A post shared by Alex Rodriguez (@arod) on Nov 23, 2017 at 7:43pm Pst Thanksgiving was a blended family affair for Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez this year. Here’s an episode-by-episode breakdown of all the references and homages in the second season (sans music, which will be included in another post).

For several years now, two of the most financially successful film franchises have been the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Michael Bay’s Transformers series. Those films have cumulatively earned $10.2 billion and $3.8 billion, respectively. So one can’t really blame the folks over at Mattel and Dolphin Entertainment for hoping to combine the superhero storytelling of the former with the built-in appeal of a long-running toy line. Unfortunately, Max Steel reveals just how ill-conceived this approach is in telling an effective story.
Based on the Mattel toys (as well as the 2000 and 2013 animated series they inspired), the film stars Ben Winchell as Max McGrath, a teenage boy who soon begins experiencing dangerous energy bursts when he and his mother (Maria Bello) move back to his hometown, where tragedy occurred years earlier. Before long, the truth begins to unravel, and Max encounters a bizarre creature named Steel (voiced by Silicon Valley‘s...

Writer and academic W.G. Sebald once said: “Men and animals regard each other across a gulf of mutual incomprehension.” In truth, an animal understands nothing of its place in the world, their mind focused merely on food and the prospect of comfort, if available. In cinema, there is an old actor’s adage that states: “Never work with children or animals. They will always upstage you.” When an animal performs successfully in a film, it’s undeniably captivating because we know that animal is unaware of its role in the overall story. The camera has recorded some beautiful cosmic miracle, appearing from the outside to somehow defy Sebald’s words.
Whether fictional friend or foe, the relationship between humans and animals in cinema has always captured our imaginations. These sometimes expand beyond the borders of the normal, and, beyond the Bourgeoisie pooper-scoopers and barked-out cry conveying that some hapless child has fallen down a well,...

Twelve years later, Trista and Ryan Sutter are still going strong. The original Bachelorette, Trista Sutter, was spotted vacationing in Mexico with her husband (aka the last man standing) Ryan and their two children over the holiday weekend. After all these years (and so many failed Bachelor/Bachelorette couplings), it's heartwarming to see that love is still in the air for these two as they were seen cuddling and kissing all weekend long. The couple, who tied the knot Dec. 6, 2003, in front of ABC cameras after the successful inaugural season of The Bachelorette aired earlier that year, enjoyed their stay at the Generations Riviera Maya by Karisma resort with their children Max, 8, and Blakesley, 6. "The Warrior Of The Wasteland! The Ayatollah of rock and rollah!" When I heard myself bellow both of those phrases into a mic on the stage of the Paramount theater in Austin, I got this weird out-of-body feeling that sometimes happens when I'm doing something that younger film nerd me would have freaked out about completely. In this particular case, I was bringing George Miller to the stage to discuss his classic 1982 film, "The Road Warrior," known around the world by its more-accurate-but-less-poetic title, "Mad Max 2." It is safe to say that I adore George Miller. I think he's one of the most remarkable filmmakers to emerge in the '80s, and one of the things that I find most amazing about the "Fury Road" footage we've seen so far is that it feels like he hasn't lost a step. If anything, he's taking all of his experience and then...

How Cell Phones Would Have Ruined Most Of Our Favorite Movies
By
Alex Simon
If you’re a pop culture maven, most likely it can be agreed that the modern cell phone can be traced back to two classic TV series of the 1960s: Star Trek and Get Smart. Captain James Tiberius Kirk and his USS Enterprise crew were always armed with their “communicators” when traveling abroad on a distant planet. They were palm-sized devices with covers the flipped open, providing instant connection with the orbiting space ship. This design was aped, no doubt, by former Trekkies for the classic “flip phone” design that ruled the high-tech roost in the late 90s and early millennium.
Secret Agent 86 Maxwell Smart had his shoe phone, surely the most creative (and ridiculous) example of technology ever invented by someone who was most likely thought to be a creative and scientific genius. However, it...

Bachelorette Andi Dorfman may have just split with fiancé Josh Murray, but after 12 years and 33 seasons of The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and its spin-offs (Bachelor Pad and Bachelor in Paradise), somewhere between all the group dates, hometown visits and rose ceremonies, some true love connections have formed. After 26 seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, most couples have fizzled relatively quickly. But for Trista and Ryan Sutter, and four other couples from the reality dating franchise, love has been everlasting.
"The way we got together is so not normal," Trista, 41, tells People exclusively. "But we do live a normal life. Yes, we met in a fantastical way, but it's really what we did after the show that mattered."
And having made it to their 10th wedding anniversary in December, the pair celebrated with an intimate vow renewal ceremony, which will air Jan. 19 on ABC.
So what's their secret?...

On the first season of ABC's "The Bachelorette," single physical therapist Trista Rehn found love with Ryan Sutter, a handsome firefighter whose penchant for writing poetry won her over in the very first episode. But would their reality-tv love last?
Fast-forward 10 years. Trista and Ryan have been married since 2003 and have two children, 5-year-old Max and 3-year-old Blakesley. The Sutter family now lives quietly in Colorado and focuses much of their time and attention on the children. "Life in the Sutter home is all about our kids," Trista says. "For so long in my life, I wanted to be a career woman. Once we had our kids, it was over."
Having children has given Trista a whole new perspective. "They are our world," Trista says about Max and Blakesley. "They really have shown us… to appreciate the little things in life."
Ryan says that having kids has changed him as well.

Daniel Craig shares an erotically charged scene with Javier Bardem's villain in Skyfall, with Bardem stroking Bond's chest. Asked if he felt it had to do with the villain's sexuality, Craig said "What are you going to do? I don't see the world in sexual divisions. Someone suggested that Silva may be gay. And I'm like, I think he'll f**k anything."
When Rep. Paul Ryan stopped by a soup kitchen in Ohio, it was an unplanned stop, and the head of the charity isn't happy about it. The kitchen is funded by private donations, and is apolitical to keep the money flowing. “Had they asked for permission, it wouldn’t have been granted. … But I certainly wouldn’t have let him wash clean pans, and then take a picture."

The Olympics may be over, but we’re holding on to memories of cheering on our favorite athletes for dear life. There’s something truly beautiful about the Olympic Games and how it unites a country (and gives us something to talk about in an awkward elevator encounter). We do not want to say goodbye! That’s why we spent today looking for ways to indulge in the games for just a little while longer. Something tells us some of the Games’ breakout stars will never be too far from our radar! For now, here are 10 of our favorite ways to not let go of the 2012 Summer Olympics:
1. Ryan Lochte will be appearing on an upcoming episode of the CW’s 90210. He will cross paths with recently reunited couple Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) and Max (Josh Zuckerman) at a resort, where they are attempting to strengthen their relationship. For his sake,...

Los Angeles, California (X17online) - Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte is scheduled to make his first television series appearance on the CW hit drama 90210 in October, as announced by the network on Tuesday. Lochte, who just won five medals in London, will make a cameo appearance as himself in the October 29th episode when he is at the same resort as Naomi and Max. "When we found out Ryan Lochte was going to be in town and might appear on 90210, we felt like we'd won a gold medal! Team USA are all-stars in our book, and we're so excited he's making an appearance on the show. We only wish the episode was a surf event so we could have gotten him in the water, but he deserves a little rest on dry land," executive producers Patti Carr and Lara Olsen said in a joint statement announcing the news. Reality series...

Tommy Dewey (Roommates) has landed a recurring role on the new Fox comedy The Mindy Project, starring Mindy Kaling as a young Ob/Gyn. Dewey, repped by the Kohner Agency and New Wave Entertainment, will play Josh Daniels, a successful lawyer who isn’t afraid to go after things he likes when he sees them — in this case, Mindy. Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte will make his TV series debut with a cameo in an upcoming episode of the CW’s 90210 set to air Oct. 29. He will play a guest at a resort where Naomi and Max are staying to strengthen their relationship. The swimming champion said last week that he was moving to Los Angeles and eying ABC reality series Dancing With The Stars and The Bachelor.

Ryan Lochte has booked his first TV acting gig, a role he's very suited for on "90210." According to TVLine, the Olympic swimmer will play himself in an upcoming episode.
Look for Lochte to pop up at a resort where Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) and Max (Josh Zuckerman) are staying.
Since the 2012 Olympic Games, Lochte hasn't been shy about his TV ambitions, but most of them have been reality related. "Since I'm so used to competing against Michael Phelps, I'd have him on the [Dancing with the Stars]," Lochte told Us Weekly. "I could do 'Dancing with the Stars'! Yeah, I think so."
Lochte has also hinted at appearing on another ABC reality series: "The Bachelor." According to Lochte's agent, he has multiple offers, and he told "Today" "Bachelor" is definitely on his radar. "I'm definitely looking toward 'Dancing With the Stars' and 'The Bachelor,' so we'll see what happens,...

The winter TV drought is over! A whole crop of new shows are premiering this week and many more new and old favorites are back from hiatus. Whatever you choose to watch this week, just don't let it be "Work It" on Tuesday ... otherwise ABC might be tempted to make more.

"The Bachelor" (8 p.m. Est, ABC) season premiere
Winemaker Ben Flajnik is the lucky (if dull) bachelor seeking a second chance at love after falling short of winning Ashley Herbert's heart during last season's "The Bachelorette." Twenty-five women will enter the mansion, including one enthusiastic senior citizen named Sheryl, a sexy equestrian who arrives on horseback, and an athletic soccer player. But which 18 will make it through to next week?
"Hoarders" (9 p.m. Est, A&E) season premiere

Good morning!
With all of the talk about The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, not too much has been said about Lisbeth's bisexuality. Director David Fincher discussed it with CinemaBlend:
We start with the source material. We start with the book and [Lisbeth's bisexuality] is what the book described. I didn’t feel there was any need to put a frame around it. One of the things we were very particular about was when she meets Miriam Wu in the bar. We wanted that to be a moment of happiness. There are two times that you see her smile in the entire movie and one of them is when is she gets the attention of Elodie [Yung] and Elodie comes over to kind of say, “Why are you here alone?” I thought that was important. I also think that Salander’s sexuality is less of a ambidextrous thing than it is something that she has to act on.
