Rich starred in Lionsgate's feature comedy, "The Newest Pledge (2010)." He landed a national commercial for "TIDE Laundry" opposite iconic Betty White. And recently, Rich wrote, directed, and starred in the original feature film, "Marlo Lasker (2020)."

- A diverse entourage of pets was always a part of Rich's youth; from the norm of pet dogs, gerbils and fish, Rich's Christmas wish of owning an iguana came true one year- and he successfully raised and enjoyed his iguana, 'Spikey' for 11 years.
- A jack of all trades, while finding his way to acting, Rich added a brief medical background to his resume when he became Haemonetics & CPR Certified and practiced in the Baltimore, MD area.
- At the adventurous age of 18, Rich convinced his father, Tom Rotella, to skydive with him as his high school graduation present. They jumped from 15,000 feet in Richmond, Virginia.
- Genetic tests in 2022 revealed new family history. Rich's maternal great-great-grandparents were Jewish emigres from Russia/Poland to England. Genetically, Rich is just over 12% Ashkenazi Jewish. It is almost a certainty that relatives unknown to Rich's family died during the Holocaust.
- Rich's amiable personality has made him fast friends with the likes of Dohn Norwood - Hell on Wheels (2011), Everton Lawrence - End of Watch (2012) and Ten (2013) & Chris Carmack - Shark Night (2011), and Dark Power (2013). Funny enough, one of Rich's memorable youth summer camp experiences was also that of actor Chris Carmack when they attended together at Seneca Creek State Park in Maryland.
