Whereas So You Think You Can Dance has been a little sleepy and stale, America's Best Dance Crew has been giving us the elixir of reality-television life. This all-stars reboot is nothing short of fantastic, so it's fitting that the final three crews are the most talented, inventive, and unique crews left — Quest, Super Cr3w, and Kinjaz. The crews performed two dances on Wednesday night, and we're picking our favorite from each. They're all so great that it's more a matter of taste than ability, which is a great place for a competition show to be.Quest Crew, "Shut Up and Dance" Is it any surprise that Quest Crew toured with Lmfao? They don't quite have the laser precision of Kinjaz or the technique of Super Cr3w, but they've got a sense of drama. (Like when they did an Ariana Grande performance in drag.) This is a perfect...

MTV's long-running"America's Best Dance Crew" is getting its curtain call. The once popular dance competition show has been canceled after seven seasons. "Abdc" is produced by Warner Horizon and Randy Jackson, and has recently been experiencing falling ratings, according to Variety. Jc Chasez and Lil Mama acted as judges for the show, along with noted pro choreographer Shane Sparks who exited the show after season four. He was replaced by pop star Omarion for season five. "So You Think You Can Dance" finalist D-Trix (of Quest Crew) took Omarion's spot for the final two seasons. Mario Lopez served as host. The most notable alum is first season...

'America's Best Dance Crew' is back for its sixth season, and Zap2it was on the scene at the taping of the first episode.
We caught up with Lil' Mama, who told us which crews she's most looking forward to watching, as well as rookie judge D-Trix.
Dominic "D-Trix" Sandoval makes his first appearance on the "Abdc" judges panel as the product of Season 3 champions, Quest Crew. The "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Abdc" alum told us that he'll bring a fresh perspective to the judges table.
"I just want them to know that from my point of view, I'm really here to help them," he says. "I've been through the trials and tribulations of going through a crew to become 'America's Best Dance Crew.' So, whatever I see I just want to make sure that regardless, I give them something to take home, whether it's good or bad,...

After five seasons of judging MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew," we thought Lil' Mama had seen it all.
Zap2it caught up with Mama at the very first taping of "Abdc's" sixth season, where she filled us in on her expectations of the new crews, rookie judge D-Trix, and her favorite crew of all time.
"There's always great talent out there, there's always something new that hasn't been discovered yet by the show, or by anyone for that matter," she tells us. "This season we have, for the first time, we have a crew between the ages of 10 to 13 years old -- Iconic Boys -- and I'm really excited about them. To be the voice of young people and to see the youth get an opportunity to be a part of such a big show is amazing, I love it."
But don't expect Mama to lower her standards for the pint sized crew (who,...

To the masses he is known as Hok, short for Hokuto. Born in Japan, raised in England, Hok is a standout finalist from Season 3 of Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance and Season 3 winner on MTV’s Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew as part of Quest Crew. Dance Track Magazine stumbled across a mini movie he made and we had to catch up with him to find out more and bring you the footage. Hok is currently touring and performing shows with Quest crew in addition to creating his own art alongside filmmakers and fellow performers Di “Moon” Zhang and Phillip “PacMan” Chbeeb. This isn’t the first collabo this talented threesome has created. We wanted to know the inspiration behind this new short called “The Urban Jungle.” Hok said, “We did this other short film called ‘The Office Life’ about a year ago and...

Lauren Froderman had all the right moves on "So You Think You Can Dance."Viewer votes awarded the 18-year-old recent high school graduate from Phoenix the title of "America's Favorite Dancer" and the $250,000 grand prize. Froderman bested 18-year-old runner-up Kent Boyd of Wapakoneta, Ohio, and 19-year-old third-place finisher Robert Roldan of Thousand Oaks, Calif., on the Fox dancing contest's live finale Thursday."I have been working my whole life for something like this," Froderman said. The bubbly contemporary jazz dancer was best known for her ability to pick up other styles, effortlessly taking on hip-hop, ballroom and Bollywood routines throughout the seventh season. "So You Think You Can Dance" all-star tWitch Boss is getting a new partner for the season finale.
Ellen DeGeneres will join tWitch for a "very special performance" during Thursday's (Aug. 12) two-hour finale, which we're assuming will be a little more complex than the moves she throws out during the opening of her talk show every day. The ex-"American Idol" judge will also be dancing in front of Nigel Lythgoe, who's returning to "Idol" as an executive producer.
In addition to crowning the Season 7 winner -- either Kent, Lauren or Robert -- the finale will also feature performances by British "Sytycd" winner Charlie Bruce, Quest Crew, tap dancers the Manzari Brothers and indie-rock duo Black Gold.
Fox is also unveiling a new online feature at the "Sytycd" website in conjunction with the finale. Fans will be able to watch the finale performances from multiple angles with "Dance 360," which will...
