after a double lung transplant. She was 21.
The foundation’s chairman of the board Laura McHolm announced the news on Facebook on Monday, writing, “She was one red hot spark of inspiration and joy, wasn’t she? Jackson Odell, the 20-year-old actor and musician who was found unresponsive in the San Fernando Valley in June, died of accidental overdose, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office said Monday.
Odell, whose credits include “The Goldbergs,” “Modern Family” and “Private Practice,” died of “acute heroin and cocaine toxicity” on June 8, according to the coroner’s report. He was found in a sober living facility.

Rising Australian comedian Eurydice Dixon was raped and murdered on Tuesday night in Melbourne, according to CNN.
The 22-year-old was walking home from a performance that night through a popular park but never made it home, according to multiple reports. The BBC reported that 19-year-old Jaymes Todd was charged with her rape and murder after handing himself over to police. According to law enforcement, the two did not know each other.
The Age newspaper reported that she sent a Facebook message to a friend just a few meters from her home, writing, “I’m almost home safe, Hbu [how about you].”
