Just when you think you have seen it all, there comes a film that reminds you of how far the cinematic medium has come…And how far it can go in the right hands. And let’s face it. Bhansali is Bhansali. His visual imagery in all his earlier films from Khamoshi: The Musical to Guzaarish is comparable with the best art from any field of aesthetics.
You could say Bhansali’s cinema is the visual equivalent of Lata Mangeshkar’s singing. And you wouldn’t be wrong.
In terms of its free-flowing unmeasured operatic opulence Ram-Leela (with or without the censorial pre-fix) comes closest to the giddy high-pitched and yet miraculously controlled tempo and tenor of Bhansali’s Devdas. That too was a steeply sensuous cinematic adaptation from a literary source. Ram Leela goes to Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet...

New Delhi, Aug 21: He has tasted both success and failure and Prateik, currently busy with producer Shailesh Singh's psychological thriller "Rum Pum Posh", believes in giving his best to his craft without worrying about box office numbers.

Mumbai, Aug 5: Actor Prateik, whose gently intense performance in "Issaq" has received rave reviews from some critics and been savaged by some others, has found an unlikely ally -- as well as mentor and advisor -- in Ravi Kishan, who plays a pivotal role in the film.
Ravi, who plays a powerful role in "Issaq", chose to be very vocal against negative reviews to the film, which is director Manish Tiwary's rugged adaptation of "Romeo & Juliet".
"Not liking a film is every critic's right and prerogative. Please feel free to dislike our film by all means. But why these personal comments? Why hit out at Prateik just because.

The most popular albeit tragic love story never fails to get the filmmakers’ interest. This week the age old Shakespearean saga gets rendered onscreen once again by Manish Tiwary as Issaq . Manish, who had quite impressed us with his Dil Dosti etc, brings to us a desi, bloodshed filled love story of Rahul and Bachi (aka Romeo and Juliet) from the land of Benaras.
The story outline is pretty much the same with the Montagues and Capulets being replaced by the Mishras and Kashyaps warring on the holy banks of the Ganges. The two families, sworn enemies, need no reason to pull the trigger at one another. Amidst all this animosity, Rahul (Prateik Babbar) and Bachi (Amyra Dastur) fall in love with each other – a love story amidst the fight for power with tragedy written all over it.
The bigger tragedy however, is the disaster spun in the name of adaption of a classic.

Kashyap has an 18-year old, pretty and innocent daughter Bachchi from his first wife, Bachchi’s role is played by Amyra Dastur who marks her debut in this film. Prateik, who is known to take his role seriously, is not leaving any stone unturned for playing his character perfectly in the film. The actor, who plays a Banarasi Romeo, underwent diction and physical training to get into the skin of the character. Prateik went a step ahead and even took training for fire dance and Parkour to be able to do his action sequences himself in the film.
Based in Banaras, the film has a lot of sequences at the Ghats where Parkour; a form of physical activity to reach from one distance to another in the quickest and most efficient way would be useful. Such sequences are never easy to shoot and require skills and director Manish Tiwary wanted Prateik to fit in the character to the tee. Prateik is also giving all what it takes to be a perfect Banarasi boy in love.
