Tomb Raider is now available for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. In a new video, some of the staff at Crystal Dynamic, take the time to call out some of their favorite moments from the game. These moments include their favorite tomb, traversal sequence, and combat scenario with narration by Game Director Daniel Bisson.
Written by Rhianna Pratchett and John Stafford, with music composed by Jason Graves, Tomb Raider explores the intense origin story of Lara Croft and her ascent from an untried and untested young woman to a hardened survivor. Armed only with raw instincts and the ability to push beyond the limits of human endurance, Lara must fight to unravel the dark history of a forgotten island to escape its relentless hold. Featuring for the first time a bespoke multiplayer campaign developed by Eidos Montréal.
In addition, the game has been accompanied by a wealth of companion items and interactive media,...

One of the releases looming large over 2013 is the Tomb Raider reboot. So during this Sdcc panel, what did the team behind the game have to say about it? Narrative designer John Stafford was joined by the game's writer, Rhianna Pratchett, creative director Noah Hughes, global brand manager Karl Stewart, and the new Lara Croft herself, Camilla Luddington to discuss what went into rebooting the iconic character.
If you were paying attention to the PR disaster from a few weeks back that caught Tomb Raider in its jaws, it's hard not to see the Square Enix/Eidos panel focused on the game as an attempt to walk back the (let's say "unfortunate") language that's defined Lara Croft in the last few days. Between writer Rhihanna Pratchett and actress Camilla Luddington, there was a concentrated attempt to define the trajectory of the character as one where Lara Croft finds herself and finds her strength.

Square Enix is coming prepared this year: five playable games, including Tomb Raider, a special panel hosted by Zachary Levi in conjunction with the Nerd Machine, contests, cosplay events, and toys. The only hitch, you may have to do a little extra walking in and around the San Diego Convention Center to check it all out.
First off, it should be said that Square Enix is bringing a nicely diverse lineup of titles to the con: besides Tomb Raider (which is getting featured treatment across multiple events and panels), you can get your hands on Hitman: Absolution, the 3Ds RPG Heroes of Ruin, Sleeping Dogs, and of course Kingdom Hearts 3D. You'll be able to find most of these titles on the show floor at the Square Enix booth, #3829, but if you want to check out Heroes of Ruin, you'll have to head over to the Nintendo Lounge (Mariott Marquis & Marina – San Diego Ballroom,...

Another day, another schedule for the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con. Next up is Day 3 - Saturday, July 14th - which is just about as chock-full of events for the horror crowd as Friday the 13th!
As always, our focus is the horror panels, but included are a few others that we think will be of interest as well. Remember that times and participants are subject to change so keep your eyes on the official Sdcc site for updates. And hopefully they'll provide a fix soon for the Sdcc smartphone app - in years past it's been extremely helpful.
10:00-11:00 Comic-Con How-To: Anatomy of a Fight Scene, Part One— Stories are about conflict, and there is no purer form of conflict than a good ol' fisticuffs-style brawl-or sword fight, laser battle, western shootout, or even two chicks pulling each other's hair. How do you put that much action down on...

You don't have to be familiar with the first two series of this early-90s police drama to enjoy the many charms of this, the third. The Chief would subsequently survive a further two seasons and, while five years on ITV is no guarantee of quality, this was warranted if the quality of this instalment is anything to go by.
Anchored by a steely yet likable lead performance from Martin Shaw as Chief Constable of Eastlands police Alan Cade, the show's combustible mix of personal, political, and policing issues -- together with some disarmingly topical themes -- add up to an engrossing six-parter.
The opening two episodes dramatise the changeover from The Chief of the first two series --John Stafford (Tim Piggot-Smith), leaving to investigate shady shenanigans by fellow policemen in London -- to the newly appointed Cade. This gives the uninitiated a welcome crash-course in the programme's set-up and character relationships.

As soon as we thought we could predict the outcome of the Oscars, here comes another surprise! This one's brought to you by the Writers Guild of America. Picked for Best Original Screenplay was Christopher Nolan's "Inception." The director, famously dissed for not getting a Best Director Oscar nomination, may just win the Best Original Screenplay come Oscar night. Oscar front-runner, "The King's Speech" was not nominated because it didn't quality under union rules which prompted Nolan to say during his WGA acceptance award that he looked forward to a time when he could accept the award "without qualification."
That could be the beginning of a great script Mr. Nolan, go write it :happy
For adapted screenplay, I'm happy to report that Aaron Sorkin's fantastic script won! Based on "The Accidental Billionaires" by Ben Mezrich, "The Social Network" was the only film last year that I predicted to win this very category.

If you’re a self-help evangelist with a lot of skeletons in your close, it may not be a good idea to provoke the sleeping bear inside Cal Lightman. However, if you do, it can have some dramatic and humorous results, as evidenced by "Beyond Belief."
We all know that Lightman has a soft spot for those who attempt suicide and that showed through loud and clear this week, as he was like a shark chasing the scent of blood in the water while going after John Stafford.
Then again, Stafford effectively chummed the water when he had his goons leave a pamphlet at Lightman’s house as a warning that he knew where he lived. There were at least two points after when Lightman got into Stafford’s face that actually made me flinch.
Is anyone else picking up on the subtle tug-of-war between Gillian and Lightman at the office?...
