For former Top Chef contestant and fan-favorite, Stefan Richter, what you see on TV is what you get in person. He is as passionate, honest and unapologetic as you remember him on the cooking competition show. It was actually quite refreshing. Speaking of refreshing, I recently caught up with the chef at a special preview of his summer 2013 menu for his Santa Monica eatery, Stefan’s La Farm, over a vodka soda (extra lime) and a glass of cab for me. From his Jack in the Box-inspired menu item to fellow Top Chef hook-ups and a desire to be a father, read our full interview with Stefan below to learn more about everybody’s favorite chef.
Et: What’s your favorite item on the new menu?
Stefan: I got a steak for two. We’ve got a steakhouse in Finland so I have a steak for two. It’s really interesting. People are ordering...

With the competition down to Brooke Williamson and Kristen Kish, one thing is clear going in to the finale of "Top Chef: Seattle." Season 10 would produce the second female winner in "Top Chef" history. The first female "Top Chef" was Stephanie Izard in Season 4. "It's about time," Izard tells host Padma Lakshmi, as the competition gets underway.
Brooke, who goes in to the finale with the most challenge wins for Season 10 is Co-Executive Chef and Co-Owner of Hudson House and The Tripel in the Los Angeles area. She faces Kristen, who was eliminated from the competition by way of a shocking turn of events in Episode 11.
But the Chef de Cuisine at Barbara Lynch's Stir in Boston spent weeks fighting her way back in to the competition by winning round after round of "Last Chance Kitchen," the web spin-off series which pits the eliminated chefs against one another.

'Top Chef Seattle' recap: C.J. Jacobson packs his knives again with Tyler Wiard in double elmination
"Top Chef Seattle" is back with another surprise double elimination -- and this time, no winner.
As the episode opens, we find out it's Stefan Richter's birthday, and he's worried this is the day he'll be kicked off. "When I was competing in New York," he says, "everybody got kicked off on their birthday, and I was like 'birthday curse' -- f**k, no. I don't want to go home on my fortieth birthday."
Forewarning? Hmm ... turns out, not so much.
Quick-Fire Challenge
The cheftestants meet Padma Lakshmi and guest judge, Seattle chef Daisley Gordon at Pike's Place Market. The chefs are told to divide into teams of two, and as usual, some are less than pleased with the chef they've been stuck with. They're told their challenge is to make break fast to go ... on a stick, for 50 of the market's workers. They're given one hour to set...

This week opens with Kelly lamenting, “Andrea went home last night, and it’s hard…” Are the chefs gonna pretend to be sad every time someone goes home? Because it will happen literally every single week. Can someone just step up and say “Another one of the interchangeably poor chefs lost again, getting us closer to the weeks that matter?” Stefan Richter actually used to scream that into the camera six times per episode. This week’s Quickfire: Cook some Ethiopian-inspired cuisine for Marcus Samuelsson, who cooks Ethiopian food. How Convenient. Also D.C. has a...
