The drug business behind bars is back in full swing on Paramount+’s Mayor of Kingstown season two episode seven. Drones drop packages of drugs into the yard that are then taken by the Aryan Brotherhood to the kitchen to be broken down for individual sales – all with the guards’ tacit approval.
Bunny (Tobi Bamtefa) meets with Mike (Jeremy Renner) in the prison’s kennels and points out the Aryan Brotherhood’s back in business with the help of technology. Bunny also confirms that he moved the hit off Mike and onto the District Attorney. People are tired of broken promises and now that the way’s clear, Bunny orders Mike to get the paperwork signed and get him out.
The drones are flying overhead, making deliveries every few minutes.

Season two episode three of Paramount+’s Mayor of Kingstown is shorter than usual and seems like a filler episode. Bunny’s still in jail, Mike still hasn’t located Iris, and Kyle’s still in need of a good therapist by the time episode three wraps up.
“Five at Five” opens with Iris (Emma Laird) explaining she thought Milo (Aidan Gillen) died in the riot and didn’t know where to go. He demands to know if she slept with Mike, and Iris says she didn’t.
Elsewhere, Robert and his Swat guys do a quick search of an apartment, making sure there aren’t any concealed weapons or drugs, and clearing the way for Ian (Hugh Dillon) to have a chat with the older woman who rents the place.

The war inside the prison continues on Paramount+’s Mayor of Kingstown season two episode two, with one inmate beaten to death in the opening scene. That means chaos will continue to reign outside as gangs fight over territory without any leadership.
A voiceover by Mike (Jeremy Renner) points out that there aren’t any innocent victims inside the walls. However, “Outside, innocent victims is how you fight the war.” That point’s punctuated by the murder of an innocent woman who just happens to be in a house that comes under attack.
Ian (Hugh Dillon) calls Mike to come to the shooting, but first Mike has to drop Iris (Emma Laird) someplace safe. In this particular instance, that safe place in the middle...

Review: With all the acclaim bestowed upon Taylor Sheridan’s growing catalog of original series airing on Paramount networks, it is easy to forget that not every one of the shows he has created ends up a masterpiece. Mayor of Kingstown was the first series from Sheridan to debut after the original Yellowstone and amassed the biggest ratings debut for Paramount Network at the time. With Jeremy Renner in the lead, the Michigan-set series was as far from the natural majesty of Montana as possible but still echoed some of the dramatic and pulpy plots that made the Kevin Costner-led series so popular.
