Auckland, Sep 2 (Ians) Fast bowler Lockie Ferguson is set to captain New Zealand for the first time in international cricket during the upcoming three-match Odi Series against Bangladesh in Dhaka, said New Zealand Cricket (Nzc) on Saturday.
Ferguson, who recently led the team in tour matches in England, will captain the side in the absence of regular Odi captain Kane Williamson as he continues to recover from a right knee injury, and his deputy Tom Latham, who will miss the series to have time at home before the Icc Cricket World Cup and Test tour to Bangladesh.
“Lockie is an experienced bowler at the international level, and this is an opportunity for him to really lead from the front with not just the bowling group but the team as a whole. He stepped into the role for the warm-up matches in England and led a group, with a lot of moving parts,...

London, June 22 (Ians) Former England batter Ian Bell feels Australia looked scared in the first two days of the first Ashes Test at Edgbaston and added that the Pat Cummins-led side still has a lot of work to do despite winning the match by two wickets.
Captain Cummins led Australia to a thrilling victory in the first Ashes Test at Edgbaston through an unbeaten 44 and a match-winning ninth-wicket stand of 55 with Nathan Lyon (16 not out) to chase down 281 on the last day. Australia’s win came following Ben Stokes’ daring first-innings declaration on 393/8 on day one’s play.
“I’d go as far to say that Australia have more to work on. After the first two days at Edgbaston, I was amazed at how passive Australia were. It was like England used to play the Ashes series in the really bad old days. Australia looked scared. I saw that in two examples.

Dehradun, Sep 22 (Ians) In match number 14 of the Road Safety World Series 2022, India Legends will take on England Legends here at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on September 22.
It will be the first match for Sachin Tendulkar-led side in Uttarakhand’s capital Dehradun. The first match of the Dehradun leg between New Zealand Legends and West Indies Legends was called-off without a ball being bowled due to rain on September 21.
India Legends’ previous match in the league stage against New Zealand was abandoned in Indore due to a wet outfield on September 19. Only 5.5 overs of the first innings in that game at Holkar Stadium were possible before the skies opened up, making the outfield damp and unfit for play.
Sachin Tendulkar-led side, which landed in Dehradun on September 20, will be eager to get on the pitch and play a complete game as two of their first three games have become a victim of rain.

The Edge, directed by Barney Douglas, follows the England Cricket team between the infamous years of success from 2009 to 2013. Beginning in late 2008 with England on a destructive path of self-annihilation during their world tour, following the teams slow rebuild with refreshed ideas resulting in a newfound success on a world stage, touching on the inevitable downfall and mental fatigue that comes with the global unification of serial winning.
First and foremost, The Edge is not merely a simplistic film about the sport of cricket. It is not a one-note love letter of which its main focus is to preach to the already convinced choir of fans. It is far from it. It is a film that works wonderfully on two levels.
