Cynthia Lennette Collins
- Producer
- Casting Director
- Casting Department
Cynthia is a freelance casting director/producer. She currently serves
as Executive Director for FILMAtlanta.org and Organizer of the
FILMAtlanta Meetup.
FILMAtlanta.org is a member-driven organization that engages Atlanta actors and filmmakers in the production and delivery of feature films, web series, commercials, industrials and documentaries; providing quality resources, education, training, and development on all aspects of filmmaking. The FILMAtlanta Meetup is a group of over 2,000 volunteer industry professionals, from students, to professionals and novices who network and build casts and crews to complete film projects.
Cynthia's background in business administration, HR Recruiting, talent management and artist development sparked her interest in casting. She was introduced to the film industry in early 2006 after relocating to Atlanta from Philadelphia where she was born and raised. She "got her foot in the door" helping friends with casting and learning as much as she could by mentoring with notable Atlanta casting directors and filmmakers, leading to her own casting projects by 2008, from casting assistant for the Eddie Griffin Freedom of Speech DVD, Casting Director for a Christmas production for a popular mega church in Atlanta, to Casting Director for an independent feature film in 2009.
Since then, she's cast and produced several indie film projects, including the just wrapped short film "Ancestors", written by Shahara Ruth, directed by actor Tommy Ford (Martin), and starring actors Terri J. Vaughn (Meet The Browns, Steve Harvey Show), Charmin Lee (The Game, Drop Dead Diva, Girlfriends), and R&B Singer/Actress, Angie Stone.
Cynthia's currently attached to two feature films and various film projects (in development) throughout 2014.
