Songwriter, Raj Kavi Inderjeet Singh Tulsi acquired his fame in
Bollywood after delivering super hits like "Dilwale Dulhanya Le
Jayenge", "Beshak Mandir Masjid Todo" from Raj Kapoor's movie Bobby,
"Samay Tu Dheere Dheere Chal", Kalicharan movie songs, etc.
In 1966, he was given the Padma Shree award by Indian Prime Minister
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru for his contribution in arts and literature.
Prior to entering Bollywood as a lyricist, Raj Kavi Inderjeet Singh
Tulsi was a very prominent patriotic poet.
Later on in his career, he also produced Punjabi films, which were
super hits, especially in London and Canada, titled "Yaar Gariban Da"
starring famous Indian cricketer Yograj Singh and actress Geeta Behl,
and "Ladli" 1976, starring Indian actor Kiran Kumar and Pakistani
actress Zaira.
Former senior officer at Delhi railway. Manoj Kumar assigned him the job to write the lyrics of Shor. But Raj Kapoor ended up stealing him away from Manoj Kumar. Raj Kapoor offered Tulsi the film Bobby.
