Cobra Kai season 6: Netflix announces premiere dates for 15 episode, 3 part conclusion to the series
Production on the sixth and final season of the hit Netflix series Cobra Kai, a continuation of the Karate Kid film franchise, was delayed several months due to the writers and actors strikes last year – but the extended wait is going to be worth it, because Netflix has just announced that the show is wrapping up with a 15 episode season (previous seasons consisted of 10 episodes), and they’re splitting the episodes up to make it a three part event! As they put it, “The end of a legacy… deserves a Grand Finale.” They’ve also revealed premiere dates: Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 1 premieres July 18, 2024. Part 2 premieres November 28, 2024. The Finale Event comes in 2025.
I’m hyped to finally have premiere dates for most of the episodes, because this show has become one of my all-time favorites over the course of the previous five seasons. I grew up on the Karate Kid movies and always enjoyed them,...

And you thought waiting for the back half of a “Stranger Things” season was agonizing. Netflix is splitting the final season of “Cobra Kai,” Season 6, into three parts.
You read that right. Though it has become commonplace for Netflix to divide new seasons of its biggest hits into two parts, this is the first time the streamer has split a season (of any series) into thirds. The next-up example of a hit Netflix original being halved is mere weeks away. The eight-episode “Bridgerton” Season 3 will premiere the first four on May 16 and the back half on June 13.
“Cobra Kai” Season 6, Part 1 premieres on July 18, 2024; Part 2 premieres November 28, 2024; and finally, Part 3 (dubbed “The Finale Event”) will have to wait for 2025. We do not yet have a specific date for the final one-third.

When Cobra Kai returns to Netflix for its sixth and final season, the Karate Kid spinoff plans to expand the Miyagiverse significantly. The teen-focused drama Crane kicked martial arts action fans in the face in 2018, building on the Karate Kid legacy started by Ralph Macchio (Daniel Larusso), William Zabka (Johnny Lawrence), and Pat Morita (Mr. Miyagi). With every season, Cobra Kai has grown through fan-service casting, interpersonal drama, and hard-hitting action. No one could have predicted the Miyagiverse would expand the way it has because of Cobra Kai, and now the show’s co-creator, Jon Hurwitz, says fans can expect Season 6 to explore the franchise in exciting ways like never before!
In a thread on Twitter/X, Hurwitz assured fans the final season of the series delivers big surprises, in-depth character flashbacks, and plot elements that expand the Miyagiverse.
“Season 6 expands the ‘Karate Kid/Cobra Kai’ universe more than the first 5 seasons combined.

The number of actors the Netflix TV series Cobra Kai has brought back to reprise their characters from the Karate Kid films has been very impressive. Not only do you have Ralph Macchio and William Zabka back as Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence, but there’s also Martin Kove and Thomas Ian Griffith as villains John Kreese and Terry Silver, Yuji Okumoto and Sean Kanan as villains-turned-allies Chozen Toguchi and Mike Barnes; Ron Thomas, Rob Garrison, and Tony O’Dell as Johnny’s former Cobra Kai buddies; and appearances by Elisabeth Shue as Ali Mills, Tamlyn Tomita as Kumiko, and Robyn Lively as Jessica Andrews. They even brought Traci Toguchi back as Yuna, the “Girl Bell Ringer” she played in The Karate Kid Part II. But one actor who might not be returning from the films is Hilary Swank, who played Julie Pierce in the 1994 film The Next Karate Kid.

Rumor has it that Netflix was originally planning to release the sixth and final season of their hit series Cobra Kai, a continuation of the Karate Kid film franchise, this month. The cast and crew were heading into production back in May (Netflix even released some table read footage) – but then the writers strike hit, causing filming to shut down. Then came the actors strike, which made sure it stayed shut down a while longer. But both of those strikes are now over, and cast member Courtney Henggeler has revealed that Cobra Kai season 6 is finally going to start filming / resume production next month!
The folks at Screen Rant took the opportunity to ask Henggeler about Cobra Kai when they crossed paths with her at a red carpet event. When they asked for info on what fans can expect from the new season, Henggeler answered, “I wish I knew. I...

Much like Daniel Larusso went from underdog to All-Valley karate champion, "Cobra Kai" has gone from a legasequel no one asked for or had too much faith in, to one of Netflix's biggest hits. The TV sequel to "Karate Kid" became a shining beacon amidst the fast-decaying YouTube Red streaming platform, offering a thrilling, compelling, and endlessly watchable story with complex characters and a fascinating story of legacy, rivalry, and generational patterns. All of this wrapped in a juicy karate-themed soap opera where everything and everyone revolved around the martial art.
When the show made the jump to Netflix, it became the closest thing to a live-action anime that we've got. Somehow, just like the "John Wick" movies revealed that the entire planet revolves around hitmen, "Cobra Kai" does the same with karate. Gangs are formed around competing dojos, no one seems to call the cops even when houses...

“Cobra Kai never dies” – that may be true, but all good things must come to an end, including the hit Netflix show that announced the upcoming sixth season will be its last. The series that has quickly become a cult classic (just like the original film) centers around the premise of karate and the two different styles/variations of the martial art that Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) teach to their students. Despite airing more than thirty years after the original movie premiered, Cobra Kai has risen to be one of Netflix’s top shows of all time and will be sorely missed by it’s beloved fans.
Despite the inevitable disappointment from fans who would love to see the series continue on, audiences can rest assured knowing that the sixth and final season will be bigger and better than all the others, as promised by the shows creators.

“Reacquainting the world with ‘The Karate Kid’ universe has been our humble honor,” series creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg wrote in a statement posted to social media. “Making ‘Cobra Kai’ has allowed us to join the same hallowed dojo once inhabited by the great Robert Mark Kamen, John Avildsen, Jerry Weintraub, and all the amazing original cast members. It has also enabled us to play sensei, expanding the original storylines and birthing a new generation of underdogs. We’ve never once taken this opportunity for granted.
“Our day one goal with ‘Cobra Kai’ has always been to end it on our terms, leaving the Valley in the time and place we’ve always imagined.

There’s no word yet on when it will arrive, but series creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg promised it will be soon.

Netflix’s Cobra Kai returned for its fifth season on September 9 and since then, the popular series has taken control of the No. 1 on the streamer’s top 10 list with no signs of slowing down.
And thanks to that continued success, series creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg are in very high demand. The trio is currently working on their upcoming Netflix series Obliterated, a “high octane” action-comedy that tells the story of an elite special forces team who thwarts a deadly threat to Las Vegas.
Deadline also recently revealed exclusively that Heald, Hurwitz, and Schlossberg are working on a film for Paramount Pictures titled Sam and Victor’s Day Off, a spinoff of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off focusing on the valet drivers who went on a joyride in the John Hughes film.
With a sixth season of Cobra Kai yet to be confirmed, could it potentially be delayed?...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you haven’t watched all of “Cobra Kai” Season 5, now streaming on Netflix
Every season of “Cobra Kai” seems to one-up itself in terms of dramatic fights, returning “Karate Kid” characters and tantalizing cliffhangers. Season 5, now streaming on Netflix, is no exception, with the finale teasing an inevitable Season 6 — which hasn’t officially been greenlit by Netflix, but the creators say they already have plans for.
Season 5 ends with Kreese (Martin Kove) faking his death and escaping from prison, setting up his return as a possible antagonist if “Cobra Kai” is renewed. With Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) now arrested, things should be quieter in the Valley, unless Kreese seeks payback against Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio). Johnny might also have his hands full with a baby at some point soon, with Carmen (Vanessa Rubio) now expecting.

Cobra Kai's fifth season is shaping up to be its most dramatic.
Netflix on Tuesday dropped the official trailer for Season 5, and it's a lot.
Despite the series being a spinoff of the hit movies, it has managed to take us on a wild ride, complete with new and established characters.
Sean Kanan's Mike Barnes is not in the trailer, but there is a lot of Kreese behind bars.
Hey, we won! Kreese will still be scheming from behind the scenes, which is perfectly on brand for him.
"Following the shocking results of the All Valley Tournament, Season 5 finds Terry Silver expanding the Cobra Kai empire and trying to make his "No Mercy" style of karate the only game in town," the logline teases.

When Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) announces “Today is a turning point at Cobra Kai,” he means it. Every season of this show has ended in a game-changing cliffhanger. Last season, Sam’s (Mary Mouser) shocking loss to Tory (Peyton List) at the All Valley Karate Championship forces Daniel (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny (William Zabka) to close their dojos, Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang respectively. Silver is poised to take over the whole valley with Cobra Kai dojos. But after the abuse that he amassed upon teenage Daniel way back in The Karate Kid Part III, Daniel wants to cut the head off the snake, specifically the cobra.

You officially have four months to pick up that karate gi from the dry cleaner. “Cobra Kai” Season 5 is set to premiere on Netflix on September 9, fans learned Thursday during Night 7 of the 2022 “Netflix Is a Joke” festival. Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched Season 4 of Netflix’s “Cobra Kai.”
Xolo Maridueña, who stars as Miguel Diaz on “Cobra Kai,” had a big New Year’s Eve. No, he wasn’t out drinking (he’s 20) or partying (there’s a pandemic), but Season 4 of his Netflix series, a follow-up to the ’80s classic “Karate Kid,” was released that day, quickly becoming the top show on the streamer.
Season 4 began with Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio), once teenage rivals from the original “Karate Kid,” temporarily putting aside their differences. Johnny and Daniel combined their Eagle Fang and Miyagi-Do schools in order to take down Johnny’s old karate dojo Cobra Kai, after it was taken over by brutal sensei John Kreese (Martin Krove). But Johnny and Daniel’s truce is short-lived, and Johnny goes back to training Miguel and his students...

Move over “Sunday Night” football jam. Carrie Underwood has a new rock song to belt — this one on streaming.
The former “American Idol,” who sings the theme to NBC’s “Sunday Night” NFL game each week, made a surprise appearance performing Survivor’s “The Moment of Truth” in the recently released fourth season of “Cobra Kai” on Netflix. Underwood covered the song, which appeared in the first “Karate Kid” movie, at the All Valley Karate Tournament featured in the two-part season finale.
“I grew up watching Daniel and Johnny, and I can’t believe I actually get to be a small part of the legacy that is the ‘Karate Kid,'” Underwood said in a statement. “Once I discovered ‘Cobra Kai’ a few years ago, it became one of my favorite shows! I had so much fun being on the set and singing such a classic song. I cannot wait to watch every new episode!

The drama is at an all-time high as the All Valley Tournament arrives.
Netflix on Thursday dropped the official trailer for Cobra Kai Season 4 and features a lot of foreshadowing.
The Miyagi Do and Eagle Fang are training for the tournament that should end the feud dating back to the 1980s.
The clip also teased the return of Silver, who was last seen on The Karate Kid III.
Thomas Ian Griffith is headed back to the universe, and no, it's not a good thing for the characters we like.
“The only other person who knows how to teach Cobra Kai is you," Kreese tells the villain.
We also get a glimpse of Robby teaching the new group the Miyagi Do way.
"To beat the enemy, it helps to know the enemy’s playbook,” he says.

Netflix debuted a trailer for Season 4 of “Cobra Kai,” which premieres on Dec. 31.
The series takes place more than 30 years after the events of the 1984 film “The Karate Kid,” which culminated in Daniel Larusso’s (Ralph Macchio) triumph against Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) at the All Valley Karate Tournament. Their rivalry lasts throughout the decades, but in Season 4, Daniel’s Miyagi-Do and Johnny’s Eagle Fang dojos join forces to take down the Cobra Kai dojo led by their enemy John Kreese (Martin Kove) at the All Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament.
“If Johnny and I can actually work together and we win, Cobra Kai will be out of business,” Daniel says to his wife Amanda (Courtney Henggeler) in the trailer, which you can watch below.
“You gotta take things to the next level,” Johnny says to his students. “Eagles do not respond. They swoop down and take whatever they want.
