- Louise Lee Outlaw Shallit was a writer and journalist. She attended Bay Ridge High in Brooklyn, NY. She was the first woman reporter for the Florence (SC) Evening Star, and later became a reporter for the Philadelphia Record. Her short fiction and nonfiction appeared in magazines from the 1940's to the 1990's, including Story, Collier's, Detective Tales, Cosmopolitan, Fantastic, Redbook, Good Housekeeping, and Reader's Digest.
