Exclusive: Less than a year after putting up his own shingle, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has picked up another novel for adaptation.
The Game of Thrones star’s Ill Kippers Productions has optioned the just published It Will Be Just Us by Jo Kaplan. The deal was finalized just before Labor Day after negotiations by Coster-Waldau’s Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern attorneys David Weber and Lon Sorensen and Kaplan’s team of John W. Beach and Kevin Cleary at Gravity Squared Entertainment and The Sandra Dijkstra Literary Agency, I’ve learned.
“We were extremely excited when we discovered this book,” said Coster-Waldau to Deadline today of the September 8 released Gothic novel. “It is one of the most original haunted house stories that we’ve read or seen,” the Ill Kippers co-founder added.
“Jo Kaplan’s voice is grounded but compelling, and just down-right scary!’ the WME-repped actor stated. “And the adjacent historically-based...

Kahli Small has exited her post as Evp Production & Development at Graham King's Gk Films, a person familiar with the situation told TheWrap. There have been a number of changes at Gk Films recently, including the departure of Svp Grey Rembert and COO Bahman Naraghi in April. Last year, the company hired Abby Ex, as vice president for production & development, from The Weinstein Company. Ex reported to Small. Gk Films did not immediately return TheWrap's requests for comment. Before joining Focus, Small was head of production at Key Entertainment and an...

Gk Films COO Bahman Naraghi and Svp Grey Rembert have left the company. Naraghi stepped down to pursue producing interests outside of the Graham King-run company while Rembert, whose focus was developing books, was laid off. Development execs Kahli Small and recently hired Abby Ex will continue in their roles. Films going into production in 2012 include the musical Jersey Boys, an untitled Freddie Mercury biopic starring Sacha Baron Cohen and the comedy Little White Corvette, which King will oversee directly. Since the success of the animated Paramount film Rango, released in March 2011, King's company has had three sizable box office disappointments. The

Exclusive… 2Nd Update: I’ve learned more info now… Graham King’s Gk Films is laying off Svp Grey Rembert because “she’s a books person and brought in great books, but having a books person is a luxury for anyone and especially for an indie company”. The company also recently hired Abby Ex as VP Production & Development from The Weinstein Co and she’s seen as Rembert’s replacement. But I’m told Gk Films will be hiring more physical producers shortly. In addition, the company and COO Bahman Naraghi “mutually decided” to part ways, albeit reluctantly and only because I’m told that Naraghi now wants to change careers and become a film producer. The COO will be replaced. Meanwhile, PR’s Mic Kramer just snagged a new job at Paramount so that’s why he’s leaving. Rembert had been with Graham a long time: the former...
