Besides the major clash of Salman Khan's Sultan Vs Shah Rukh Khan's Raees (in Eid) that has been hitting the headlines, 2016 will witness yet another box-office war as two of the much-touted projects are set to release on the same day.
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Mirzya will clash with Anthony D'souza's Azhar, a biopic on former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin. Both the films have been blocked for May 13, 2016.
Both the projects are significant and look promising. Film: "Boss"; Cast: Akshay Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Ronit Roy,Shiv Pandit, Aditi Rao Hydari, Danny Denzongpa; Directed by Anthony d'Souza; Rating: ****
The second-half of this breakneck-speed, blues-chaser of a movie opens with a long chase sequence through the narrow gallis of a dusty small-town in North India where we last saw Akshay Kumar having a ball in "Rowdy Rathod" and "Khiladi 786".
Somehow in those films, Akshay ended up having more fun that we did. This time, our enjoyment-quotient matches Akshay's step-by-step, scene-by-scene, frame-by-frame chuckle for chuckle.
"Boss" is as much fun to watch as it must have been to shoot. Almost every sequence is an 'item'. And for once the word 'item' is not a gaali..

A new track has been recorded for Akshay Kumar's upcoming action drama Boss on the request of the makers. The fresh track is supposed to be an ode to Lord Ganesh. However, this track is not included as a part of the film. Director Anthony D'Souza revealed that the special track was included because they consider Ganesha to be the Boss of all Gods. Composed by Meet Bros Anjjan, the song has been kept traditional with the use of dhols and the popular lejhim. It is going to a fortnight long build up ahead for Boss. As Akshay Kumar brings his Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbaai Dobaara on Independence Day, he has a double whammy reserved for his fans. On this day he has decided to release the teaser of Boss. What makes it all the more special is the fact that unlike a regular teaser where the job is to, well, tease, this one has another job in hand. In what has been designed as an innovative promotional strategy, the teaser will act as a vehicle for 'announcing' the theatrical promo. While one still waits to see how exactly is that message conveyed, the fact remains that the journey from August 15 to August 27 (when the theatrical promo is finally unveiled) would be filled with surprise for the audience and (well placed) anxiety for its makers. Confirms Anthony D'Souza, the film's director, "We...

Who let the cat out of the bag? Or rather, the song out of the private domain? The secretly-shot visual of the song that Prabhu Dheva choreographed for Akshay Kumar in Anthony D'Souza's Boss was apparently leaked out by someone on location who took unauthorized pictures, thereby upsetting the film's leading man and the team. Says Prabhu Dheva, "I don't know how it got out. The song that I shot with Akshay was not meant to be made public. Someone took a picture, we don't know who it is, and put it up." The premature announcement of what was meant to be a secretly shot song has greatly upset the choreographer and the entire team of the film. "Anyone would be upset, no?" reasons Prabhu Dheva. "So much care is taken over the marketing of a product these days. To have such a big song being leaked out so randomly is very upsetting.
