“Hightown” has been renewed for a third season at Starz.
The crime drama starring Monica Raymund aired its 10-episode second season between October and December of last year. In the second season of “Hightown,” the picture-perfect version of summer on Cape Cod clashes with its off-season reality. Jackie Quinones (Raymund) achieving her dream of becoming a real cop, is out to do some good in this world. Thrust immediately into the crime wave of deadly carfentanyl flooding the Cape, Jackie is laser-focused on bringing down drug dealer Frankie Cuevas (Amaury Nolasco), the man Jackie holds responsible for the death of her best friend, Junior.

Hightown Season 2 is off and running.
The series continues to impress with its compelling characters, some of the most well-written on the small screen.
Hightown Season 2 Episode 4 is set to air Sunday, November 7, and finds Renee in a wild situation.
TV Fanatic has an exclusive clip of the game-changing episode.
Leslie calls Renee to a meeting. Jackie accompanies Leslie, and Renee is immediately concerned about what the two women want.
Renee was an informant at one point, and Leslie tries to act like Renee did the department such a big favor.
Renee is too smart and knows they are both after something else, and she doesn't want to betray Frankie in the process.
The trajectory of the conversation changes the moment Leslie says they want Jorge.
Jorge has been getting under Renee's skin since his arrival on Hightown Season 2 Episode 1, so of course she would love nothing more than to see his downfall.

It's been a long year without Hightown.
The thrilling Starz drama is back!
We watched the first four episodes, and it features everything that made the inaugural season a success and more.
We got to chat with cast members Riley Voelkel (Renee), Amaury Nolasco (Frankie), Don Norwood (Al), Atkins Estimond (Oscito), Monica Raymond (Jackie), and James Badge Dale (Ray), as well as creator Rebecca Perry Cutter and EP Gary Lennon.
Hightown Season 2 gets off the ground running, with the characters in very different places than before.
With Frankie out of prison, we get to see a different layer of his and Renee's relationship, something that both Voelkel and Nolasco are happy about.
There's also some drama on the horizon for them because Frankie's cousin Jorge (Luis Guzman) is also on the scene, creating a lot of conflicts.
"He is the older cousin who Frankie really loves. And they obviously have a ton of history together,...

Hightown threw a curveball at viewers with its most recent episode.
Osito finally caught up with Krista, and well, Krista did not live to tell the tale. It was one of the most shocking TV scenes in recent memory.
We got to chat with the wonderful Atkins Estimond, who plays Osito, about that development, and so much more.
TV Fanatic: Osito managed to take down Krista in one of the most brutal ways possible. What did you think of that development?
Atkins Estimond: He was hoping that junior would be able to do this task.
They wanted to get rid of her in a way that wouldn't call a lot of attention to what was happening.
But that did not work as Junior kind of went in there and bungled the situation. So Osito had to step in and kind of improvise.
I think that at this point, it affected him.

Krista's storyline came to a grisly end on Hightown Season 1 Episode 5, but it was the type of development we needed to push Jackie closer to confronting her demons.
Hightown Season 1 Episode 6, airing Sunday at 8/7c on Starz, finds Jackie in a troubled state. The young woman she has been pursuing is dead, and the truth about Sherry's murder seems too far out of grasp.
Jackie continues to have nightmares, and Starz offered us an exclusive sneak peek at the latest of which.
Jackie is haunted by Krista, but will it push Jackie in the right direction to crack the case that has been plaguing her throughout Hightown Season 1?
The series has done exceptionally well in the storylining department. Rebecca Cutter and her team of writers have brought us an intricately plotted murder mystery with a timely story.
It makes sense then that the series has been renewed.

The show will go on for Hightown.
Starz has officially ordered a second season of the Monica Raymund-led drama series after a month on the air.
The series is averaging around 250,000 viewers and a 0.03 rating, coming in well behind Outlander, which had the timeslot before Hightown.
However, the show did come in well ahead of recently ended Vida.
Starz is a premium cable network, so it will be taking a lot of metrics into consideration when it makes renewal and cancellation decisions.
In a statement, Christina Davis, president of original programming at Starz, said, “Audiences are already deeply engaged with these flawed and complex characters and in a second season we will continue to dive deeper into the relationships between them amidst the shifting tides on the Cape.”

Starz has renewed crime drama “Hightown” for Season 2, the pay TV channel announced Thursday.
Set on idyllic Cape Cod, the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced series, which premiered May 17, “follows one woman’s journey to sobriety, intertwined with an unfolding murder investigation,” per Starz’s official description. “Jackie Quiñones, a hard-partying National Marine Fisheries Service agent, has her free-wheeling life thrown into disarray when she discovers a body on the beach – another casualty of Cape Cod’s opioid epidemic. As a result of this trauma, Jackie takes the first steps toward becoming sober– until she becomes convinced that it’s up to her to solve the murder. Now at odds with Sergeant Ray Abruzzo (James Badge Dale), an abrasive but effective member of the Cape Cod Interagency Narcotics Unit, Jackie starts to spiral. And she’s not alone. Ray, too, spins out of control; losing himself in the investigation. The lives of...

The wait is finally over.
Hightown premieres tonight, and you're about to witness one of the best dramas of the year.
We chatted with Dohn Norwood, Shane Harper, and Atkins Estimond about the new Starz drama.
Below, we have some excerpts of our interview with them, in which they tease the series, their characters, and what fans should expect.
TV Fanatic: What drew you all to Hightown?
Dohn: Dynamic characters dealing with the opioid epidemic, a new story, peering into a world that you don't see on TV. I don't know if there's a show like it. There was breaking bad that went to Albuquerque.
And I think most people never thought about Albuquerque, you know? In that same way, we're going to bust things open with Cape Cod, because that I think no one's seen before.
Atkins: When I initially got the sides and the breakdown of the character,...

As previously reported, the beloved Chicago Fire star will lead the cast of Starz crime drama Hightown.

For Hightown creator and executive producer Rebecca Cutter, the series is a reflection of what she loves: a “tough guy” story with “ball-breaking language.” The dark Starz crime drama tackles sobriety, Cape Cod’s opioid epidemic and a murder investigation, and Cutter said that we don’t see the female perspective from women in this type of gritty world — and Hightown serves exactly this.
During the show’s TCA panel Tuesday, Cutter was joined by a huge panel including fellow executive producer Gary Lennon, director Rachel Morrison as well as stars Monica Raymund, James Badge Dale, Riley Voelkel, Shane Harper, Amaury Nolasco, Atkins Estimond and Dohn Norwood.
The drama is right up Cutter’s alley as she grew up reading dark crime dramas by authors like Dennis Lehane, and it is told very much from a female perspective even if it is a “tough guy” story. The story hits close...
