“We Tapped That Ass” was one of two songs that “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” submitted for the Emmys, and in the end, was the one that won the nomination. Although series creator, star, and lyricist Rachel Bloom was thrilled for the nomination, her first thought was, “Oh shit. We’re not going to win this. That’s not likely.”
Sadly, “We Tapped That Ass” did not end up winning this year — the honors went to Common’s “Letter to the Free” for Ava DuVernay’s “13th” instead — but the song is in good company among other raunchy comedy tunes that have been recognized by the Academy. Before the 1990s, the trend for Emmy-winning songs tended to be pretty standard theme songs, concert performances or variety tunes. “The Simpsons” started opening the door to more comedic fare in the 1990s, earning multiple nods and even winning two, but it was a 2007 earworm on...

The mood got decidedly funnier and edgier in this year’s Emmy race for Original Music and Lyrics. It was a badly needed tonic for the country. Most notably, Tina Fey joined the musical fray for the first time, looking for her 10th Emmy with the hilarious “Hell No,” a tribute to Beyonce’s “Lemonade” (featuring an enraged Tituss Burgess) from “Unbreakable Kimmie Schmidt.”
But, given the current zeitgeist, it’s not surprising that Chance the Rapper was nominated for his Run-d.M.C.–inspired rap tribute to Obama, “Last Christmas,” from “Saturday Night Live,” or that Rachel Bloom was back again with the raunchy “We Tapped That Ass” from “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.” There was even room for the excruciatingly uncomfortable “The Ballad of Claus Jorstad (Devil Stool)” from “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” and and the animated burlesque of “Jing-a-Ling-a-Ling” from “Duck the Halls: A Mickey Mouse Christmas Special.”

Kate Beckinsale is an open book! The 44-year-old actress played “Plead the Fifth” on Thursday night’s Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen and answered two and a half out of the three questions.
First, host Cohen asked Beckinsale to play “Marry, Shag, Kill” with her Pearl Harbor co-stars, Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett, as well as her Total Recall co-star, Colin Farrell.

“That’s quite hard!” she exclaimed. “I’d probably have to shag Colin because I’ve sort of semi-done it onscreen so I feel like it would count. I’d marry Ben, and I’d kill Josh.”
When the audience gasped at her quick response, Beckinsale looked surprised, saying, “Shocking answer!”
Cohen then asked if the rumors were true that she and her Vacancy co-star, Luke Wilson, had some tension because he was allegedly “hungover, late to set...

Robert Pattinson has responded to backlash over an anecdote he shared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” about a scene involving a dog in “Good Time,” the new movie directed by Josh and Benny Safdie, in which the actor plays a bank robber trying to save his mentally-disabled brother.
On the show, Pattinson referenced a deleted scene in which his character encounters a sexually-aroused dog; his anecdote created the impression that he was pressured to engage in bestiality. That prompted a statement in support of Pattinson from PETA, and an Instagram post from director Josh Safdie explaining that the scene with the dog involved a prosthetic, but no pressure to engage in any real sexual behavior. Now, Pattinson has weighed in, sharing the following statement with IndieWire:
The story I told on Jimmy Kimmel last night seems to have spiraled out of control. What didn’t come across is that this was supposed to be a joke.

In the words of Ron Burgundy, “That escalated quickly.”
Last night, Robert Pattinson stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to promote “Good Time,” and in the course of the interview, related a rather wild story about a scene he claimed was cut from the film, in which he…..manually pleasures a dog. The tale was made even more outrageous when the actor claimed that instead of using prosthetic, directors Josh and Benny Safdie wanted him to do it for real (Pattinson drew his line in the sand with that).

It's not hard to see why people are so obsessed with Josh Dallas and Ginnifer Goodwin's relationship - they're basically living out a real-life fairy tale. After meeting on the set of Once Upon a Time, where they played Prince Charming and Snow White, the pair began their own love story off screen. In October 2013, they became engaged and then made things official on April 12, 2014, a few months before welcoming their first child. While they may not be reprising their storybook characters anytime soon, we can still relish their epic romance with a few interesting tidbits about their low-key wedding. It was an intimate ceremony. The couple said their vows in front of around 30 guests, including their parents, at an $8 million Asian-Moroccan-inspired home in Venice, CA. Ginnifer wore a custom gown. The bride arrived with Josh and a photographer at the venue wearing a long navy blue v-neck dress,...

It only took 10 weeks of dating before season 10 bachelorette Andi Dorfman knew fiancé Josh Murray was "The One," but how well do the newly engaged lovebirds really know each other? That was the burning question on last night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, where Andi and Josh sat down for an interview together following the After the Rose ceremony and were quizzed on a few key facts about their significant other while playing the "No-ly Wed Game." And surprisingly, the couple passed the test with flying colors. Murray was first asked to reveal the brunette beauty's worst habit ("cussing") and while she didn't share the same answer (Andi chose...

It sounds like the set of "The West Wing" was rife with pranks. Joshua Malina revealed last year in a Reddit Ama that when Jimmy Smits first joined the cast, Malina played a prank on co-star Bradley Whitford:
Janel Moloney and I pulled off a good one on The West Wing. When Jimmy Smits first joined the cast, we sent a Huge bouquet to him from Brad Whitford. I had stolen some personalized Whitford stationary, and wrote a really suggestive note from Brad to Jimmy. It was all very awkward and fantastic.
On Wednesday's (Dec. 12) "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "Trophy Wife" star Whitford says that Smits had a funny reaction to the love note.
"I think Jimmy was confused. I know I was. He came over to me, he kept patting his heart and going, 'Thank you.' and then he hugged me," laughs Whitford, who then proceeds to share...

Diane Kruger may seem reserved, but she's actually pretty funny! On Tuesday, the actress sat down with Jimmy Kimmel where she opened up about her new show "The Bridge," and shared one hilarious story about her very German mother meeting Joshua Jackson for the first time. Check out the video above to see how Josh reacted when her mother pulled out his mug shot! You know it's a good sign when your significant other can get through a brutal grilling with your parents and still stick around. Talk about awkward. Get a look at the Jackson's mugshot below: Joshua was arrested in 2002 at a hockey game for simple assault and with being intoxicated and disruptive, but his assault charge was later dropped. Jackson agreed to attend an alcohol education program and complete 24 hours of community service in order to have his remaining charges dropped. Would you have stuck around after that sort of an interrogation?...

Diane Kruger's boyfriend, Joshua Jackson, had a very awkward encounter with her mother when she first brought him home to Germany. She revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night that her mother greeted Josh with his mug shot from his 2002 arrest and was grilling him on the events surrounding it. Josh was arrested for public intoxication and allegedly assaulting a security guard during a hockey game in Raleigh, but the charges were later dropped. Mama Kruger's questions did not go over well with Diane, who said she didn't talk to her mom for the rest of her trip and even threatened to stop visiting her. Despite the awkward encounter with her family, Josh and Diane are still going strong, and he was by her side at the premiere of The Bridge in La on Monday. Watch her interview above and keep reading to see photos of Diane arriving at the Jimmy Kimmel Live!

From the man who brought you "I'm F---ing Ben Affleck" and "The Handsome Men's Club" comes something so big, something so spectacular, something so uncontrollably crazy that it's simply too good to be true — which, of course, it is.
We're talking about the one and only "Movie: The Movie," the not-actually-upcoming blockbuster from the maniacal mind of Jimmy Kimmel. Once again, the talk-show host reacted to Oscar night the only way he knows how: with a reliably ridiculous star-studded parody video. This year, Kimmel outdid himself with an all-star cast including the likes of George Clooney, Charlize Theron, Meryl Streep, Kate Beckinsale, Chewbacca, Taylor Lautner and even Daniel Day-Lewis in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it turn as Tyler Perry as George Washington.

Here on the west coast, you have to wake up early if you want to watch the full slate of NFL games. Well, this is early for me at least.
9:03 Am
I gravitate toward Espn's NFL countdown for my pre-game viewing. When it comes to pre-game hype and post-game analysis, Chris Berman and Tom Jackson have become my multi-decade comfort food. I trust them to cover both conferences equally, and - although I have never given their pre-game shows a completely fair chance - I have a suspicion that CBS and Fox might show preference toward highlighting the games they are actually broadcasting.
9:15 Am
Sure, Espn, you can bring in George Stephanopoulos, but this political-nfl crossover faux election coverage to designate the midseason awards is rather strained. I am usually fairly good at spelling people's names, but I had to look up "Stephanopoulos" to be safe.

On the Tuesday, June 22, episode of Discovery's crab-fishing unscripted saga "Deadliest Catch" -- which airs at 9 p.m. Et/Pt -- Capt. Phil Harris of the Cornelia Marie suffers the stroke that would eventually end his life.
Watch this space for more details on that, and what comes after, next week.
But executive producer Thom Beers doesn't want fans to miss tomorrow (June 15) night's 10th episode of the season. He fears that Game 6 of the NBA Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics -- with coverage beginning on ABC at 8:31 p.m. Et, following a Jimmy Kimmel special at 8 -- will siphon viewers away from what he feels is pivotal installment in the ongoing story of Harris and his two deckhand sons, Jake and Josh.
And it's stress Beers doesn't need when he editing the episode which includes Harris' death.
"I'm having a hard time," Beers says.

Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night obsesh with Lost just doesn’t stop. Last night, the comedian had Josh Holloway, aka Sawyer, from ABC’s trippy, soon-to-end drama stop by, and the always charming actor — gasp! — wouldn’t even reveal the end of the series. What’s with that? The cutie-pie did, however, cover a wide range of topics with Kimmel, ranging from how Matthew Fox always knew more about what was going to happen with the show than he did, how he predicted that the island would move, and how the “cage stuff” from the earlier seasons were some of his favorite scenes.
