Mount Maunganui, March 18 (Ians) Girl Gang, a track by New Zealand singer Gin Wigmore, has been announced as the official song of the 2022 Icc Women's World Cup. The tournament is set to be hosted in New Zealand from March 4 to April 3, 2022.
The International Cricket Council (Icc) made the announcement in an event on Wednesday at Mt Maunganui Beach with Wigmore skydiving to the beach with the World Cup trophy in her hands.
"When you send a song out to the world you never really know what will happen," Wigmore said, who when not performing goes by the name Virginia Butler.
"You do certainly have hopes for it. I guess I had thought it would make a great theme song for something. So when the Icc called I was like 'heck yeah, that is so cool'. I'm really thrilled. It's so exciting," she said.
Wigmore had to work around her fear of heights for the event.

O! M! Gooooooood!
Wait, no, that was bad! Bad, I tell ya! I mean, just about everybody on this week’s Mistresses went completely cray-cray: Karen got drrrty (hold the “i” and add two extra r’s) with the son of her deceased former patient/lover — or, from a different perspective, the son of the crazy beyotch who’s trying to turn her existence into a Lifetime innocent-woman-behind-bars flick. Richard unleashed his inner caveman (and not in the exciting kind of way that leaves April marking down the price on her showroom furniture). And Savi casually let Dom into her house not once,...

With the exclusion of Perry Farrell of Jane’s Addiction and Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, female artists vocally dominate my list of favorite musicians. My gender bias can largely be credited to my love for Janis Joplin, which began in my teenage years. The legendary singer/songwriter set a precedent for females to widely perform without any vocal restraint. Clinging to this uninhibited style, I seek out contemporary artists with a similar demeanor of creating imperfect music. To my surprise, there still is a plentiful amount out there today; they are just overshadowed by the auto-tune clan of Britney Spears, Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj. Sifting through that mess, I present you, Shockya [ Read More ]

A Takeda-like riddle for you: If Revenge‘s central truth came to light in this week’s episode but then was shipped off to the slammer just a short while later, did it even happen? Also, a good hint at the circumstances surrounding the season premiere’s flash-forward made it seem like life vests and emergency beacons might be a prudent wedding gift for the future Mr. and Mrs. Porter. Meanwhile, a commercial tie-in had me making Kara-off-her-meds faces at the television intermittently through the evening. Let’s review what happened during “Penance.”

Back in April, Daniel Craig, a.k.a. Agent 007, had to defend Heineken's product placement in new flick "Skyfall," insisting that "having a beer is no bad thing, in the movie it just happens to be Heineken."
He should have added, "Oh, and there's gonna be a kick-ass commercial as well," since Heinekin just released a knockout Bond-themed spot bookended with appearances by the man himself.
The plot of this lavish ad involves Craig's Bond being pursued, only to throw his tail with a lookalike who then has to rocket through a Euro luxury train evading all kinds of baddies, including a computer-enhanced appearance by Bond villain numero uno Dr. Julius No (the late Joseph Wiseman).
While the Martini may be absent, producers still managed to get some gin in this commercial by employing the exquisite pipes of New Zealand singer/songwriter Gin Wigmore. Her song "Man Like That" has...
