Kourosh Ahari’s ‘The Night’ and Lluís Danés’ ‘The Barcelona Vampiress’ to open genre festival.
UK genre film festival Grimmfest has revealed the line-up for its first Easter edition, which will open with Kourosh Ahari’s The Night and Lluís Danés’ The Barcelona Vampiress.
The spin-off event to Grimmfest was established after its traditional October festival was moved online, due to the pandemic, and was meant to mark a return to physical screenings for the organisation. But ongoing cinema closures and restrictions will also see the Grimmfest Easter Edition go virtual from April 1-5.

US release scheduled for first quarter 2021.
Level 33 Entertainment has acquired worldwide sales to the Mexican single-shot thriller and festival award-winner Rendez-Vous.
Pablo Olmos Arrayales directed the film about a woman on a date that appears to be going well except for one thing – her date lied to her, and she does not know why.
Eugenia Orozco, Braulio Fragoso, and Arrayales of Axolotl Entertainment produced the Spanish-language film.
Arrayales brokered the deal with Andreas Olavarria of Level 33. The company has earmarked a first quarter 2021 US release and is continuing talks with international buyers at AFM and beyond.

Make sure to check out the fake trailer to Spanish director Pablo Olmos Arrayales’ alien invasion film, Alone (Solos). Known for a few shorts, this will be his first full length feature. Although this is unofficial trailer to a non-existent film, Arrayales is creating quite the buzz with this small yet savory taste. The story looks as though it’ll involve international hysteria starting in Madrid Spain, as aliens bring about bouts of earthquakes, high temperatures, and a good dose of murder.
Alone’s mock trailer shows much promise since it looks gritty and very suspenseful, but cheap CGI and overacting does give it a straight-to-dvd feel. Are you excited to see further development of Arrayales’ vision, or should it just stay as a premature idea? Decide for yourself by seeing the mock trailer below. Alone’s script is currently being written, and further updates are Tba.

We were so excited about this trailer which, by the way, is pretty sweet, that I’m sure the following bit of news is going to disappoint a few of the other Qe writers.
Avery, our fabulous researcher, sent over a trailer for Alone (Solos), a film that, from all indications, is an alien invasion story.
The project comes from a Mexican director now living in Spain named Pablo Olmos Arrayales. Arrayales has made a number of short films some of which have garnered him a few awards but Alone will be his first feature. The key words here are “will be” since the trailer is actually a fake trailer for a film that doesn’t exist. Yet.
That doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll never get to see it. Arrayales confirmed he is currently working on the script for a full length feature so cross your fingers and we...
