I don't think there has been a superhero television series with an as expansive legacy as "Arrow." Premiering on The CW in 2012, the series not only ran for impressive eight seasons but spawned the "Arrowverse," a shared television universe. "Arrow" led to the creation of "The Flash," "Legends of Tomorrow," and more, with these DC Comics-inspired series regularly crossing over with one another. The show stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, a playboy who returns to his hometown of Star City after presumingly being stranded on a remote island for five years, as the vigilante Green Arrow.
Initially coming out the gate as a dark and gritty take on the Green Arrow mythos, "Arrow" let itself get weird and leaned into its comic book origins for an entertaining, if uneven, superhero show. There is a wide range of quality across the show's entire run, from its attempts to visibly...

For an installment that was, all in all, filler, DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 5 Episode 6 was outstanding.
It featured the return of Damien Darhk, who admittedly has never been the strongest character out of all the villains of the Arrowverse.
But DC's Legends of Tomorrow managed to give him some humanity, along with a bit of likability.
There has always been something about Damien that has made him uninteresting. Maybe it was because his motives for being a villain were not very fleshed out and quite typical or because he has been overused as a villain.
But with his return from hell as an Encore, it was easy to see why Nora cared so much.
Honestly, he was so charming and emotional throughout the hour that I forgot for a second that he killed Laurel Lance -- just for one second though.

Well, the day has finally come. Tonight, The CW airs the final ever episode of Arrow. Much has changed on the show over the past eight seasons, but someone who’s been there every step of the way – even if her character has changed drastically – is Katie Cassidy, who plays Laurel Lance Aka Black Canary.
Ahead of the series finale, the actress has taken to Twitter to thank all of the fans who have been watching the series for the best part of a decade. Cassidy shared a video from TV Guide in which she and her co-stars Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen), David Ramsey (John Diggle), Juliana Harkavy (Dinah Drake) and Rick Gonzalez (Rene Ramirez) send messages to the fandom. Alongside this, the star offered her own extended words about the “bittersweet” experience of saying goodbye to Arrow.

If you’ve been following our Arrow coverage lately, then you know that we, like you, have been wondering what exactly the eighth and final season will entail. After all, this past May’s finale, “You Have Saved This City,” lived up to its namesake by pretty much saying Oliver Queen did just as much. And upon leaving Star City in the capable hands of his closest allies, he went off into seclusion so that he and Felicity could raise their baby daughter together.
There was just one problem, however: the Monitor showed up to whisk Ollie away on some sort of cosmic crusade. Because of that, we’re expecting for season 8 to have more of a science fiction vibe than this show is normally used to seeing. Actually, Stephen Amell himself hinted at it being a prelude of sorts to the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event, so that provided some vindication.

Take a look at the upcoming "Arrow" episode "Lost Canary", airing April 15, 2019 on The CW:
"...after a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy 'Oliver Queen' was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the 'North China Sea'. He returned home to 'Star City', bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice.
"As the 'Green Arrow', he protects his city with the help of former soldier 'John Diggle', computer-science expert ''Felicity Smoak, former protégé 'Roy Harper', brilliant inventor 'Curtis Holt', street-savvy 'Rene Ramirez' and meta-human 'Dinah Drake'. Oliver will find himself vulnerable in a way unlike ever before when a mysterious new enemy begins to unravel his work as Green Arrow, forcing him to redeem his name or risk losing it all..."

Although it was confirmed last week that Arrow will be hanging it up following its ten-episode eighth season, it’s important we not forgot that we still have a solid chunk of the current broadcast year remaining. That said, we’re going to take a closer look at tonight’s episode, “Training Day,” before it kicks off.
If you’re current on the show, then you’re well aware of how Oliver Queen was officially sanctioned by the Star City Police Department around the midseason mark, with other members of Team Arrow likewise being given the privilege several weeks ago. With that in mind, get ready to see them going through the requisite motions no different than other cops.
As you can see in the gallery below, our heroes wear some Scpd issued threads in a boatload of photos. Living up to the title of “Training Day,” I’m guessing that Rene Ramirez,...

Now that The Flash has returned from winter hiatus, the rest of our DC TV favorites calling The CW home are slowly but surely following suit. In fact, Arrow will resume its own ongoing saga just five days from the time of this writing. And, believe me, it looks like we’re in for a real barn-burner.
If you require proof, then one need only view the newly released trailer embedded at the top of this article. Aside from containing much in the way of action and assuring that Rene Ramirez is returning to the Wild Dog persona, it sheds a lot of light on what the second half of season 7 will entail. Previously, we hadn’t been given many hints at what’s to come now that Oliver Queen is out of prison and the new Emerald Archer in town has been revealed to be his estranged sister.

As I’ve recently stated, it could be argued that less is known at this point about the rest of Arrow‘s seventh season than we knew going in this past fall. Fortunately, though, this week has played host to more promotional material teasing what’s to come.
Speaking of which, the network has finally coughed up a generously bountiful gallery of preview images providing more insight into the midseason premiere, “Shattered Lives.” Furthermore, they shed light on multiple plot points, which is something you don’t see too often in these situations.
As you browse the slideshow below, it’s very possible that the shots of Oliver Queen’s sister, the new Green Arrow, will grab your attention most. From what’s provided, it looks like Ollie and the Scpd will be coming at her from one end, while Rene Ramirez actually tries protecting her. Some outlets are already referring to her as “Emiko,...

In the midst of all the commotion surrounding the “Elseworlds” crossover – not to mention the announcement of 2019’s “Crisis on Infinite Earths” – trailers for individual DC series became overshadowed. Fortunately, it didn’t take The CW very long to release them online. And if we’re to learn anything from Arrow‘s midseason premiere teaser, it’s that this show will start off the New Year with a bang.
If you’re current on what’s been going on, then you remember how last week’s episode, “Unmasked,” finally revealed the new Green Arrow’s identity. Well, in a way it did, as we know that it’s a woman under the hood and she’s Oliver Queen’s estranged sister, but we don’t know her first name. Though if I were to wager an educated guess, I’d say she’s Emiko, someone with whom readers of comics should be familiar.

As thrilling and intriguing as the current season of Arrow has proven to be, I must admit I really miss seeing the Emerald Archer and his cohorts fighting alongside each other on the streets of Star City – and in costume, to be more specific. And though we may be taking baby steps getting there, it looks as though a major stride may be witnessed during next week’s episode.
I say that because the promotional images released ahead of “Due Process” not only show the likes of John Diggle, Felicity Smoak, Dinah Drake, Rene Ramirez, Curtis Holt and even Earth-2’s Laurel Lance all under the same roof, but they’re also apparently working in unison. Suffice it to say, this is some exciting stuff, even if they aren’t suited up.
If I were to hazard a guess, this meeting of the minds has something to do with Felicity’s lead on Diaz.

Even if a TV series is to be headlined by a character you personally champion, it’s imperative that it maintain quality for the long haul if viewers are to be kept aboard. In the case of Arrow, its fifth season proved to be one of the show’s strongest outings, so I was quite pleased to see the sixth continued with that momentum.
What was especially interesting about this past year was that the whole team dynamic was taken to a new level – yet sight was never lost on the titular character, that being the Emerald Archer himself. Believe me, Oliver Queen was really taken to the limit this time around, as Ricardo Diaz proved to be quite the formidable foe.

This season of TV has been a busy on one the CW — especially if you’re into their DC fare. With Supergirl finally joining the network in an official capacity, they had four hours of superhero programming each week. With the addition of Black Lightning, next season will bring us five superhero shows — a huge achievement for any network, really.
This coming fall will, of course, see the return of all four other shows, and with the current seasons finally wrapping up, CW has released synopses for each one of them. While the network has always been really good about keeping big spoilers out of the synopses, at the very least, you can get a glimpse of where the momentum for each show is going.

Arrow really shocked fans by changing up the game and adding a twist to its big villain reveal this season. However, that reveal was several weeks ago and it seems as though the show has been languishing and padding out a 23-episode order. As a result, episodes like Honor Thy Fathers keep spilling out and teasing a climactic showdown between the Green Arrow and Prometheus - without actually delivering.
The most recent episode dealt heavily with bodies being drowned in concrete, which is kind of a metaphor for how this episode made me feel. Things are potentially exciting, but it feels like everything keeps getting bogged down with some really heavy stuff that feels like overkill. With Adrien Chase on the prowl, the...

This week’s Arrow dove deep into the controversial issue of gun control and public safety, using a shooting at City Hall to pull Oliver (Stephen Amell) into a political minefield and giving him the opportunity to try and save his city as its mayor, rather than the masked vigilante Green Arrow.
According to executive producer Marc Guggenheim, the episode, titled “Spectre of the Gun,” is something he’s been wanting to tackle in the Arrow-verse for quite some time.
“We went into season five wanting to do an episode about an issue,” Guggenheim told reporters on Monday. “I grew up in a time where it was commonplace -- literally, every week -- for a one-hour drama to tackle the issues of the day. Somewhere along the line, we got away from that.”
