Michael Grimm, the season 5 winner of “America’s Got Talent”, is currently hospitalized and sedated amid a mysterious illness.
The 44-year-old singer’s wife, Lucie Zolverva-Grimm, took to her husband’s Instagram account on Tuesday and shared an update with friends and family about Grimm’s condition. He’s currently in intensive care and has been hospitalized since Memorial Day. In the video, Lucie described Grimm as not feeling well for some time, saying he was looking “sickly” and was “fussy.”
At first, Lucie said, she thought Grimm may have had a stroke but “that wasn’t the case.” She said there were signs he wasn’t feeling well, like lacking energy and struggling to finish recent performances. It got to the point that he could barely walk and struggled to even lift his head.

Jackie Evancho is opening up about her anorexia recovery.
The 22-year-old singer, who found fame at age 10 while competing on season 5 of “America’s Got Talent”, told Yahoo how the making of her new cover album, Carousel of Time, has greatly contributed to her healing process.
Part of her recovery has involved interpreting songs like “Both Sides Now” from one of her biggest childhood influences, Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell, for the upcoming album, out Sept. 9. However, Evancho clarified that her personal struggles didn’t influence Mitchell’s “story-songs” that she leaned towards when putting together the tracklist.

Jackie Evancho is giving an important update on her health. After sustaining multiple back injuries in a 2021 car accident, the America's Got Talent singer discovered that she had developed osteoporosis due to an ongoing battle with anorexia. "They were abnormal breaks, breaks that you see in 80-year-olds," the 22-year-old, who placed second on the competition series in 2010, told People. "That's how I learned that my eating problems created osteoporosis." But recovery wasn't easy. "I had to eat [for my bones] to heal, and that really messed me up with my eating problems, because I was gaining weight to heal," she explained....

Lady Gaga delivered a rendition of the national anthem at Joe Biden’s inauguration that was both respectful, and very Lady Gaga.
Dressed in a tight black long-sleeved shirt embellished a golden dove brooch, and a billowing, bright red dress, Gaga sang into a golden microphone. She drew out the song’s notes, singing with proper, Streisand-esque pronunciation that nonetheless featured many flourishes.
She raised her left fist on the word “proudly,” and gestured with her right hand throughout the song. She brought flourishes on “home of the brave,” and drew out “banner yet wave.” And, as she often does after performances, she was crying gently after she finished.

Talk about prescient: “The Masked Singer” was all about covering up before masks were cool… or mandatory. “It’s the safest show if you’re a celebrity,” quips executive producer Craig Plestis. “We give you masks. It’s a little bit the tagline we’re using: Protect you protect your identity and your health.”
Now, as Season 3 of “The Masked Singer” ends its run with a two-night finale on Tuesday and Wednesday night, the world is in a very different place than it was when the season began back in February.
“I think the Masked Singer weathered the storm of this pandemic but also kind of kept America together a little bit,” Plestis tells Variety. “I really believe Masked Singer was this respite for an hour out of all the trauma that everyone is going through. This is the time we can bond with everyone that’s in the house right now.

“The Masked Singer” has only been around for three seasons, but already an unfortunate pattern is emerging: women are being shut out of the top positions. So far we’ve had two male winners in T-Pain (Season 1’s Monster) and Wayne Brady (Season 2’s Fox), as well as two male runners-up in Donny Osmond (Season 1’s Peacock) and Chris Daughtry (Season 2’s Rottweiler). To compare, the most successful females on Fox’s wild and wacky reality TV show both had to settle for third place: Gladys Knight (Bee) the first year and Adrienne Bailon (Flamingo) the second year.

Jackie Evancho is crossing her fingers that when you see her unmasked as The Kitty on tonight’s episode of “The Masked Singer” that you finally look at her as an adult and not the 10-year-old singing sensation you were introduced to many years ago on “America’s Got Talent.”

So that was pretty much my approach when I want on the show, which was instead of using my classical voice, I’m just gonna go full out pop star and see if anyone can figure it out from that.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 3, episode 15 of “The Masked Singer,” which aired May 6 on Fox.
Singer Jackie Evancho knows people still think of her as the young child who was an “America’s Got Talent” finalist a decade ago. But now she’s all grown up, which is why Evancho wanted to try her hand at “The Masked Singer.”
Evancho was the latest star to be unmasked on the hit Fox reality competition series, having been disguised as the Kitty. (Scroll down to watch her unmasking.)
“Everybody knows me as a 10-year-old little girl who resembles an angel and sings like a 50 year old,” she told Variety. “That’s always going to be a part of me but I’m 20 years old now and I have so much else inside of me that I wanted the world to know, and this whole other range...

The Kitty is just one of two women still in the running on season 3 of “The Masked Singer.” She and the rest of the contenders compete on “A Quarter Mask Crisis: The Quarter Finals,” which airs on May 6. The Kitty is sitting pretty after her performance last week of “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” by Marilyn Monroe. That over-the-top number had the four judges singing her praises.
That was a welcome change for the Kitty from the previous week when she ended up fighting for survival in the smackdown against the Banana. She won with her soaring vocals on “Unstoppable” by Sia. That song was more suited to her voice than the one that put her at risk of elimination: “True Colors” by Cyndi Lauper.
The Kitty is one of the strongest singers on the show. She shone in her first outing with her version of “Dangerous Woman” by Ariana Grande.

By this point in The Masked Singer‘s third season, I feel pretty solid in my guesses about the contestants’ true identities. And if I’m wrong on any of them from here on out, I’ll eat a bug.

The Kitty proved she really does have nine lives on “The Masked Singer.” She made it into the final six competing on April 29 by winning her smackdown against the Banana last week. She was “Unstoppable” after singing that Sia hit and the Banana peeled back his mask to reveal rocker Bret Michaels. The Kitty ended up in trouble when the four judges and studio audience were not won over by her cover of the Cyndi Lauper classic “True Colors.”
That song was not suited to her powerhouse vocals. The Kitty shone earlier in the competition with her rendition of the Celine Dion power ballad “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.” She was a stand-out in her first appearance with her version of “Dangerous Woman” by Ariana Grande. She followed that up with covers of country hits “Mercy” by Brett Young and “Mama’s Broken Heart” by Miranda Lambert.

The Masked Singer is really gonna keep trying to make “Battle of the Sixes” happen, eh? Ok then.
This week’s episode was the lead-up to next week’s Top 6 showdown, which meant that Banana, Kitty, Frog or Rhino was going to be sent packing at the end of the hour. When the evening was over, Masked Singer voters (if that’s even a thing) weren’t feeling the peel: Banana wound up getting sent home.

The Kitty is the lone woman competing on quarterfinal 2 of “The Masked Singer” on April 22. She is vying against the Banana, Frog and Rhino for one of the three remaining slots in the competition for the Golden Mask. She landed her spot in this round with her jaw-dropping vocals on Celine Dion power ballad “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” on the April 1 show.
It wasn’t a surprise that the Kitty chose this as one of her two encore performances on the special sing-along episode of “The Masked Singer on April 15. For the other, she went back to her debut on the show and her cover of “Dangerous Woman” by Ariana Grande. She earned a standing ovation from the studio audience and four judges for that performance and went on to impress with her versions of “Mercy” by Brett Young, and “Mama’s Broken Heart” by Miranda Lambert.

Jackie Evancho may have lost season 5 of “America’s Got Talent” in 2010 but she has been a big winner when it comes to record sales and concert sellouts. Her first Ep, “O Holy Night” went platinum in the U.S., and she has released six studio albums, all of which have gone to no. 1 on the Billboard classical albums chart. Such success made it even more surprising that she didn’t make the finals of the first season of “Agt: The Champions” in 2019.
However, Evancho could well win season 3 of “The Masked Singer’ if she is, indeed, the Kitty. All the signs point to her being the famous face hidden inside this costume. One of the most successful contestants to ever come out of “America’s Got Talent,” opera singer Jackie Evancho, now age 20, made a return trip to the franchise during the 2019 spinoff series “America’s Got Talent: The Champions.” With “Agt” set to return this summer on NBC, we thought it was the perfect time to revisit Evancho’s most powerful performance on the reality TV stage. In the Season 1 finale of “The Champions,” the then-18-year-old gave us all goosebumps by singing Barbra Streisand‘s “Somewhere” while donning a blue ballgown (watch above).
Judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Mel B and Heidi Klum were all speechless as they watched Evancho do her thing. Weeks earlier she had been eliminated in the first round of competition, but she still accepted their invitation to return in the finale’s results show for this non-competitive performance. The Kitty won’t be competing on “The Masked Singer” again until quarterfinal 2 on April 22. But the special sing-along episode on April 15 gives us a chance to revisit one of her stand-out performances from earlier in season 3. It has been a decade since singer Michael Grimm came to fame as the season 5 winner of “America’s Got Talent.” He is the only past winner of the reality show to compete on season 2 of “Agt: The Champions.” He edged out child opera singer Jackie Evancho to win back in 2010. While she has gone on to international stardom, he has been content to headline a long-running show in Las Vegas.
Michael recalls that he’d been inspired to enter “Agt” to try and win some money to help his grandparents recover from the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina. He never expected to take the top prize, fully expecting it to go to Jackie. “In my mind, she had already won.” Indeed as he explains, “I knew they were going to announce her name.”
