Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia ended on a hell of a note. Here’s what the ending could mean for the show’s future.
“You can almost imagine the pitch meeting for Ginny & Georgia: ‘What if we do Gilmore Girls, only with more sex and Lorelai’s a criminal mastermind?’ By the end of the 10-episode first season of the new Netflix series, that’s basically exactly what the drama has provided.”

Kelly Clarkson's new song called "Let Me Down" has just made its way out in its full length for fans' listening pleasure. Coming out hot on the heels of her new album preparation, the song which has potential to be a hit with its radio-friendly sound is speculated to be one of the new materials she recorded for the album.
A pop/rock song with some rousing drum-smacking sound, "Let Me Down" revolves around a doomed relationship. Although some critics think the beat is a bit Pink-ish, Kelly manages to make the song into her own emotionally-charged rock track with with her signature killer voice.
"You're only gonna let me down/ When it counts, you countdown," Kelly sings it out loud. "You're only gonna turn me out / As I burn, you burn out/ You're only gonna make me feel so crazy/ But when I think we could be...

While fans may have to wait until September to hear Kelly Clarkson's new album, songwriter Claude Kelly is revealing some details about what fans will hear once the album drops. He recently worked on the album with Clarkson, and while he's not completely sure which tracks will make the final cut, he said that Clarkson will be back bigger and better than ever.
"I'm not surprised 'cause the music industry is full of unexpected things," he said of the delay. "I will say that I'd be willing to bet that the reason it was pushed back was not for anything as horrible or earth-shattering as people think — it's probably [just] a better setup."

Poor Kelly Clarkson. "American Idol's" first winner always seems to be in the throes of battle with the people around her who essentially make or break her career.
Currently, she's disappointed by her label's decision to push her album release to September despite the record being ready to go.
"I recently found out that my album won't be coming out until September," Clarkson wrote on her official Facebook. "The album has been recorded but I can't release it until then. I realize that is a long time but that's the best time to release it apparently so I'm sorry for the wait but I promise you it sounds great!"

Although recording session for her new studio album has been done, Kelly Clarkson won't release the CD until September this year. She posted on Facebook, "The album has been recorded but I can't release it until then [September]. I realize that is a long time but that's the best time to release it apparently so I'm sorry for the wait but I promise you it sounds great!"
Kelly recorded the last song in the album on February 25. The "American Idol" graduate shared back then, "This album was influenced by Prince, Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow, Radiohead and there's a little bit of a Country vibe/influence on a couple of songs."
One of her favorite songs in the forthcoming CD is titled "Why Don't You Try". It's produced by Steve Jordan and written by Eric Hutchinson. "[It] is highly influenced by Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder," she wrote. "Thank you Eric Hutchinson for letting me sing your song.

The holiday season just isn't officially underway until the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (I don't care how early the stores think it starts), and what better entrance to the Thanksgiving holiday than a couple of Christmas specials? Well, it doesn't all have to make perfect sense.
Tonight, NBC is leading you into the holidays with Merry Madagascar and a Kung Fu Panda Holiday Special, and I have some previews of those for you below. Tomorrow, you obviously don't want to miss the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and though I don't think it needs any hype at this point, I have some cool videos for that as well. Finally, NBC's take on Thanksgiving night festivities is Taylor Swift's special Speak Now.

During the season, James vied to show that his bluesy bar-band style trumped his good looks — a physique which caught the eye of judge Kara DioGuardi (she asked him to take off his shirt at one point during the audition).
MTV’s excellent analysis of the show points out that James’ flame burnt out based on song choice, as he decided to croon the unknown tune “Ok, It’s Alright With Me” by Eric Hutchinson. Singing the judges’ choice, John Mayer’s “Daughters,” didn’t earn him any more traction.

Was it really just two short weeks ago that I predicted Cool, Texas' (c'mon, can that really be a place?) Casey James would absolutely, positively be going home? Back then I said James appeared to be pulling a Castro by trying to get booted off the show after seemingly burning out on the attention and weekly grind.
But he hung in there and made it to the top three, which looks like the end of the line for good ol' boy Cj. Our "Idol" experts thinks so and I have to agree. Conspiracy theories aside, the past few months have felt like a runaway train to Bowersox/DeWyze Junction — with shades of last year’s inevitable Allen/Lambert showdown — and James' lackluster performances on Tuesday (May 18) night appeared to seal his fate.

For his contestants choice on last night’s American Idol, Casey James chose an Eric Hutchinson song Ok, It’s Alright With Me.
It was a laid back little number and I think it played to Casey’s many strengths. He strummed along, but wisely left the electric guitar out of the mix. It isn’t the time to be dazzling the audience with guitar solos, Casey needed to show off his voice and I think he did…..unfortunately the judges didn’t agree.

They've said it before, but this time our "American Idol" experts really mean it: This is the week Casey James is riding off into the sunset, paving the way for the long-expected showdown in next week's "Idol" finale between Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze.
"Simon Cowell and company have been pushing for a Lee/Crystal finale since week one, and it looks as though they'll be getting that come results-show time," MTV News' resident "Idol" expert Jim Cantiello predicted. "Casey did nothing to convince America that he deserved to break up the MamaSox and DeWyze showdown. Rewind to a year ago, where Kris Allen was expected to sing his swan song but instead showed up armed with brilliance."
Cantiello said Casey squandered his chance to gain...

Tuesday (May 18) was "Make Sure Casey Doesn't Have A Chance To Ruin Our Plans For A Lee/Crystal Finale" night on "American Idol." Actually, it was "Judges' Choice/Contestant's Choice," a scary evening when Randy isn't allowed to say, "For me for you for me for you, I wasn't feeling the song choice" since he had a hand in picking it. I hope he's well rested. I wouldn't want him to pop a blood vessel from being forced to come up with an original idea.
With only three contestants remaining, one would hope that they would step up their game and fight for a spot in the finale. One contestant came guns blazing, one contestant needed a song to get warmed up and one contestant mentally folded clothes during his performance. Before I go on a rant about how Crysey-Lee is the least promising Top Three in "Idol" history, and...

DeWyze Guy - Ryan started the night by telling us one of these three would be your next American Idol. Then we got right into the performances. Each of the contestants would be singing a song of their choice and a song chosen for them by the judges.
Here are the performances in order of their appearance.
American Idol: Season 9 Top 3

Casey James .Ok, It.s Alright with Me. by Eric Hutchinson . too light a song, never pick little known songs, could have phoned this one in . Randy said just .ahright. with me, safe, easy . Ellen said needed to bring something bigger . Kara said hard to pick a song nobody knows, didn.t work in your favor . Simon said will leave no lasting effect, dud song choice, but sounded good.

With three competitors left but room for only two of them in next week's finale, something had to give as Lee DeWyze, Crystal Bowersox and Casey James battled it out Tuesday night on "American Idol." For the first round of the evening's competition, the Top Three sang songs of their own choosing. Casey kicked things off by mellowing out on acoustic guitar with Eric Hutchinson's "Ok, It's Alright with Me." Randy Jackson joked, "That song was just kind of alright with me … you can't like do a safe kind of easy song like that right now." Ellen DeGeneres agreed, telling Casey, "I wish you would've brought it." Kara DioGuardi critiqued, "When you pick [a song] that is a first-listen for a lot of people, you can't make it your own." Simon Cowell called the song choice a dud and compared Casey to a waiter busking for a couple dollars, elaborating, "That...

"American Idol" began the Top 3 performance with Casey James. In the first round the contestants are allowed to pick any kind of song that they would like to sing while in the second round, they would do the judges' choice.
Casey kicked it off with "Okay, It's Alright With Me" by Eric Hutchinson. Ellen DeGeneres said, "I wish you would have brought it. It needed to really blow us away." Simon Cowell was none too pleased with the result either, saying "I think that was a dud song choice I'm afraid, but you sounded good" and adding that it was like a salad.
Crystal Bowersox was next, singing "Come to My Window" by Melissa Etheridge. Kara DioGuardi criticized, "I did think you got a little lost in the arrangement." But Simon said, "From the very first day to now in the semi-final, you haven't compromised yourself as an artist. You...

In perhaps the nail-biting-est Top 3 episode in American Idol history…okay, sorry, I was going to try to pull a Simon Cowell-esque bait-and-switch, but I’m just not that good an actor, folks. Not even in print. And so, tomorrow night, we’ll advance to the red ‘X’ in the middle of the forest, the place our collective GPSes have been steering us toward for 41 episodes. [Spoilers ahead, west-coast pals, so quit reading if you haven't watched your Idol yet!]
Indeed, Idoloonies, it appears that — barring any apocalyptic voting wonkiness — we are headed for a Lee DeWyze-Crystal Bowersox finale. The former definitely stole the “Contestant’s Choice” round of the competition...

Tonight's semi-final in American Idol's ninth season saw the remaining three contestants performing two songs - their choice and the judges' choice - in a bid to land a spot in next week's grand finale. Contestants' Choice: Casey James - 'Ok, It's Alright With Me' by Eric Hutchinson Randy: Says that the song was "just alright with me too" and that he wanted to hear something more "unique and interesting" because it's down to the wire. Ellen: Agrees that this is the moment to shine and she wishes he would have "brought something much, much bigger" and had blown them away. Kara: Thinks it is hard to pick a song that not everybody knows particularly on a night like this and the song didn't work in his favor. Simon: Compares the song to a salad at dinner, meaning that there is hopefully something more (more)...

momlogic's Vivian: The final three "American Idol" contestants (Crystal, Casey and Lee) kicked some serious ass last night. But who kicked the hardest? With two amazingly consistent performances, one contestant grabbed the brass ring and just wouldn't let go. Read on to find out who!
To help us discern the two best singers of the final three, each contestant sang two songs -- one chosen by them, and one chosen by the judges.
Casey James kicked off the festivities with an unknown Eric Hutchinson song, "Ok, It's Alright With Me" -- a slighty groovy tune, like one of those peppy nouveau-soul skippy beats someone like Dave Matthews puts out every so often. When asked why he'd chosen it, Casey said that it was a lot like the stuff he writes, so he thought it would be a good representation. And indeed, the guy Finally looked like he was having some fun up on that stage.

It's down to three, and if this season (or any season, frankly) of "American Idol" has taught us anything, it's all about song choice. Left to their own devices, the top three mostly blew it on Tuesday night with their selections, with only Lee DeWyze earning lukewarm praise for his pick, while Crystal Bowersox and Casey James both elicited tepid responses. Things turned around in the second half when all three got thumbs-up from the judges (who also happened to pick the songs), and DeWyze sprinted ahead of the pack with a powerhouse performance of the oft-covered Leonard Cohen soul-stirrer "Hallelujah," which has been the savior of many an "Idol" contestant.
First up, though, was Cool, Texas' James, who chose little-known singer Eric Hutchinson's 2008 song "Ok, It's Alright With Me,...
