Palomino(II)
- Producer
- Writer
- Director
Palomino wrote his first novella, "Mishaps on the Alien Planet", at the age of 7. This gained him a scholarship to the "Young Author's Clinic" where he was mentored by published authors and learned the essence of "Story". He directed his first film that same year, a legendary epic titled "The Heroic Path of Master Wu". He shot this on a 16mm, dusty camera given to him by his maternal grandpa, Arland. That film was never seen by anyone, director included, until 2 years later when Palomino was able to purchase a 16mm projector at a garage sale with the coins he had saved from picking blueberries the summer before under very loose child labor laws. "Wu" is still considered the filmmaker's definitive "Master Work", and all consequent projects pale in comparison as far as scope, ingenuity, and downright brilliance. Palomino exclusively employed fellow poor neighborhood kids for cast and crew. In the following years Palomino graduated to bigger and better toys and talent, both cast and crew, that possess more formal training and pedigrees. He went on to seek degrees in Philosophy at the University of Brighton, East Sussex, UK, and in Japanese at the University of Hawai'i, Hilo, and in Literature at the University of South Florida. He wrote term papers, for money, for rich undergraduates at Pepperdine University in Malibu as well. He has also worked, and currently works, as a journalist for newspapers and magazines both in the UK and in the US. In addition to all of this, historically, he has, not at all joking, worked as a butcher, a baker, AND a candlestick maker. Not many people who have ever existed can make that claim. Ultimately, Palomino found his way to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco where he studied Cinematography and Film Editing. He has worked as a writer, producer, director, and in innumerable other capacities on commercials, music videos, industrial spots, documentaries, and scripted narratives.
