Francesca de Sola is a Salvadorian filmmaker. She had a
passion for the arts from a young age. At age 5 she was among a handful
of gifted child artists chosen to participate in a collaboration with
David Hockney. She was encouraged throughout her childhood to pursue a
career as an artist.
Growing up in Los Angeles Francesca attended Crossroads School in Santa
Monica, and went on to graduate from Phillips Exeter Academy in New
Hampshire.
Following high school, Francesca attended USC were she was a double
major earning a BFA in Cinema and a BA in Visual Anthropology. While
attending USC there she was awarded several prestigious grants to fund
her documentary film work.
Francesca is currently enrolled and making films at NYU Tisch Graduate
Film Program, MFA candidate (2014) with a concentration in Directing.
She is living and working in New York City and Los Angeles as a
writer/director/producer.
Presently she is preparing her first feature based on the characters
and situations from her most recent short films 1%ERS and SECOND ACT.
