Known for his role as Carl Grimes on “The Walking Dead,” Chandler Riggs is back this month in the brand new fan film The Spider, which just shattered 1 million views on YouTube.
It’s not hard to see why, as the 9-minute short imagines Spider-Man as a Cronenbergian body horror movie! You can watch The Spider down below to join the million+ other viewers.
Chandler Riggs plays a new version of Peter Parker in the short from writer/director Andy Chen, and his origin story is much the same as we’ve seen before. Peter gets bitten by a spider, and he starts to realize that he’s gained some pretty wild super-powers as a result.
The Spider starts off innocently enough, with Riggs’s Peter Parker taking to the skies like Toby Maguire and Tom Holland before him. But it’s not long before things, well, take a turn…...

"You can talk to me. What did we say about responsibility, Peter?" This ain't your Aunt May's Spider-Man. Now available to watch online is a 10-minue short film called The Spider, described as a "horror take on Spider-Man." Joining the other two spider horror films this year - Sting and Infested. Written and directed by Andy Chen, an up-and-coming young filmmaker who goes under the name "Locust Garden" on social media, the short film features a legit cast. Chandler Riggs (seen in "The Walking Dead" & "A Million Little Things") stars as Peter, with Holgie Forrester, Carl Addicott, Matthew Tyler Vorce, Ben Thomas, and Caylee Cowan. It is an entirely fan-made, non-profit film inspired by Spider-Man. It gets really dark at the end, going down a path similar to Cronenberg's The Fly, which is exactly what I was hoping to see in this short. Super disgusting! Sony would never do anything...

Among all the horror-thrillers that have caught hold of fans to the core, Chandler Riggs’ The Spider seems to gaining an edge. A short fanmade film with a legit cast that actually nailed it, this movie has been inspired by none other than the beloved friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, though it differs in wide ranges when it comes to the themes and genre.
The Spider (2024).
That said, this version is a darker take on the web-slinger and is actually a horror movie from the up-and-coming young filmmaker, Andy Chen. Nonetheless, fans’ reactions to this short film are nothing short of spectacular, with many of them even giving this “horror take on Spider-Man” perfect scores for everything — from the cast to the storyline to the special effects and whatnot.

This review contains massive episode spoilers.
Right before he blew up the bridge back in his final episode from the flagship series, a fatally-injured Rick Grimes uttered “I found them” before he was thrust into the chaos of the Civic Republic Military and stolen from his children’s lives for years. Three seasons and six jam-packed, spin-off episodes later, Rick has indeed finally found them, and the long journey of a sheriff from Atlanta faced with the end of the world has reached its conclusion.
“The Last Time” kicks off with a beautiful dynamic shot passing over a table filled with the remnants of an intensive planning session and candlelit dinner. Michonne and Rick are romantically enjoying the eve before their bold attack on the Civic Republic Military. Above all, “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” has up-held its commitment to being a romance set within the zombie apocalypse.

Based on Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard’s comic book series of the same name The Walking Dead is a post-apocalyptic horror drama series. The show stars Andrew Lincoln as the lead along with the cast including Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Chandler Riggs, Melissa McBride, and more. The series ran from 2010 to 2022 for eleven seasons with 177 episodes.
The third season of the television series was the season that had garnered the most attention and the series received positive response from the critics and the audience. AMC’s post-apocalyptic horror drama has been compared to HBO’s The Last of Us starring Pedro Pascal and now some eagle-eyed fans have pointed out the difference in Lincoln and Pascal’s pay per episode for their respective shows.

Chandler Riggs is best known for playing the character Carl Grimes on eight seasons of The Walking Dead, but he has a few horror credits beyond that one – the short Jesus H. Zombie, the Stephen King-inspired Mercy, and the home invasion film Keep Watching. Now Variety reports that Riggs has signed on to star in the horror comedy Hacked, which has secured a SAG Interim agreement so it will be able to go into production during the ongoing Screen Actors Guild strike and is expected to start filming soon in Los Angeles and Tampa.
Shane Brady (Breathing Happy) will be directing the film, which is partially inspired by true events. Brady and producer Emily Zercher were hacked in 2021, and according to Variety “the first ten minutes of the film will be based on their experience. The rest of the film shows ‘what they wish they could have done to that bastard.

Chandler Riggs, the actor who grew up playing Carl Grimes on “The Walking Dead,” is set to return to the genre once more in Hacked. Variety reports today that the upcoming horror-comedy has been granted an interim agreement by SAG-AFTRA and is set to begin production soon.
Hacked follows “the story of a family who loses everything to a prolific and elusive hacker, aptly named ‘The Chameleon.’ Parents Amy (Augie Duke) and Mark (Shane Brady) have $20,000 stolen, and their kids Ralph (Owen Atlas) and Freddy (Collin Thompson) get their entire digital lives hacked — social media, video game items, even their pointless online homework! When the bank, social media platforms, and law enforcement aren’t able to help, the family takes matters into their own hands.”
It’s up to the capable true crime documentary obsessed kids to take down the hacker. Riggs will play the elusive antagonist called “The Chameleon.

When it comes to the biggest mistakes made by the writers of The Walking Dead, Carl Grimes’ (Chandler Riggs) death could be at the top of the list. Viewers of The Walking Dead saw Riggs grow up in front of their eyes, which made his death even more painful to see when it came unexpectedly in season 8. Glenn’s (Steven Yeun) death saw many viewers tune out for good, but the effect that Carl’s death had on viewership was so significant – it signalled the beginning of the end for The Walking Dead. Let me start by saying I am not now, nor have I ever been a fan of Rwby, an American anime series that has been chugging along since its debut in 2013. For the last few years, producer Rooster Teeth has managed to partner with DC Comics for crossovers between the warriors, trained and dedicated to protecting the world of Remnant from Grimms, actual monsters.
I suppose it was inevitable that the comics crossovers would eventually find their way to the animated world where Rwby enjoys its fame. So, released recently is Justice League x Rwby: Super Heroes & Huntsmen, Part One, available as a 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray/Digital HD combo pack from Warner Home Entertainment.

The good ol’ internet. It’s been our friend and our enemy since the military’s Arpanet network switched on in the late ‘60s. Online communication has led to an enormous amount of acquired knowledge, and it’s given many people their livelihood (this writer raises his hand). Internet memes, however, have also taken some of the best moments in TV history, shown them to the masses out of context, and in turn ruined the original intent of the message from said TV shows.
We’re here to look back on some of the biggest dichotomies between the incredible performances onscreen and the jokes and laughs they weren’t supposed to produce, but did, on social media and beyond.

"The Walking Dead" ended its 11th and last season with a bang. While three spinoffs are coming soon, including "Dead City," it was the final farewell to the flagship series. Throughout its run, diehard fans came to care deeply about its characters and were glued to their televisions, hooked into stories about survival and keeping humanity intact. Characters such as Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) made the show what it quickly became — a ratings juggernaut. It may not have reached the creative heights of "Breaking Bad" or "Game of Thrones," but it had immense heart. When a character was put on the chopping block, it was often a devastating, soul-rattling experience.
Across 11 seasons, there were plenty of deaths that broke millions of hearts. Whether you're talking about that Season 2 barn reveal, the emergency C-section, or that baseball bat scene in Season 7, the show relentlessly forced its audience to face death and perhaps question their mortality.

If you thought you spotted a familiar face in the background of the finale of "The Walking Dead," you were right! Chandler Riggs, the actor who played Carl, the son of Sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), had a cameo as an extra during a sequence at Hilltop in the series finale. He's not playing Carl, of course, who died via walker bite back in season 8, but is just another farmer helping create sustenance for the survivors of the apocalypse. Honestly, he's a little tricky to recognize given that he's grown up a bit and isn't wearing his trademark eyepatch, but it's still good to see Riggs is alive and well, even if his fictional counterpart wasn't so lucky.
Riggs wasn't the only familiar face that showed up in the finale since fans actually got a glimpse of Rick and Michonne (Danai Gurira) for the first time in years, but his...

Many shows use their series finale as an opportunity to bring back characters from the past and “Rest in Peace,” the last episode of The Walking Dead, was no exception. The zombie drama’s final hour indeed brought back some familiar faces both in flashback form and in the present. You can read about that particularly thrilling latter passage over here so you don’t get spoiled in this space. But the finale came with some other cameos that you may have missed.
No, we’re not talking about the fact that Chandler Riggs (formerly Carl Grimes) turned up on set and got to be a background extra in an Alexandria scene. Nor are we talking about the fact that series producer and this episode’s director Greg Nicotero portrayed a zombie yet again (you can see him in the image accompanying this article). As “The Walking Dead” fans anxiously await the series finale on Sunday, November 20, 2022, it’s the perfect time to look back at the show’s dozens of Rip moments. The characters on AMC’s zombie apocalypse drama live in perpetual fear of death. In fact, of the entire Season 1 cast only a precious few are still alive as of today. Grab the tissues and tour our photo gallery above (or click here for direct access) highlighting 36 of the most shocking “The Walking Dead” deaths in order. Did we leave anybody out?

When you talk to someone about "The Walking Dead," one question inevitably comes up, and no matter the answer it's met with a word or nod of understanding. To an outside observer, it may sound a little bit like we're talking about sobriety. "When did you quit?" "I quit three years ago," or six, or seven. By my calculations, based on the difference between the highest point of the show's ratings and the lowest, there are at least 14 million of us walking around who once watched the apocalyptic drama series live, but stopped tuning in somewhere along the way. Maybe we're the real walking dead, or maybe it's the people who chose to keep trucking through the zombie series that felt like it would never end.

The end is almost here. The Walking Dead, the show that wanted to live forever, is now coming to a close…sort of. Though the series based on Robert Kirkman’s long-running zombie comic of the same name is airing its series finale on Nov. 20, the franchise itself will carry on in the form of numerous spinoffs.
Still, spinoffs or no, this is a fairly big moment in genre TV history. First premiering on Halloween night 2010, The Walking Dead was an instant ratings success for AMC and remained as such for much of its 11 seasons. It helped usher in a new era of fandom-friendly television for its network (which was coming off big prestige hits like Mad Men and Breaking Bad) and helped bring zombies back into the mainstream. With the 24th episode of its 11th season, The Walking Dead will finally be calling it quits.

After 11 seasons and 117 episodes, AMC’s zombie drama “The Walking Dead” is ready to shuffle off this mortal coil. The characters have traveled across several states, met and lost countless friends, and waged wars with walkers and humans alike. As we prepare to say goodbye in the series finale on Sunday, November 20, 2022 let’s take a look at the Top 10 best “The Walking Dead” episodes of all time.
10. “Here’s Negan” – Season 10, Episode 22
The six pandemic episodes of Season 10 vary wildly in style and in quality. But the final installment, “Here’s Negan,” provided an inspired backstory for Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s villain. Morgan’s real-life spouse Hilary Burton-Morgan steps in to play Negan’s wife Lucille, in what might just be the most emotionally raw performance from the actress to date. It’s devastating to watch the real-life pair play the emotional gut punch at the end of the episode.

Life is brutal in the zombie apocalypse. AMC’s “The Walking Dead” has killed off dozens of characters over the course of its 11-season run, from series regulars to beloved guest stars. Character deaths can deliver shocking gore (like when Emmy nominee Tyler James Wilson’s Noah has his face ripped apart in a revolving door) or a final heroic moment (as when Tony and Emmy nominee Tovah Feldshuh’s Deanna sacrifices herself while delivering a defiant scream). But the most memorable ends are the ones that rip at the hearts of viewers and leave them in a puddle of tears.
As “The Walking Dead” rockets toward its November 20 series finale, here are the top five most emotional deaths from the past 11 seasons.
Carl Grimes

The final eight-episode run of “The Walking Dead” continues with “A New Deal.” Things immediately pick up with the imprisonment of the reckless Hornsby (Josh Hamilton) and the desperate attempt for Pamela Minton to save her son Sebastian’s (Teo Rapp-Olsson) reputation. Meanwhile, Daryl bonds with Judith as they prepare to return home to Alexandria. It’s clear from these first two episodes that the back quarter of the show’s final season is not wasting any time.
Continuing the trend of opening the episode with classic footage, “A New Deal” shows a brief montage of Daryl Dixon’s journey in its opening minutes. Much like the Rick-centered footage from last week, this sequence is narrated by Judith Grimes. These montage spotlights on the legacy characters are not only emotional, but a fitting way to emphasize the importance of this final string of the narrative.

Throughout the years, many plot points on The Walking Dead have provoked fan ire. Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham’s (Michael Cudlitz) gory ends in the lineup. Carl Grimes’ (Chandler Riggs) unexpected gut-punch death, which still stings. Andrea’s (Laurie Holden) demise at the conclusion of Season 3, which baffled comics fans. But surprisingly, one of the most controversial moves from a show known for its sudden and heartbreaking deaths has been…all but confirming who lives. In The Walking Dead’s early seasons, the jig was much the same as on Game of Thrones: Almost anyone could go, at any time. Yes, certain main characters slipped through the Grim Reaper’s grasp, but “If Daryl Dies, We Riot” merch sold for a reason. In the early 2010s, it actually felt as though Daryl (Norman Reedus) could die. In a hypothetical world where that level of suspense existed throughout the...

This article contains spoilers for every season of The Walking Dead.
When a black and white comic book series titled The Walking Dead premiered among Image Comics’ monthly offerings in 2003, few would have guessed that it would spawn the multimedia franchise we know it as today. As one among many works that capitalized in a cultural resurgence in the zombie subgenre in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, The Walking Dead might have been a flash in the pan were it not for its world-building and revolving ensemble cast, which allowed for it to go mainstream with AMC’s 2010 TV adaptation.
The main series will have clocked in at 177 episodes by its Nov. 20, 2022 conclusion, making it one of the most prominent TV sagas of the modern era. Even here in the eleventh hour of the eleventh season, there are bound to be many excellent episodes on the way before all is said and done.

This article contains spoilers for Tales of the Walking Dead episode 1, Fear The Walking Dead, and The Walking Dead.
In general, the shows that make up The Walking Dead‘s expanded universe don’t tend to leave a lot of room for sentimentality. This is a world determined to drive humans to extinction, with threats all around. Be it the crumbling, zombie-infested cities or the harsh, unforgiving wilderness, there’s not a lot of succor to be had. With humans driven to banditry or worse, and the general difficulty of finding food and potable water in this universe, there aren’t a lot of time or resources for seeking out animal friendships.
Man’s best friend could be another casualty of the insatiable appetite of the dead. Fortunately, humans aren’t the only creatures on Earth with a knack for making do. Things are hard all over, but animals are...

It’s been almost 12 years since the first zombie trekked across our screen in the pilot episode of “The Walking Dead.” The journey has been long and sometimes extremely slow and drawn-out, but alas, it’s finally coming to a close.
It’s no wonder the series and its spinoffs have maintained such a huge following over the years. The series was already a hit in comic form, and after its debut in 2010 “The Walking Dead” became one of the biggest ratings hits on all of television, spawning spinoffs and web series to expand the universe.
Now that we’re coming to the end of the flagship “The Walking Dead” series (which is in its final season), it’s as good a time as any to go back and experience the entire universe as it unfolds in chronological order.

The Walking Dead may be ending with its upcoming 11th season, but many of the characters will live on. Fear The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond are both producing new runs, and Daryl and Carol will be returning in their own spinoff show once the main Twd series ends.
While all of these projects are exciting, none are as mysterious as Tales Of The Walking Dead. This anthology program is said to follow old and new characters alike across different forms of media, ranging from live action episodes to animation to even musicals. The possibilities are potentially endless. That being said, it seems that we now know of at least one familiar face who’ll be back.
Fans may have been hoping to see the return of favorites such as Glenn Rhee or Abraham Ford, and although we shouldn’t rule out appearances for either of those characters just yet,...

There aren’t many Walking Dead deaths as shocking as the fate of Carl Grimes. The season 8 midseason finale revealed that Rick’s son had been bitten by a walker, with the midseason premiere then seeing him succumb to the infection and meet his end. Based on the comics, fans fully expected Carl to last until the end of the show. In fact, his death caused a lot of controversy, with petitions created in a bid to get AMC to reverse the decision to kill him off.
In the end, though, they didn’t have any affect, as that’s the last we’ve seen of Carl on the series to date. But could Chandler Riggs return to the Twd universe for a cameo as Rick’s son in the future? The actor revealed that he’d love to while speaking virtually with Tommy Didario on his Let’s Stay Together podcast,...

The Walking Dead is one of the most unapologetically gruesome shows out there. After running for nearly a dozen seasons, there’s hardly anything audiences haven’t yet seen. From heinous violence to heartless betrayal, the story has addressed it all – and that’s without even mentioning the flesh-eating zombies.
With that in mind, fans were understandably surprised to learn that AMC actually toned down a scene shot by season 7 director Rosemary Rodriguez. The scene in question, Rodriguez told Undead Walking, takes place in the seventh episode, and has to do with the amount of skin shown on screen.

One of the most shocking deaths in Walking Dead history came in the season 8 midseason premiere, when Carl Grimes succumbs to being bitten by a walker. Fans were both heartbroken over his demise and furious that he’d been written out, as the character survives right through to the end of the comic book run, even reaching old age. As such, folks were looking forward to seeing that arc play out in real-life through actor Chandler Riggs on screen.
There was some controversy back in the day, then, with petitions calling for his death to be undone and the actor’s own father blasting the show’s bosses on social media. Riggs himself, though, is full of positive feelings about his time on The Walking Dead and doesn’t regret anything. A host of fan-favorite characters are expected to feature in AMC’s Walking Dead movies. We previously heard that Carol and even the long-deceased Shane (via flashback) could be joining Rick Grimes in the upcoming films, and now we’ve gotten word that another surprising cameo is being lined up.
According to our sources – the same ones who told us Karen Gillan is being eyed for Pirates of the Caribbean 6 and that Ahsoka Tano will cameo in The Mandalorian, both of which were correct – Rick’s son Carl might crop up in one of the movies during a flashback sequence. Apparently, AMC are keen for Chandler Riggs to reprise his role, and that’s something the fans will no doubt be delighted to hear. Though whether the actor himself would be up for it is another question entirely.

AMC’s zombie apocalypse drama “The Walking Dead,” based on Robert Kirkman’s comic book series, burst onto our television screens in 2010 and has been a ratings juggernaut ever since. Tour our photos above to see all of “The Walking Dead” seasons ranked from worst to best. Does your personal number one choice match ours?
10. Season 7
It was great to expand the world of the show by introducing The Kingdom and Oceanside. But the series felt the need to really marinate in the doom and gloom of Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham’s (Michael Cudlitz) murders at the top of the season. Season 7 is largely defined by a sense of helplessness against the threat of The Saviors and it quickly grew tiresome as each episode only presented more of the same.

Consider “Only” a variation on the “What would you do in this horrid situation?” subgenre. Only it’s more a “What would we do?” which can be an exponentially more challenging proposition. (Hard enough to agree on where to get takeout.)
Written and directed by Takashi Doscher, “Only” opens on the 400th day of an unceasing disaster that began with ash snowing down across the globe. The story moves back and forth in time, showing the pair under better circumstances and ever so slowly meting out the arrival and impact of the virus. As in many disaster films, newscasts and the radio broadcast do some of the exposition. That there is news, internet, water for a shower hints at the catastrophe’s strange arc.

And, this title is expected to show in a few theatres and on Digital platforms this March 6th. Chandler Riggs ("The Walking Dead") also stars, with this article serving as your gentle reminder that a post-apocalyptic thriller is releasing this week, a bit under-the-radar. Director Doscher has mentioned that he bases the writing of his films on a central emotion. Plot is secondary as Doscher explains: "I always start with a core emotion, a core theme, and normally...

"I'm not trying to control you, I'm trying to protect you." Vertical Entertainment has released an official trailer for an indie sci-fi drama titled Only, the second feature film from up-and-coming filmmaker Takashi Doscher (of Still previously). This originally premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last year, and arrives in theaters next month. After a comet releases a mysterious virus that begins to kill all the women in the world, a couple's relationship is severely tested. They hide out (from both the illness and the savages who hunt the remaining women) in their over-sterilized apartment, until they must venture out into the wilderness once again. Starring Leslie Odom Jr. & Freida Pinto, along with Chandler Riggs, Jayson Warner Smith, Joshua Mikel, Mark Ashworth, and Tia Hendricks. Not an original idea, but perhaps the film is good. Here's the first official trailer for Takashi Doscher's Only, direct from Vertical's YouTube: After...
