We are still in Dubai, the land of (really) tall skyscrapers surrounded by barren deserts, which is odd when you're not used to it. And we're still on The Amazing Race, and what is perhaps the best episode last week, on the sheer power of Lance and Keri's elimination. That aside, I'm prepping myself for either a terrible disappointment or something that we've all seen coming. I'm going for the latter, but not before I whistle to my favorite television theme song ever. If only I knew how.
Meghan and Cheyne finished first on the back of a Fast Forward, so they start everything with a randomly-chosen suitcase and a taxi ride to the Dubai Creek Yacht Club. From there, it's a Roadblock: one has to row across the water to an anchored yacht, where they'll retrieve a watch, row back, and open the briefcase with the combination that's on the watch,...

The honeymoon was cut short when Lance, 41, and Keri Layne, 33, were the last team to check in on the Dubai leg of The Amazing Race 15. But another race began when the competitive lawyer and finance manager got home to Massachusetts with just two weeks left to plan their wedding. --Carrie Bell In Sunday's episode, you claimed you were racing worse than any other team in the show's history. Looking back, is that true? Lance: Probably not the worst of all time. We blew the driving. Bottom line is we just couldn't navigate Dubai. Keri: We hadn't slept in a very, very long time. In hindsight, we should have got directions; then found the car. Everything was moving so fast. But even when you got directions, the exits were often spelled differently. The language was so different. Lance: We should have stuck with the group. Once the caravan left,...

Self-professed "directionally challenged" couple Lance Layne, 41, and Kerri Morrione, 33, not only got lost in the desert, but all over Dubai, too, causing them to be the fifth team to get the boot on The Amazing Race. "In this day and age, you normally rely on a Gps," Lance tells TVGuide.com. "But Dubai was tricky. They definitely had a lot of highways intersected and there weren't a lot of clear signs. We knew it wasn't going to happen for us." What did happen was a kick to a snowman's head. Get the full story on the beheading, why the duo wouldn't have helped out other teams and more.

Although it started 75 minutes late and began with two pointless back-to-back equalizers, The Amazing Race 15 finally picked up a bit, thanks to two contrasting challenges, one in the sweltering desert and one in the cold. The editing was fantastic when the editors kept cutting to Lance and Keri driving around Dubai, completely lost. While I was hoping that would last the rest of the season--you know, the other teams are crossing the finish...

The remaining eight teams on The Amazing Race bid farewell to Asia but not to the heat, duking it out this week in the Dubai desert and establishing five more rules for the road. --Carrie Bell 1. Brush up on geography. The clue vaguely instructed teams to fly to the Persian Gulf and find the world's tallest building (the still under-constriction Burj Dubai). Miss America was the only one who knew where to go off the top of her head. Lucky for the gay brothers, who were confused by the broad location details and asked the ticket booker for a flight to the Gulf, Mr. America was kind enough to share that information. Others headed to Internet cafes where they figured out the destination but wasted time unable to secure tickets online. 2. Be prepared for extremes. It was so sticky in the Middle East that the lens fogged up and it...

The only engaged couple on "The Amazing Race" this season has been kicked out of the competition after arriving last in the fifth leg. On Sunday, October 18 night episode, viewers witnessed Lance and Keri getting lost in Dubai although all teams started at the same point at the same time.
All the eight remaining teams embarked on the same plane from Cambodia to United Arab Emirates. They were quickly directed to an under-construction hotel which is expected to be the world's tallest building. Teams were to grab the clue from a balcony and head back downstairs. While others drove to Desert Reserve to perform their first challenge of the day, Meghan and Cheyne chose to do the season's first Fast Forward.
One member of the team who chose Fast Forward must complete a race track at Dubai Autodrome in 45 seconds or less. Cheyne completed the race with no difficulty and...

One more team was eliminated last night on "The Amazing Race", all due to one crucial mistake, losing the passport. Friends Zev and Justin got the irony when they were leading the race at number one and went straight to the last place after Zev lost his passport along the way. The document is one important factor to commence with the race and without it, the team has to be disqualified.
The nine remaining teams made their flight from Vietnam to Cambodia this week with all of them getting on the same plane. The first clue was given in the form of a photo of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Teams must find a hotel suite named after the celebrity whom many surprisingly didn't recognize. Then came the Detour, Cover and Wrap. In the former they could sell helmets on the street while in the latter they could go to a market...

Last week on The Amazing Race, the teams continue racing in Ho Chi Minh City, and a poignant Marcy and Ron were eliminated after a bad end to their detour. And then there are broken giraffe statues, ripped-up VCRs, oh, and Lance and Keri arguing. You very well know where I stand on this one.
I thought I was late for the show, but what do you know, it's still 60 Minutes! Brain injuries suffered by football players! Now, I haven't played football, but watching that bit scared me. I was literally touching the back of my head.

Despite a psychic predicting success, photographer Marcy Malloy, 60, and stock trader Ron Shalita, 59, were the third team eliminated from The Amazing Race. While they don't have a $1 million prize, the San Francisco-based couple talked to People about the other ways the show enriched their lives. --Carrie Bell We thought you'd be the senior team that finally won. What went wrong? Ron: Interestingly, it was not a function of age at all. We chose a test no one else did and I think it took longer and logistics went wrong. We were stuck in traffic. The driver didn't know where the Reunification Palace was even though its picture is on even the most rudimentary map like the Empire State Building. They must call it something else. Marcy: I think it was getting to the VCRs that killed us because the driver dropped us off a half mile from the...

This week on "The Amazing Race", the remaining teams embarked from a literally moving pit stop. The leg started from Vietnam's Mekong Delta, where all the contestants were inside a local boat and they were heading to a city called My Tho. Gary and Matt were first to depart and they were instructed to go to Ho Chi Minh City where they should find a puppet theater.
The teams quickly called a cab to reach the destination except for Lance and Keri who had an argument first whether or not they were already in Ho Chi Minh. Upon arrival, teams had to grab a flag containing their next clue from the mouth of a dragon puppet bobbing on water. The clue directed them to a local post office.
In the Detour round, they had to choose between Child's Play or Word Play. In the former, teams must move an animal...

I'm a big enough cause-and-effect fan that it annoys me to have an episode of "The Amazing Race" in which one team manages to do something wrong at every single step and still manages to avoid elimination. I know. I'm a bit of a purist. Sunday (Oct. 4) night's "Amazing Race" was, alas, not a very good episode, unless you happen to be a big fan of Lance & Keri (Team Meathead). And unless you're actually related to Mama Meathead or Papa Meathead, I find it hard to believe that anybody could be cheering for them. They did dumb things whenever...

Last week on The Amazing Race, Eric and Lisa got tossed before the start of the race, and Garrett and Jessica got tossed after being stuck herding ducks in Vietnam. Oh, and most of what we thought of the teams didn't really hold.
We start in the Mekong Delta, where the pitstop--a local boat--traveled to the town of Meto with everyone inside! A nice way to have everyone race without them knowing--and a nice way to disorient the racers. From there, they have to head to Ho Chi Minh City, specifically to a puppet theater where the clues are attached to the mouths of dancing dragon puppets in the water. Gary and Matt start first, and everybody else look for taxis, except for Lance and Keri, who are convinced that they're in Ho Chi Minh already. Argument along the way. But of course.
