Anchor Vinita Nair announced Thursday (Feb. 17) that she would be leaving ABC's overnight news program "World News Now" on Friday, Feb. 18. Nair had been at "World News Now" for just over three years, as she joined in December 2007. Vinita will be leaving ABC's morning program "America This Morning" as well.
For her send off, the show put together some of their favorite video clips of Vinita, including quotes of her saying, "If you told me I could do this show in a wife-beater, I would" and "I have like four episodes of 'Housewives of Atlanta,' I'm so excited to go home," plus a clip of her dressing up like a Facebook profile for Halloween.
Her co-anchor since July Rob Nelson gave her bananas (her favorite fruit), eggs, flowers and vintage champagne as her going away basket, which she said was "so much swag."...
