Max Fraser is an independent Yukon filmmaker with a feature film, Polaris, in post production and several other projects in development. The most advanced is the feature documentary "Finding Joe Boyle" with partners in Quebec and Northern Ireland.
Polaris is a dystopian fantasy thriller written and directed by Kirsten Carthew, Fraser's partner in Little Dipper Films Inc., the production company for this genre film.
Fraser has experience in digital media, TV drama and TV documentaries. "Bond of Strangers - The OpHusky Digital Experience", companions his 2015 documentary "Bond of Strangers - The Operation Husky Story." Max also produced the Dawson City-based TV mini-series "Broke Down Dawson Town," written and directed by Lulu Keating. Previously Max created a number of short films and the award-winning TV documentary "Never Happen Here - The Whitehorse 9/11 Story" about terrifying events in the Yukon on 9/11.
Max is a member of Screen Production Yukon Association, the Yukon Film Society and the Documentary Organization of Canada. His career began in 1974 when he came from Vancouver to work as a reporter/photographer for the Whitehorse Star. A Yukon resident since then, his previous experience includes marketing and communications, book publishing, printing, politics and Yukon aboriginal relations.
His screen industry work focuses generally in two streams: Yukon topics and WW2 remembrance.
