Exclusive: Samantha Win (Army of the Dead) has been tapped to star in The Dresden Sun.
The cyberpunk indie pic, written and directed by Michael Ryan, is said to combine elements of the sci-fi, action and thriller genres. It watches as a heist goes south, when a brilliant, principled mercenary with a traumatic past works with an insider to steal a valued asset from Peredor Corporation called “the sphere”. The C & Earth corporation, vying for global dominance, seeks to find a solution to an otherworldly technology via a scientist’s project. Meanwhile, a financial analyst, who despises his job at the powerful investment firm Mutual One, finds himself caught between deadly corporate rivals, financial fraud, and technological espionage, and is ultimately forced to run from a psychopathic military contractor.

Los Angeles-based High Octane Pictures has picked up international sales rights to Matthew Butler-Hart’s sci-fi feature Infinitum: Subject Unknown from UK producers Fizz and Ginger Films. It has also picked up North American distribution rights and is aiming for a release in summer 2021.
The deal excludes UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, where Blue Finch Films previously acquired distribution rights.

Exclusive: American Bullet, an action feature starring Glass’ Spencer Treat Clark and Spiderman star Dylan Baker, has found a U.S. home after High Octane Pictures struck a deal at Berlin’s Efm.
High Octane will distribute the film in North America and will sell internationally after closing the deal with Hewes Pictures.
The feature, which also stars Shameless’ Shanola Hampton, is an anthology film consisting of explosive, action-filled short war tales with a sci-fi twist from a number of young filmmakers including Brando Benetton (Nightfire) and Marielle Woods, who was a stunts assistant on Baby Driver and Bright.
Treat Clark recently starred in M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass, while Baker, known for his role on The Good Wife, is set to star in The Hunt alongside Al Pacino.
“Action, adventure, sci-fi and tour-de-force performances from Clark, Baker and Hampton make for one dynamite film,” said High Octane boss Galen Christy.

Genre specialist sales agent Devilworks has inked key North America deals on two of the titles on its slate, supernatural horror The Axiom and psychological thriller Restraint.
On The Axiom, Vertical Entertainment has taken rights for North America. Directed and written by Nicholas Wood, the film tells the story of a young woman who travels into a forest with her friends in search for her missing sister; they soon discover a terrifying multi-dimensional world full of monsters.
Cast include William Kircher and Nicole Dambro. Max Landwirth produced, Alex Gans co-produced and edited the film.

High Octane Pictures (Hop) is planning to release the film during the second quarter of 2019.

In the film, directed by Eric Summer (Leap!), disaster strikes a downtown high-rise when a gas leak causes a ferocious explosion, setting ablaze the towering mass of metal and glass. On the 20th floor, Brianna (Forlani) and Tom (Bamber), a couple in the middle of a divorce settlement, are forced to work together to help save their two children.

British based horror production company Bad Blood Films has signed a deal with La-based sales company Empress Road Pictures who will represent their debut horror feature Facility 31 worldwide.
The horror film centres around an army prisoner who has to lead a group of detainees to safety from an abandoned asylum.
La sales and finance company Empress Road Pictures is fronted by Faisal Toor and Galen Christy, both formerly of the CAA.
