A new documentary is in the works exploring the mysterious founder of Bitcoin and the larger state of cryptocurrency.
Director Matthew Miele will helm the project, titled “Finding Satoshi.” The film will investigate the origins of Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin, whose identity and invention remains secret.
Tucker Tooley, the veteran filmmaker behind movies like “The United States vs. Billie Holiday” and “Den of Thieves,” will produce. Bestselling author William Cohan will interview notable experts on the topic, as well as executive produce with Greg Renker. The film aims to be the most comprehensive work examining cryptocurrency to date.
“With Matthew at the helm and Bill’s investigative complexity and nuance added to the mix, we are thrilled to start the hunt for answers about Satoshi Nakamoto and examine the rise of perhaps the greatest challenge to our financial world order as we know it,” said Tooley.

Wme-img has built itself into the world’s largest talent agency with a string of big deals this decade, like last year’s $4 billion deal to acquire mixed-martial arts organization Ultimate Fighting Championship. And Wednesday, the agency gave itself plenty of additional fuel, nabbing a $1.1 billion investment from Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Singapore sovereign wealth fund Gic in a move Wme-img says is all about growth — but may also mean the big-spending agency needed some more financial support. William D. Cohan, a financial journalist at Vanity Fair who has written extensively about the agency, strongly disagrees with...

Peter Bart and Mike Fleming Jr. worked together for two decades at Daily Variety. In this weekly column, two old friends get together and grind their axes, mostly on the movie business.
Fleming: I just can’t get past that a superb Super Bowl shaping up as one for the ages fell off the cliff so abruptly. Seahawks down by four, little over a minute left, both teams with timeouts. A miracle catch by Seattle by Jermaine Kearse who’d fallen on the ground. Seattle hands to the best goal line back in football, and Marshawn Lynch gets to the half yard line. I’m already thinking he scores on the next run, Seattle kicks off and Tom Brady, now down by three, has to race the Patriots up 40 yard for the game tying kick and overtime. No! Instead Seahawks coach Pete Carroll okays Russell Wilson to pass into the teeth of the Patriot defense.

We've reached the eve of that day that those two people over yonder actually get married which means that one way or another, all this news about dresses and Princess Diana and whatnot ends tomorrow. The wedding itself airs at 6am Eastern time, so those of you west of here can adjust that as necessary to know when to set your alarm for. I'm not planning on watching or participating in any wedding related drinking games because 1. I like sleeping, especially before sunrise and 2. I have to work tomorrow and while my boss may be lenient about a few royal wedding related mimosas, I doubt the officers of Miami-Dade county consider that an acceptable excuse for driving under the influence. Still, I'll watch the highlights and I hope all of you who are waking up for super early morning wedding gawking have a great time. And those of you who...
