In 2017, ahead of a star-making appearance on Season Nine of RuPaul’s Drag Race, the Chicago artist Shea Couleé wrote, directed, and starred in a lushly shot, intensely fashionable 10-minute short film called Lipstick City. Couleé takes on two roles: Mrs. Couleé and Shea, unlikely allies who journey through a surreal, hedonistic club underworld in order to get Kill Bill-style revenge on a cheating husband.
Lipstick City established Couleé as a creative force and magnetic onscreen presence — talents that became legendary as she ascended to the top four of her first season of Drag Race,...

Switch-Up Week has never been easy on Dancing with the Stars, and that appears to still be true for season 22. "It's kind of like starting at week 1 again," pro dancer Mark Ballas told People on Monday of having to switch partners for the upcoming week of competition. "But that's the nature of the show. there is nothing we can do about it, so there is no use in complaining. We just all get to work!" Instead of being partnered with Ufc fighter Paige VanZant, Ballas will be dancing a Salsa to Eddie Palmieri's "La Malanga" with Good Morning America's Ginger Zee.

One of the great mysteries of American Idol‘s farewell season is its failure to snag Red Bull as a sponsor for its semifinal rounds.
There’s been a “blinked? you missed it!” Usain Bolt-ish pacing to these telecasts, in which a dozen performances and 36 individual critiques — plus some pithy “meet the contestants!” packages — get crammed into approximately 42 minutes of airtime.

For the pop music superstars and global philanthropists in attendance, 2012's We Are Family Foundation Gala might be best remembered as the annual event that almost wasn't.
The gala, held at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom, had to be pushed back to Jan. 31 from its original October date due to Hurricane Sandy. But while the megastorm's devastation was the topic of much conversation at the party, it certainly didn't dampen most of the attendees' spirits -- least of all Adam Lambert, who was honored with the We Are Family Unity Award in recognition of his collaborations with The Trevor Project, Equality California and the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) among other organizations.
After accepting his award, the 31-year-old "American Idol" alum -- who became the first openly gay man to top the Billboard charts in 2012 -- hit the stage alongside fellow dance-pop artist Sam Sparro and legendary record producer...

Hey I just wrote it and this is crazy, but here’s the Chart News, so read it maybe.
Quick Overview – If you’re unfamiliar with the Billboard chart over in the USA, you’ll soon realise that there’s very little movement and even less changes at the top. Therefore it’s no surprise that Carly Rae Jepsen is still giving strangers her number for the 3rd week running. On the completely opposite end of the chart spectrum (and the opposite side of the world), the Australian Aria charts are All movement this wekk. Out goes The Voice entries (except Karise Eden’s winner’s single at #5) and up up up goes everything else with a top 10 consisting of 9 climbers and 1 non-mover. The victor in all this? Flo Rida and his Whistle blowing instruction manual – go figure… For the UK charts, it’s a mixed bag. New entries at #1 and #3 for Will.

Unlike England when taking penalties, you can always rely on the top 40 charts.
Quick Overview – So last week I mentioned that the Americans were a bit late on the Rae Jepsen bandwagon but I guess I was wrong; as well as holding the top spot there for a 2nd week, Carly ‘Call Her Maybe’ Rae Jepz has also hit number one in France and Hungary this week plus moving back up the top 10 in the UK. Talking of the UK, Precision Tunes cashing in on Payphone the week prior hasn’t dampened Maroon 5′s actual chart entry as it’s gone in straight at number one with Cheryl at #2, Flo & his world-conquering Whistle down to #3 and Stooshe being decidedly demure with Black Heart at #4. Whereas The Voice UK Contestants struggled to even get top 40, the Australian charts is overrun with Voice talent. Winner Karise Eden has 4 entries in the...

The charts. 95% of artists would like to be on them, the other 5% say they don’t but secretly yearn for a shot at the bigtime. The charts represent what the public are buying right now and what their tastes are at the moment (or at least what’s had the most hype/promotion/radio play). Here (and hopefully for every week from now on) are the top 10 singles’s of the 3 major English-speaking chart markets – the USA, UK and Australia. Plus, as an added bonus, I’ll be giving you a run-down of all the number ones everywhere else plus a music video of one of the ones you’ve probably never heard of on that list. Bonus. So have a gander at what the world thinks is prime musical pie…

Adam Lambert and his fans now have something to celebrate other than the recent release of his new album "Trespassing" - the record just debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top 200 chart. Trespassing, which is also #1 on the Billboard Digital Album's chart, is Lambert's sophomore release which dropped on May 15th. It's the follow up to his hugely successful debut album "For Your Entertainment," which debuted at #3 on Billboard's Top 200. Lambert's fans, collaborators, and fellow artists, more commonly referred to as his Glamily, are buzzing over the news of his first #1 debut on Billboard, and Twitter has been cuckoo with comments to, for, and about Adam since the news broke. The singer himself has even tweeted about it- "Wow. Trespassing made it's debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 this week. Thank you to the Glamily for helping me make History." By history, Adam is referring to the fact that he is the first...

Adam Lambert is making history this week by reportedly becoming the first openly gay male artist to top the Billboard album charts.
As Billboard's Keith Caulfield is reporting, Lambert snagged the No. 1 spot with his sophomore effort, "Trespassing," which sold 77,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Interestingly, it's a case of one "American Idol" alum replacing another, as Lambert's chart debut toppled Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away," which drops to No. 3.
Including Underwood, Lambert is the seventh "American Idol" finalist to reach No. 1, following Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Clay Aiken, Chris Daughtry (of Daughtry) and Scotty McCreery, according to Billboard.
But Lambert's chart triumph is also historic, as it marks the first time an openly gay male performer accomplishes that feat. As AfterElton notes, "Other gay performers such as Elton John and George Michael have hit No. 1, but only before they came out, and they haven't managed that honor since."

Danny DeVito and Patricia Heaton were among the Hollywood stars rocked when an earthquake hit Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon.
A 4.2-magnitude quake, centred 24 miles (38.6 kilometres) northwest of downtown L.A., shook the city and several aftershocks followed.
The former Everybody Loves Raymond star Heaton quickly took to her Twitter.com page, asking fans, "Was there an earthquake in La? My desk just shook like crazy", before adding: "Whoohoo! Earthquake La! Life is precarious, people - carpe diem!"
Pauley Perrette was on the set of her hit series NCIS at the time of the tremors, and she updated her followers on the situation at the TV studios.
In a series of posts, she writes, "4.2 magnitude centered right here by the #NCIS stage. All is well, lots of equipment shook. Another after shock. Keeps going. It's right underneath us at #NCIS but all's well."
DeVito took the opportunity to joke, "Earthquake? Or a small dog fart? 4.2 nice adjustment", while singer Sam Sparro also felt the quake: "That was an earthquake? I thought people were doing it upstairs."...

"DJ Hero 2" has entered the last leg of its path toward an October 19 release date, and though they've revealed 105 tracks that will appear featuring talent like DJ Qbert and DJ Shadow, FreeStyleGames had not yet named what the sequel's mix list would include. That's all changed now, however, and they've even grouped the combos and re-styled singles by producer.
"Whether it's Pussycat Dolls Mixed With Pitbull, 2Pac Mixed With B.o.B., or a all-new remix of a Daft Punk anthem, in 'DJ Hero 2' we have created 83 mixes that are not only incredibly fun to play, but will allow everyone to experience the music they know and love in an all-new way," FreeStyleGames music director Dan Neil said in a press release. "The amazing soundtrack, coupled with the new social gameplay modes and all-new levels of creative freedom, make 'DJ Hero 2' the ultimate interactive music experience."

HollywoodNews.com: Lady Gaga already has some of the biggest hits of the past year and so it would only make sense for three of them to be included in the new DJ Hero 2 video game that is slated to hit stores on October 19.
A follow up to DJ Hero, the new game will feature over 100 of the biggest tracks from the hottest artists, remixed exclusively for the game. From Eminem’s “Not Afraid,” Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance,” David Guetta’s “Memories” feat. Kid Cudi, and Lil’ Wayne’s “Lollipop” feat. Static Major music fans will find more than a handful of songs to entertain themselves.

HollywoodNews.com: Adam Lambert may be gay, but you have to admit, he’s not hard on the eyes. While the singer is gearing up for his headlining tour this summer, he’s taken some time to answer a few questions from Frontiersweb.
In terms of his upcoming tour he shares, ” I wrote a song with Sam Sparro for my album, and the song is called “Voodoo.” It wasn’t on the standard release—it was a bonus track—but I released it with my remixes that came out a couple months ago, and I got such a great response. I fell in love with the song again.
Thematically, it’s about putting a love spell on someone. It’s very kitschy and has a lot of imagery that has to do with New Orleans and voodoo and the swamp and it’s kinda fun. And so I decided that...
