Summer is quickly coming to a close, and it’s only right we should mark its passing with a big noisy Irish night out. Now that the leaves are starting to turn it’s time for the annual Wee Craic Fest, the “halfway to St. Patrick’s Day” bash that welcomes the arrival of fall liked the first dropped chestnut. Friends and followers of the Craic Fest already know what to expect, but the growing audience of Irish-born twenty- and thirtysomethings who are stopping by for the first time will want to know what’s in store. “The good news is it’s all under one roof this year,” festival director Terence Mulligan tells the Irish Voice. “The films and the music will all occur in the same venue at the Rockwood Music Hall on Allen Street in Soho on Friday, September 20. It’s one of the top music venues in the city right now,...

Chris Brown‘s career comeback reached a new high on Tuesday when the singer was nominated for six Bet awards!
Chris Brown has worked endlessly to rebuild his reputation after pleading guilty to felony assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 and HollywoodLife.com thinks it’s about time the public shifts the focus back to his music! The singer is already getting accolades for his hard work at making a comeback — he even scored six Bet award nominations for his new album! Chris’s “Look at Me Now” will be pitted up against Rihanna’s work with Drake on “What’s My Name” for Best Collaboration!
Chris’ F.A.M.E. album earned #1 earlier this year, but the singer hit a set-back after losing his cool on Good Morning America in March when the interviewer tried to steer the conversation back to his assault charges. We hope the six Bet award...

Breezy is vying for Best Male R&B Artist against the likes of Cee-Lo Green, Bruno Mars, Trey Songz and Usher. He is also up for Best Actor, going head-to-head against Laz Alonso, Don Cheadle, Idris Elba and Jamie Foxx.

HolidayChristmas with the CelebsIt's hard to believe a whole year has passed, and we've arrived at another holiday season. The holidays for many are filled with food, family, festivities, gifts, and holiday traditions. It's no exception for celebrities who are always in the public eye. It should come as no surprise how similar the people who are afforded the opportunities to live the most lavish lives, really do the same things we regular Joes do around the holidays. Here's how our favorite celebs plan to spend the holidays.Kandi"Usually for Christmas I go to my Aunt Bertha house and eat dinner and play cards all day. And on New years I go to my Aunts house and eat collard greens and black eye peas. Last year was the first time I broke the tradition when I went to the Bahamas."-Kandi Burress, singer/songwriter/reality starletEstelle"We celebrate "Boxing Day" the day after Christmas,...

Dan Scott returned to One Tree Hill this week, an exciting development we reviewed Here.
As always, though, this CW hit gave us a lot more than complicated storylines and funny one-liners. We were also treated to a slew of new songs in the background of various scenes.
We've compiled them all in our One Tree Hill music section and posted a few from "Lists, Plans" below.
Sharon Van Etten - "One Day" Laura Izibor - "If Tonight Is My Last" Laura Izibor - "Mmm..." Kid Cudi - "Erase Me"...

This week’s episode was like ‘Touched By An Angel,’ and Dan Scott is the new Della Reese!
We’ve seen Dan Scott (Paul Johanssen) take on many forms over the past seven seasons — car dealership owner, mayor, daytime talk show host, and all-around badass killer — and they’ve all held a special place in my heart. But the Nov. 30 episode of One Tree Hill re-introduced us to Dan’s most tortured persona yet: a burger cook with a heart of gold!
I also feel like Dan developed a very bizarre Karate Kid-esque relationship with Quinn (Shantel VanSanten) as he walked her through the best process of murdering Katie (Amanda Schull), but all the while reminding her she’d never be the same after pulling the trigger. (Much love up above, Uncle Keith!)
Nathan (James Lafferty) is back in school, and his business professor is a major ass-hat. On the bright side,...

Let not the political correctness, nor the worthiness, nor the collection of respectable names in the cast, nor the unstoppable onslaught of earnestness persuade you, dear people, that the For Colored Girls soundtrack is a thing of soul, a thing of spirit, a force for good. Be not swayed by the shameless Oscar chasing, nor the legitimately prestigious source material (the film is based on Ntozake Shange’s Tony nominated play). For, good people, the For Colored Girls soundtrack is nothing more than a bunch of bland cliché-driven tracks from an array of female soul singers, some skilled, some mediocre, none hitting the necessary heights, few avoiding drivelling cliché.
For a film which deals with race relations and feminine identity with a soul and rhythm & blues backing, there is woefully little flash and anger, miniscule inspiration, Gladys Knight where you might want Aretha. Janelle Monae live is a thing to behold,...

By all accounts Tyler Perry's "For Colored Girls" is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The soundtrack, which debuts today, features a haunting version of the Nina Simone classic "Four Women," sung by her daughter Simone, together with Ledisi and Laura Izibor. Essence.com recently caught up with Simone to talk about her legendary mom, her thoughts on the film and other projects she has in the works...
