"[The wise general] must be able to mystify his officers and men by false reports and appearances and thus keep them in total ignorance." --Sun Tzu, the Art of War Russell Hantz is a lot like the Saints -- comes from Louisiana, unstoppable on the playing field. Now that he's got a majority in Aiga, his only decision is which Galu to sack first. No surprise that he decides on John; the rocket scientist knows too much, and traitors are not to be trusted. But what earns Russell his umpteenth Fishy is the way he builds consensus -- by insinuation and manipulation. Survivor...

Erik Cardona, a 28-year-old bartender who recently started a production company in Los Angeles called Carson Brothers Creations, was the first post-merge cast-off on Survivor: Samoa despite being a member of the dominant Galu tribe. He spoke with People about the unexpected turn of events and why he didn't play that darn idol. --Carrie Bell You have joined an elite club of players who find their tiki torches snuffed despite having an idol in their pocket. You put me in that exclusive club with guys like Ozzie, James and Brendan and that’s a hell of a compliment. I’m proud, but it’s bittersweet because everyone would rather not be in that club in hindsight. Why didn’t you play it? Was it truly a blindisde? The whole thing was done in five minutes. It was an idea that caught fire and morphed into more than the truth. It...

The winner of "Survivor" Tocantins edition has been determined and he spared sometime to comment on the final tribal council. Jt aka James Thomas Jr. received unanimous votes, the second in the show's history after Earl Cole in "Survivor: Fiji". He also brought home an additional $100,000 for being a fan favorite.
Sitting down with the runner up Stephen Fishbach, he made commentaries regarding his feeling when the votes from Coach, Brendan, Taj, Erinn, Debbie, Sierra and Tyson were cast. Jt thought that the voting would go as follow: Stephen at least got votes from Taj, Erinn as well as Tyson and he from Coach, Debbie and Brendan. Then Sierra's vote will be the determining factor. Stephen agreed to this.
Also, Stephen said that he heard of people's reaction of the final tribal council from the back stage of the New York reunion. "Whenever Jt said something they would applaud...

It was a night filled with deception as Coach and Debbie tried to pull Sierra back into an alliance with them -- and then lied about it when confronted by Jt and Stephen. But when Coach won immunity, he was safe for another week -- and Sierra found herself on the chopping block. The Insider: Why was everyone so hard on you? Sierra Reed: That is the million-dollar question, is it not? From the beginning, I set a certain tone that put a target on my back. I think females in this game are easily disposable unless they ban together, especially younger ones. I think I did well in challenges surprisingly, so it made me a threat to people like Stephen or Coach who couldn't keep up with me. I think at the moment that Brendan went home and a lot of them found out that the reason I didn't come up to them,...

Watching any kind of competition is always more enjoyable if you have someone to root for. The problem with the last third of this season of Survivor is that there is no one left to root for. At this point, I think I'm rooting for Jeff Probst, and he's not going to win. All I have are people to root against, and that list is headed by Voldetool, aka "Dragonslayer" (in his dreams), aka the Wimmin-Hater, aka "The Chosen One" (chosen only by himself), aka Gasbag Emeritus, aka Dork Vader, aka Ex-Coach Full-of-Himself. This man is such a pig, you could catch swine flu from him. Each week my loathing of this ghastly excuse for a man grows and grows, and to have to keep looking at his revolting face, and hyper-revolting ego, while my beloved Brendan Hot Pecs is stuck...

Tyson Apostol has become the latest contestant to be voted off Survivor after a dramatic Tribal Council. Sierra Reed presumed it would be her turn to leave the show, following the departure of her ally Brendan Synnott last week, but Tyson was blind-sided by his rivals at the Council vote. Tyson had mocked Sierra's plight during the episode, telling the camera's: "I like to see Sierra scramble and mope. I've never liked Sierra. "To me she has zero worth. I mean, I guess her parents probably love her." Later in the show, he added: "Tonight's tribal council is going to be awesome. I'm hoping that Sierra will cry a lot." This week's immunity challenge involved a shuffleboard game, but contestants could choose not to play and eat pizza's for the duration if they were willing to be (more)...

Pre-credit sequence. While I'm a bit sad to see Brendan and his Jt-generated man-crush sent home, the absence of the Dragon means we no longer need to hear about Coach's alleged Dragon Slayer status, right? Right? The "Survivor Tocantins" Elite Eight returns to camp at the start of Thursday (April 23) night's episode. Everybody is happy and gloating. Well, everybody except for Sierra, who calls it the worst night she's had in Brazil, Sierra asks if things can at least be congenial in her last days in the game. She begins her campaign for Miss Congeniality by apologizing to Coach...

Thursday night's "Survivor: Tocantins" was jam-packed with extreme highs and extreme lows, on an episode where the next castoff appeared to be a foregone conclusion. With her only ally, Brendan, blindsided last week, Sierra found herself having to beg for her tribemates' mercy. At the beginning of the episode, she told them: "Obviously I know I'm the next one to go so let's just try to make these next couple of days congenial, I guess." "I like to see Sierra scramble and mope," Tyson told the camera. "I've never liked Sierra," he said. "To me she has zero worth. I mean, I guess her parents probably love her." For his part, Coach spent some time basking in the glory of orchestrating Brendan's ouster. Continuing to dub himself "the dragon slayer," Coach told the camera, "The dragon slayer has vanquished the dragon once and for all," pausing the yell for dramatic effect before continuing,...

Survivor's Brendan Synnott is a multimillionaire businessman, but he's not above a lowly feud, especially one with a marketing tie-in. His rival in the hopefully good-natured spat is Benjamin "Coach" Wade, who survived Thursday's Tribal Council when Brendan's campaign against him collapsed. Brendan now considers Coach out of touch with reality, perhaps because of a story he told on the show about being kidnapped by near-cannibals.

"This goodly frame, the earth, seems to me a sterile promontory." - Hamlet, William Shakespeare. Ashes. Ashes. All is ashes. In just two consecutive hideous episodes of Survivor Tocantins, all hope has been lost. Evil has triumphed. Imagine if, in The Return of the King, Frodo had been eaten by Shelob, and the Ring returned to Sauron. Imagine Voldemort killing Harry Potter and leveling Hogwarts. This episode of Survivor was like that, only worse. Much, much worse. If you have tears, prepare to shed them. Survivor was very stingy with studly hunks this season. We really only had two: Joe Adonis and Brendan Hot Pecs. Last week Joe was removed from play when his left leg contracted an alien virus, and began mutating into a great murderous beast with a will of its own, and the driving need to kill...

Brendan Synnott has to turn back home from Brazil where he was voted out of the tribal of "Survivor" Tocantins edition. Four out of eight of his tribal mates chose him to leave, which is a close call to Sierra who received three.
"Brendan's the dragon, I'm the dragonslayer, this is going to be the biggest power move to date of this game, no question about it," Benjamin "Coach" Wade said after Brendan lost for the team in the Immunity Challenge. Coach also stated his next target, saying "Sierra is the bowel movements that comes out of the dragon."

It was anyone's guess which way the wind would blow throughout Thursday's episode of "Survivor: Tocantins." Heading one camp was Coach, who had planned Brendan's ouster in last week's episode but was foiled when Tribal Council was canceled after Joe was sent home due to injury. Meanwhile, Brendan tried to amass his own troops. To open Thursday's show, the new Forza tribe sat around the fire, while Coach regaled them with tales of a deadly Amazonian adventure. According to Coach, he was captured by a band of indigenous people, tied up and beaten, after being dropped by a military helicopter into the jungle. He said he knew there would be trouble when, after feeling like he was being watched, he looked up and saw several people watching him. He told his tribemates: "They were probably four-and-a-half feet tall and they've got their bows and arrows drawn." He said that...

Tyson Apostol may have proved to be the somewhat evil and improbably psychic mastermind of Thursday's episode of Survivor: Tocantins, but Ben "Coach" Wade made sure all was disgested with an extra helping of samurai sayings and epic tales of integrity and cannibal evasion. He didn't leave much of an impact on either of the challenges—the first won by Debbie Beebe, Brendan Synnott and J.T. Thomas and the second by Tyson, meaning the former Timbiran scored immunity for the second week in a row. But Coach's gamesmanship is supplemented by an inimitable brand of straight-faced self-promotion that never fails to delight and amuse. (Never fails to amuse us, anyway.) Weigh in on which...

It was the third straight week that the Jalapao Tribe lost the Immunity Challenge on "Survivor: Tocantins -- The Brazilian Highlands" and had to face host Jeff Probst at Tribal Council. There was a lot of negotiating behind the scenes as to who would go home: Was it going to be Tamara “Taj” Johnson-George, who had the Immunity Idol, or would it be Sydney Wheeler? When the vote was counted, Taj's alliances held and 24-year-old Sydney, who lives in San Diego, Calif., was cast out of the Highlands. Et: Were you blindsided by the vote? I was. Sydney Wheeler: I knew it was coming, unfortunately. I had the feeling that something was going on, so I pulled Jt aside about an hour before Tribal Council. He told me that it was between Taj and me, and it was leaning toward me because Taj has a little more pull with the other tribe.

Tribe Jalapao is missing one more leg as 24-year-old Sydney Wheeler was cast out on the April 2 episode by her mates. Jalapao is now down to 4 while Timbira stands strong with 6 but next week in "Survivor", the teams will merge and there's a chance of Taj joining some of the people from Timbira that she has formed alliances with.
Since the beginning of the third week, Sydney has been worrying that if Jalapao doesn't win the immunity challenge then either she or Taj will leave. Joe however, was looking out for her by saying that she should not worry about it. Taj meanwhile was considering to open up about her having the immunity idol, but retracted later.
In the Reward Challenge, the teams must build a barricade using the poles available on the other team's cube of fortress. Ceramic pigs must be transferred through the barricade after five minutes by throwing.

Spoiler alert: Read to find out what happened on Thursday night's "Survivor." This week's episode of the CBS hit opened with the Timbira tribemates turning a pot of beans into a hill of beans. When Coach decided the beans needed to cook longer, he threw in some river water to "soften them up," raising the ire of his tribemates who knew that the "dirty river water" would need to be boiled in order to be edible. Unfortunately, a rainstorm followed, causing the beans to take longer to cook, and by the time they were done, they were burned on the bottom. Brendan called it "another one of those Coach moments" while Sierra said, "There's just a part of me that finally had just had it." Over at Jalapao camp, Taj and Stephen continued to strategize over their secret four-way alliance with Timbira tribemates Brendan and Sierra, debating about whether to...

***Spoiler Warning*** This interview contains spoilers about Thursday night’s episode of Survivor: Tocantins.
For the first four episodes of Survivor: Tocantins, Spencer Duhm, at nineteen-years-old the youngest Survivor competitor ever, mostly flew under the radar as his team did fairly well in the challenges. Spencer worked hard, didn’t make any enemies, and also kept the fact he was a gay man from his teammates. Therefore it was rather surprising when he was voted off his tribe on Thursday’s episode. Indeed, given his age, fitness, and devotion to the game, many had pegged him to go much further.
AfterElton.com caught up with him the day after his elimination to discuss his strategy, his relationship with previous Survivor winner Todd Herzog, as well as his controversial statements about what kind of gay guy he considers himself.
AfterElton.com: Hi Spencer, thanks so much for talking to us.

Jalapao took the concept of fighting tooth and nail to another level on tonight's Survivor: Tocantins. Alas, J.T. Thomas' offering to the dental gods couldn't secure a victory for his tribe, and Timbira, while not one for reward challenges, got to skip Tribal Council for the second week in a row. Will Jalapaoans Taj Johnson-George and Stephen Fishbach and Timbirans Brendan Synnott and Sierra Reed get a chance to put their fourway super-alliance into action, or did those ties start unraveling Thursday as Taj's time spent in exile took center stage when it came time for Jalapao to assess its strengths? First off, Jalapao most successfully completed the sprint-spin-dizzy-balance-beam-walk reward...

The next morning, leadership is up for discussion at a tribe pow-wow. Tyson's Ok with letting Brendan and Coach fight it out. "I wasn't paying attention," he says. "I don't care." Timbira and Jalapao are now equal in the number of members after bus driver Sandy was voted out of "Survivor", Tocantins edition, on Thursday, March 5 episode. She got four out of the 6 votes from her tribe, the other two being Sidney and Joe. "I stayed around a lot longer than I thought I was going to," Sandy said after the elimination. "I'm real proud of myself."
The ninth day was basically an episode focused on Sandy's annoying trait and Sydney's flirtatious strategy. When the Jalapao team won in the The Strongest Man Alive challenge through J.T., they get to raid Timbira's camp but out of fear that they will merge or shuffled in the future, the men only took one of the beans sacks and a water can. Sandy thought it was a stupid idea.
Sandy was also in altercation with Sidney who obviously used her charm in getting J.T. And Joe's royalty.

We had become so used to Timbira's losing ways and Coach's self-serving motivational speeches that we weren't prepared for Jalapao to lose a step on Survivor: Tocantins. Well, not at first. But because Exile Island regular Taj Johnson-George is so physically dominant and was the last one standing during tonight's weight-bearing Reward Challenge, she indirectly helped her tribe acquire the ammo that led to the latest elimination. And apparently Jalapao was more than ready to take a sojourn to Tribal Council. While Taj was busy sitting in exile with Sierra Reed and filling the slight blonde in on her plan to form a fab foursome along with Bff Brendan Synnott and Jalapaoan Stephen...

Anyone else get disoriented after watching the scantily clad blindfolded tribe members wander through an obstacle course to trigger a cascade of corn and water and shakily fill their buckets? Over and over again? It's what Timbira and Jalapao had to do, though, to win an umbrella, a hammock, chairs, blankets and other means of comfort. Despite J.T. Thomas' face full of corn, Joe Dowdle proved a more efficient seeing-eye dog than Debbie Beebe and Jalapao won its second challenge in a row, enabling its members to rest their heads on pillows for a change and send Brendan Synnott off to Exile Island. Brendan in turn picked Jalapao's resident former popster, Taj Johnson-George, to accompany him once...

What one word comes to mind about this episode of Survivor: Tonkatoys? Hmmm ... .oh, yeah! B-o-o-ring! The only thing saving it from a down arrow was a bromance in the works (more on that later) and the fact that the Brazilian heat has all the guys stripping down to their skivvies.

We start off with the Jalapenos trudging back to camp after voting off Girl Gone Too Soon To Name last week. In infrared we witness Crazy Lady Sandy running around hugging and kissing everyone as she thanks them for not voting her shrieking self off instead. Given that the night camera makes it look like she's sporting a scary ass mustache, I'm thinking she'd be better off just shaking hands.
On a side-note, I've always been creeped out by how everyone's eyes look in the nighttime shots on Survivor. Now they remind of the dead-eyed parents in Coraline.

The audition is over and the new season of "Survivor" is ready to get a kick start. The 16 castaways that will participate in the Tocantins edition of the reality game, have been announced. The line-up includes among others, models, a Grammy Awards nominee and a 19-year-old.
Sydney Wheeler (24), Sierra Reed (23) and Candace Smith (31) are models that will serve the women power. Tamara 'Taj' Johnson-George (37) meanwhile was one third of singing group Swv that grabbed a nomination at the Grammys and who was the star of reality show "I Married a Baller" in 2007. Also, if "Survivor: Gabon" had the oldest contestant, the Tocantins finds the youngest one in college student Spencer Duhm (19).
As usual the castaways will be exiled for 39 days in a remote area, building strategy and surviving the nature. This time the location takes place on a "rugged" highland of Brazil, Tocantins, where there are plenty of rivers but the temperatures can be unforgiving.
