- She starred in the very popular Thursday evening radio program "Maxwell House Show Boat" from 1932 to 1934.
- In October and November 1937 Annette Hanshaw recorded Radio Transcription discs at World Broadcasting Studios in New York for the Chevrolet company, with singer Bromley House and the Victor Arden Orchestra, and also for the DeSoto Show.

- After many decades of obscurity, interest in her recordings was revived in the early 2010s. Many millennial and GenZ fans have found Hanshaw thanks to the inclusion of her recording of "Daddy Won't You Please Come Home" on the soundtrack for BioShock 2 (2010). The inclusion of several of her songs in the widely-available Sita Sings the Blues (2008) also helped to spread awareness of Hanshaw's work.
